I got a crash when I entered Niblheim for the first time. Here are my requested files. It does so repeatedly. The save file is the first on slot 2.

skyhawk, DLPB said the game ignores the Steam settings with Reunion. I wasn't able to map my X-input controllers through it with Reunion activated.

3
I am about to do a Reunion install. I would like to test the Weapon mod, but I'm unsure what kind of "additional script changes" it has implemented for option 2. Are the battles harder?

4
DLPB. I just started the game. So far all Limit Breaks I've seen that require the character to get close to the enemy (Braver, Curse Slash, Palm Rush), the character always moves before the "limit break fire" effect has played. The camera also fails to follow them properly in that circumstance. I believe this isn't intended behaviour since the it only occurs with option 2 of 60FPS battles.

5
To add to the list of animations playing too quickly under 60FPS battles setting 2, Cloud and Tifa's Limit Breaks. The reunion database doesn't list those under bugs, but it's probably listed somewhere since it's hard not be aware of it.

6
Which version of game converter are you people using? Seems like there is one specific to 7th Heaven.

7
My Reunion.log says "Warning: No valid registry entry was found. Are you sure Final Fantasy VII is installed properly and that this is a legitimate copy?" The other people reporting such are also using the Steam version. That's all it says. I wanted to report properly since I'm sure whether my last comment was understood.
Also, the Help.rtf refers to a document called Additional.rtf, which is nowhere to be found.

So as a workaround for now, if you run Game Converter and target the Steam FF7 files this'll produce the 1998 regkeys needed to pass the functioning part of R06's registry check. After that, you can run R06 either through ff7.exe or ff7_en.exe (steam).
I will give that a shot, Sega Chief.
Which version of the converter are you using? The one for 7th Heaven?

I'm having the same issue as stated above.
On another note, I don't know how to enable the worldmap retexturing. I don't think it is stated in the help document. It just says it exists, and what folder the textures are in.

First, I believe you should read the Final Fantasy subReddit's Version differences faq.

There are a few games I would recommend modded:

Final Fantasy VI - use the "relocalization" mod. It improves the localisation, but in addition improves gameplay with a plethora of bug fixes.

Final Fantasy VII - I suggest using the Reunion mod. This is another game that wasn't localised well by Square. The mod is in this forum (currently awaiting release of R06), but you can also apply it to the PlayStation version.

Final Fantasy IX - resist the temptation of the HD graphics bravely and play it on PlayStation. It plays better with a better interface for controller use, and more intelligent menu behaviour.

The best PlayStation emulator is Bettle PSX HW in Retroarch.

General Discussion / Re: where do you buy games ?

I usually buy games at gog.com or Good Old Games. Essentially any of those online stores will have a wish list. Add all the games you're interested in to it, and they will mail you when those are on sale.

11
R06 will be a new modding solution for the game according to DLPB.

12
Green Goblin was the one responsible for the previous PSX port of the Reunion. He said he was interested in porting R06 too.

13
I'm sorry, but I can't download the R06. When I click, the following link "about:blank blocked" appears.

R06 hasn't released yet.

General Discussion / Re: FFVIII Remastered

Which are all things we could have now, if SE had worked with us on a open Gears engine, at the time when they made the re-release for FF7. They could have ported a lot of their psx games and we would have maintained it. But SE isn't a company that can't look far in the future. In the end they wasted more money than needed and also loose more and more of their reputation as a company, which makes high quality games.

@Divatox ATM the remastered is technically better and with mod support in the future, overall. But OpenVIII will be the definitive version which will have most of the things which people do except for a remaster.

Are you sure we could have true 60 FPS now or just the menus in battle? I don't think people would settle for that. They're even complaining the FMVs are only 15 FPS. And what's OpenVIII?

I was just reading the Steam reviews. Most people's complaints are usually: it isn't wide screen, backgrounds are blurry, it isn't 60 FPS, and there is no real analogue movement.

Not a big deal, but still, any kind of censoring is always annoying. I mean, what's the point of censoring an old game?

Maybe I was wrong in the FF7 Remake thread, maybe Square did start caring about dressing modestly all of a sudden.

Likely because rating standards aren't the same as when the game was released.

Is the Grandia remaster really garbage though? The filter doesn't look that bad and people who hate filtered sprites must be a minority considering developers keep adding those.

Anyway, I want that on Good Old Games. I'm hopeful since Grandia 2 is already there.

Why don't you try telling them they can upscale those now?

19
I didn't know Tifa was as weak as SC described. Usually for me she has the fourth best strength, and highest dexterity. He mentioned that she had mediocre dexterity perhaps because in the base game no one truly has great Dex growth considering it maxes out at 255 like the other main stats?

I would have loved to listened, but good god the interviewer's voice is unfathomably bad.  Why is there a filter on it? At least I'm assuming that's a filter. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard

I had a worse time understanding what Sega Chief was saying.

Gotta say the chances of this having proper analogue support and that new font are the biggest reasons I might buy this remaster. The reason I definitely won't buy it is because Squenix puts Denuvo on everything they touch now. Maybe if I get a console soon.

The Lifestream is a Final Fantasy VII fan website. They have just published an interview with SEGA Chief on their Youtube channel. They mostly talk of the New Threat mod for Final Fantasy VII.

Is it currently possible to change the in-game textures (or linear-blur them) along with R05 without breaking anything? Or is that only possible with older versions, and likely the upcoming R06?

I believe the modern PC version already comes with some linear filtering. It's an option in the launcher IIRC.

23
Oh, R05 has hotkeys to control the speed.

Now that I re-read the readme files, I was impressed. I never once used this feature.  ;D

24
How do you fast forward? I accidentally did it and now it's back to original speed when I restarted game.

I believe you're referring to the speed up function in battles, but Square didn't include that in the Steam version or the 1998 version. Only their own site and the modern console ports have that. There is a trainer called Ochuu around this site that will do that, but I think it has no hotkeys. Neither does The Reunion.
