Title: Why were the remade FMV's not included?
Post by: Opaque79 on 2018-10-06 15:29:15
I was wondering why the remade FMV's were not in the movies mod in the catalog?

I'm talking about these in particular

And these

They were an option in Bootleg but not 7th Heaven.

The first one is only a partial mod, and I try not to include those to save space for the download. I could consider the second one. The movies category is going to get much larger, and...FMVs (imo) are not a center point for modding FF7. All we're really looking at are resizes and filters to watch slightly better movies that don't play that often.

Now it makes perfect sense. The movie mod is nearly 5GB on its own

Could they be manually installed and the movie option set to "No Change"?

Yep, that's what I normally do. I don't activate the media movies mod at all in 7th Heaven. Just place any video file you prefer inside the data/movies folder. Thanks for referring to my mod btw ;)

P.S.: I'm currently using my intro videos along with the no chibi replacement to have a closer realistic feel and video transition between the game and the fmvs. But I'd love to use the ff7 remake intro vids as well.

I tested it earlier and it does indeed work on the condition that the file is in .avi format
