Releases / Re: [FF7PC-98/Steam] New Threat Mod (v1.5)
« on: 2017-12-21 23:04:48 »
First off I have been playing this using 7th Heaven version and tons of other mods and it is just incredible and awesome. Thank you so much for making it.

So far I ran into the godberry issue where I was stuck with one dead character and two other in the stop/paralysis mode. Really can't do anything but watch em walk around. Random freezes here and there when I hades+added effect some enemies(frog small poison sleep) and certain enemies cannot be removed with the remove spell except once you cause them posion they can then be removed. Also had a crash when SPOILER using beta against Tseng in the boss fight. The game would just freeze right up at the screen flash.

Those tiny bugs included this is an AMAZING REMASTER of this game, mechanics and story.

I absolutely love it. Not finished yet though just got back into midgar for the end of disc 2

I will return!!

Hello all,

Its awesome you guys are still working on this and 60fps battle is amazing! I've got it working properly with normal 1998 ff7.exe but it doesn't seem to work when I use 7H to launch the HextLauncher I have all 7h iros working but no longer 60 fps battles. The 60 fps option in the animations iro doesn't seem to be working either. Is there any way to get the 7H IROs and the 60 fps mod working together? I can post my load order but won't do it unless asked because its a lot of text.

Thanks guys

Edit - I always use the hext launcher to launch the ff7.exe but switch the setting to ff7_bc.exe when using 7H just to clarify

Edit2-Sorry its been a while since I've been on these forums. I see DLPB reunion that includes this I'm going to give that a try

Thanks for your reply! You're absolutely right. Using 7th Heaven properly was the key. I was having issues getting it to work properly and it eventually started to just crash on me but then I read your little note

"Two things to check. If it's a new version of 7H it'll still keep settings and stuff from the temp files. Try deleting users\AppData\Roaming\7thWorkshop. "

and that is exactly what I needed to get it working right!

Okay I have googled these forums and other places and found no solution but I'll try to keep this short.

I'm having issues with my ps3 controller working on ff7 using Better DS3 software. I've used BFE before and installed everything fine with no problems before. The only thing I did differently this time as installed all modes. Once I chose to install all modes the controller stopped working and will not even register when trying to remap through the games menu

I am also having trouble getting Bloodshot's tifa model                http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=14595.0             installed after running bootleg where I have selected "no change" for the tifa battle model. After bootlegs runs I used ulgp to extract the battle.lgp data, replace the files with the mod files, then encode back into the battle.lgp yet the tifa battle model still isn't changing. I have also tried 7th heaven to get this working but still no change.

Thank for any help!

My work for Sony Online Entertainment for DC Universe Online doesn't belong to me  :|

I just started to play that game! Awesome you did work on it!

On topic this model looks awesome! Much better than the other model floating around that has been ripped from another game. And speaking of which since I own both Jedi academy and FF7 pc its legal for me to use?

If it comes with 60 fps battles and FMVs that would be great! But we all know better.

The only hopes I have for this is that maybe it would be easier for the modders to work with. Maybe it would come with a new structure that could make previously impossible things possible.

But knowing how Squenix works it will most likely be the exact opposite.

I personally have had more issues with the FF8 port so if they re released that I would totally buy that. I cannot for the life of me seem to get the music working again!

Sorry to necro post but I have a question/comment

I downloaded the stereo/reverb and they sound great. But I cant seem to get them to work in my game...now I wonder if they were ever meant to be played in the game I moved out the MIDI files and put the .wav in But that doesn't work and I am sure it is for some obvious reason that I am unaware of.

Anyways thanks for any help and sorry again.

Just to clarify...you need the original "world_us" to make this mod work as intended?

Wow...I haven't been annoying the forums in a while...but this is more progress then I imagined! Great work!

How often are these glitches appearing? I would like to use the mod but would not like to see big dark squares. Pics look good though no doubt.

Then I wouldn't even bother, I'm pretty sure the heat gun method will work, but there is no guarantee it will work forever, it could easily get cracked again within a month.

remelt and reconnect the solder, the reason it has ylod is because one of those two chips heated to a high temperature then cooled to quickly causing a crack in the solder, thus needing reheating and connecting. You could always use a soldering iron but incase you have no skill with that use the head gun just make sure to let the board cool before you try to pick it up again because it will be soft.

I had an 80 GB ps3 model that got ylod (MGS4 bundle) , I fixed it myself by striping it down to the motherboard (cleaning the system while doing this is good) and wiping all the thermal paste off of the GPU and CPU (alcohol wipes) then (using a heat gun not hair dryer) heating the gpu and cpu for about ten minutes on high, then applying some (the better quality the longer it will last) thermal paste. let it dry then reassemble the ps3. It is a pretty difficult task and I would recommend taking pictures for the sake of not losing where parts go and if your having trouble I learned from youtube videos on how to disassemble and reassemble so if you have any experience I'm sure you could do it. I'm just some kid with a torx screw driver and a heat gun XP

I've installed this using two different systems, one 32 bit one 64 bit, 32 bit system worked great, I installed it on a 64 bit system first I even learned there were things on this I've never seen before. I noticed on the 32 bit you see a new intro and FMV sequence that has clips from advent children and credits for the makers of the patch, on my 64 bit it did not change a thing just simply presented the eidos opening to the original final fantasy 7 credit screen, also on the 64 bit the change of the start screen did not work it gave me an invalid value error and the start screen was simply white backgrounded. Other then these few things the game runs fine as far as I can tell.

Well in case anyone is interested they are making a ps3 downgrade to downgrade fw from 3.50 to 3.41 (hackable fw) but so far any free version just needs the master key

Well some people claim to use "backups" but  once they do backup their games onto their hard drives or external drives, then they just go and sell the game back to gamestop, EBgames, etc. but your right its not always used for piracy, the homebrew apps are very useful, like the VNC apps on the wii that lets me view n control my computer on my tv, while the fusa gamepad hombrew lets my use my psp as a gampad on my computer to let me play it juust like the psx  :-P

I have done everything Nero says but I am still seeing just the regular ol start screen any solutions?

48
Sorry for using my revive spell, but I am having the same issue and was wondering if any solution was ever found.

So you think that everything is ok if you apologize for it? You necro'd this thread, then made an identical thread elsewhere. Warning issued.

no it is not that the pop up is bothering me, it is that the image file is not being replaced with the new .png file sorry I should have been more clear.
