FF7 Tools / Re: 7thWrapper
« on: 2013-07-17 11:25:24 »
Dosen't work. I got something like this:
Quote
The typ"_7thWrapperLib.LoaderContext"in the assembly
"7thWrapperLib. Version=1.0.0.0.Culture=neutral. PublicKeyToken=null"
could not be loaded.

However the new random feature is nice and could bring a bit more visible dynamic to the battles.
And thanks for the variable aliases, it will made much things easier to mod for me.
It would be nice if the program would run FF7Music, too, when I click on launch.
Except you could make something better for the music, because FF7Music has a bug with the volume ramping.
The last thing is maybe a PNG or DDS support for the steam (or rerelease) users.

Sephiroth model is stored within the scenes for PSX. Because it's not so often needed.

Looks like a UV map, from a caracter I think (in the upper left corner one part looks like an eye).

FF9 had a better idea... the boxes are linked to the models.  They move with the models and the bubble starts at the models mouth area. They obviously got sick of manual placements.

The best thing I could imangine, would be a tool, which capture the text boxes and show its own one.
The tool need the ability to connect a box to the middle of the chest-head bone of a model. However determing, which box belongs to which model needs to be done manuly.
Maybe it would be a good idea to make an unshown model indication at the beginning
of a dialog like:
Quote
#AAAA#R#
Cloud
"..."
[R/L = upper right/left from the model; r/l = lower right/left from the model]

I don't know if it's possible to make such a tool, but at last it's an idea.

The audio 'blip' at the game start is only a sign that DLPB's hext.dll is working

Yep, my char.lgp is bad guy.
However testing with a default char.lgp has given me another problem. It appears that your wrapper only replace files which are existent in the Lgp.
So many of the characters I have reworked has some parts missing. I do not have these issue with the direct mode of Aali's driver.
Do you think you could made it work like the direct mode? However I'm looking forward to these tool, it would give us much more opportunities.

Comparison to the previous (current) model:

I hope the battle model will go fast, without any problems... :|

@Acetrouble
This project is far away from completeness, it's more a improvement and addition to the PRP models (with the one from Squallff8's).
Actually I've never planed to make it this far and I have doubts that I could finish it (well maybe sometime, next year :-P).

@Template
The left arm is OK now, but not the right one. It's impossible for an human being to hold a sword like this. I guess correcting the hip is enough (work, if you correct the other animations of cloud, too). So leave the look of the arms as they are by default.

Disable PBO, it's strongly not recommended for ATI cards.

Why are the shaders off? ???
That's what I have instead:

I can't insert char.lgp. :'(
Every other modification seems to work (new battle models, world models, etc.). But if I create a char.lgp folder, the game crashes - even if its empty.

Edit:
Oh, I guess it's time to move this tool to the tool section. ;)
'Fat Chocobo' would be a nice name. :-D

The problem is familiar to me, you need to disable the 'compressed textures' function in Aali's driver.

2162
Well, I used mainly the brush tool to paint it....  :-P

I would love a versatile one, that you can tell "RT** (that's Cloud's battle model) inside the battle LGP should use the one I specify" and then you can change a setting and then another model is used. Instead of Game Var, user input (that's merely my opinion).

Well, I need a possibility to control different versions of a model through a game variable. I would like to represent Clouds different states of his mental behavior visually.
Or giving Cait Sith number II a different look. There plenty of possibility if we are able to do this (snow clothes for the party in the snow area as example).

omg... lulz... less ripped dreamy APZ Final Form and more Vincent modeling, go!
I wish I could, but the laser device of my mouse is brocken.  :'(

You need to combine them to receive your ultimate form...
One Winged APZ - the evils new face :P

Do Nots

1. Do not install Team Avalanche menu overhaul or associated menu files.  This mod will not support it. If you have done, please reinstall our Menu Overhaul Project again.

2. Do not install ANY mod which changes the layout of the menu.

3. Do not install any break 9999HP patchers. Do NOT use aali's driver option for 9999 patch either.  Use the one that comes with this installer.

General Discussion / Re: Tool Tutorials?
« on: 2013-07-10 06:49:49 »
I would like to make a Kimera tutorial ... I currently working on Vincent and will need every skill and technique I have. So it might be a good time to make one.
It would be only basic explanation and demonstration of the editing tools. Well, I guess pCreator, bitrun and Image2tex are needed as well... I will see how it turns out.

Someone should make a tutorial of Makou Reaktor. It's a mighty tool and with WallMarket, White Chocobo and ProudClod you can edit nearly every aspect of FF7.

A tutorial of ProudClod would be f*ck*ng awesome, because editing the enemy AI with only these hex values (8F, 01, etc.) is pretty hard. Specially if you are someone, who do not know what they do, like me.

Is it possible to enhance Aali's Custom FF7/FF8 Driver section to 'Patches and fixes'?
I believe it would be better to store there all the new to old patches (from Kranmar and Kompass63).
I also suggest making for Bootleg a complete own section. It would be better to post a problem with Bootleg there, instead of open a new topic in the Troubleshooting section.
So we would have a better overview in both sections.

If the DLL is 32 bit:

Copy the DLL to C:\Windows\SysWoW64\
In elevated cmd: %windir%\SysWoW64\regsvr32.exe %windir%\SysWoW64\namedll.dll

I also found this:
Quote
Type "regsvr32 name.dll" into the Command Prompt and press "Enter." Note that "name.dll" should be replaced with the name of the DLL that you want to register. For example, if you want to register the iexplore.dll, type "regsvr32 iexplore.dll."

A 32 bit file Must be installed in SysWOW64. It's a big misunderstanding of the most users. I don't know why Microsoft has done (and named) it this way...

What's with the direction buttons? The piano mini game would need it.
