« on: 2009-10-21 18:47:35 »
i'm using RPG Maker XP as the game engine...

the gameplay is action battle system..

so it's similar with ragnarok online..

era: semi-modern

now, i'll tell you about the protagonist

name: unnamed

age: 16

weapon: sword

personality: kind, friendly, but careless for the political things

i just need:

-2D sprites
-someone that can help me with storyline
-enemy designer
-backgrounds

How semi-modern? Are we talking 1950s or 1750s? Steampunk? Neo-Victorian? Post Apocalyptic? Apocalyptic?

What type of sword? Where did he learn to use it? How did he get it?

And can we get some of the story before we help you with it?

as a rule, you wanna come asking for help when you've already odne half the work, and people will help you fix/finish the rest... have /some/ sprites, some skeleton of a story and some idea of what you need. Don't just ask us to make you a game.

okay guys, i'm going to travel back in time and was wondering if you guys wanna help me a little bit.

All we need to finish it is:
garbage
Flux Capacitor
Delorean
Micheal J Fox
Doc to build the time machine

I can handle all the rest, just these few extras and it ready to go!
[/sarcasm]

sorry, couldn't resist. I'd suggest at least building SOMETHING to start and maybe people will help you.  what you've posted sounds as feasible as what i just posted, maybe even less so, because everyone wants to travel through time.

Also, my offer stands on the above items :D

Aren't you the guy who wanted to make a 3D RPG?
It's cool you're trying to be creative but seriously but it's too soon. Sleep with it, design it, make a storyline, characters, main idea, style, decide on engine, make some demo. It's important to show people the project is in development and if it's advanced enough it'll encourage people to join you, reassuring them you won't resign after few weeks as one of the ever changing ideas for "something to do".
We, with two of my friends, are working on a game for 4 months now in our free time and still don't want to ask for help or show the project. It's still not certain we will finish it...

i'm really sorry..
gomenasai!!! TAT

i was sleepy when i posted this...

well..
actually, i only just need a sprite maker..

the hero is a 16 years old swordman who forced to join a peace preservation society...
and the people in the society always ignore to him and treat him like a kid...
then he become an ignorant boy...
after a few mission, he decided to quit and make his own journey...

when he arrived in the next town, he found a girl (she's a gunner) surrounded by some gangsters..
the boy is confused... he don't want to help people because he thought people will ignore and leave him..
then he snapped out of his confusion and take out his sword...

that's all i can tell you now..

sorry if there a mistake in my grammar..

I'd say start by just making one of those first missions as a peace preserver, ppl can ignore/treat him like a kid

Good idea. Something like SeeD training in FF8. You can pass here some knowledge about world, organisations, countries, more important people etc. Maybe even going step earlier at the events when he's forced to join, maybe he was forced to join by his parents.
Add a bit dramatism and danger and you have intro in Hitchcockesque style. You could also add some hard times in the organisation, expand the treatment a bit farther than just a kid. Make him a pushover, introvertic, who's anger is building from inside from mission to mission and when it explodes, some tragedy/accident/betrayal occurs which forces him to desert or normally leave them.
You can make him either a victim or a cause of something bad. Being a cause gives more tragic opportunities, haunting ghosts of the past, maybe some subconscious actions pushing him to self-redemption, making him introvertic, or even more introvertic, untrustfull etc.

In the scene with a girl a choice would be good. To help or not. The linearity is for you to decide, you could change the events a bit or in Suikoden style, after denial you could force the hero into the fight which could later alter just few dialogue sentences and run the story normally. You could add character among gangsters which could be later recruited, start a storyline concerning the cause of the assault or why he left the organisation. Maybe they didn't forget about him and want him back. What if there's something special and misterious about him, etc, etc.
Possibilities are endless.

@hay: yes, i was inspirated by FF8's SeeD... but this one, the hero left the organization cuz the peace organization isn't peace organization at all
