edit: that was a bit too wide open. ummm.... 'stim' or 'med' packs can get you into a super power mode.

Yep, mirex is right, it's Mechwarrior 2. It had Clan Wolf and Clan Jade Falcon to choose from.

3 (IIRC, I haven't played it) had Inner Sphere agains Clan Smoke Jaguar. First one didn't have any clans, but was very good game, though. No idea about the fourth one, haven't played it, and I'm pretty sure that there is no 5, yet.

So this one is my favourite Beat 'em up. To this date there were released 5 of this serie (AFAIK for pc). And hint ... it is really really bloody.

Mortal Wombat... Kombat? Although I don't know if there are five of them for PC, but OTOH I don't know any other beat 'em up series that would have five games for PC either. :) So that's my guess.

Sephiroth 3D: Yep, 4 was released quite soon after 3. Especially so if you compare it to Mechwarrior 2's developement that seemed to take years and years and included two dev teams; one was fired and other one decided to write the whole thing from scratch. :)

I didn't hear about it, it's a product of my own, sick, imagination (most likely came up with it when I wanted to make fun of MK, to annoy some friend). :P

Not surprising really (and neither is the fact that it seems to be pretty common 'term' in web); it rhymes, the mental image of bloodthirsty, arse-kicking wombat performing Fatality is pretty hilarious and it tends to annoy some MK fans (which I consider to be pretty damn good thing(tm)). :D

Ultimate also came out for SNES. I think I have the ROM of it... But you'd probably want to get the MAME ROM of it, since their roms alwasy look a helluva lot better than SNES games...

subzero was for the 64, as i recall.
