Thanks Lorath lol I forgot to mention that - Yeah I've don the individual installs before, the cumulative installer is just more convenient than doing all the mods separately. It's only $2.99 at the least - so if Mcindus offers it again for the remaster i don't mind donating again just for the convenience. :)

Edit: link to the installer for those who are curious - http://mcindusmods.pcriot.com/Lunatic-Pandora/

I have a question because I don't remember now lol - I bought the Lunatic Pandora mod almost 2 years ago to the day and I didn't know - do we get updates to that? Do we get this upgrade? or do we have to buy it anew? Just curious - I looked a few weeks ago and didn't see any way to redownload the one I bought, so wasn't sure. Thanks Mcindus for all you're doing for us! Can't wait to have the ultimate version of FF8!!

I hope it all works together! Let me know! Thanks, I'm glad it helped!! :)

Hey vegetamaker, In case your having the same issue, what fixed it for me was turning off Windows Data Execution Prevention (D.E.P.) You can either add the .exe file you want to use to the exclusions, or just turn it off for everything not windows related. I've been working on this for a week, just finally got it tracked down to this!

I want to report that I have used this mod many times in the past. When Remako had a beta, I reinstalled everything and it was working smooth. Now that the mod was in version 1 - out of beta I wanted to test it again and I also wanted to try out the Echo-S Demo. So I unzipped my install to try and I was either getting Fatal Error Crashes or No Warning Crashes, just the beep and then game never loads. I had tracked it down to using the 60 FPS Battles, Skip Cutscenes and the Reunion Beacause & Menu Overhaul - which also prevented me from using Echo-S. If I disabled those from my normal mod loadout and used the FF7.exe then everything worked. I finally had given up until last night and decided to work on another game, Final Fantasy XIII, and it wouldn't boot either. The culprit ended up being Data Execution Prevention (D.E.P.). Adding the FFXIII exe to that made it work, so I tried it on just the Menu Overhaul mod and FF7_mo.exe, and it worked. So I turned D.E.P. off and now everything is working again. I'm assuming that a recent Windows Update must have done something to D.E.P.. So to anyone who's having weird crashes on launch when you never did, or to anyone new having issues and the other fixes don't work, look into Windows D.E.P.!

So I have figured out my problem. I'm going to start a new topic about it to help anyone else in that situation. My problem ended up being Windows Data Execution Prevention (D.E.P.) was shutting things down when certain mods were active. I had finally given up on working on this for a while, and was messing with getting some of my other games installed and Final Fantasy XIII wouldn't start either, and after a few hours digging into that, someone recommended checking Windows Event Log, and I found the error there, googled it and found out it was related to D.E.P., shut it off, and bam the game worked, so I thought, I wonder if that could have been FF7 problem, and sure enough! Now Ive got everything working and even added in the updated Remako mod and the Echo-S Demo, and everything seems to be working! (Granted, I'm at work and am remote controlling my pc at home to check but other than not knowing if the audio is working the game booted and I was able to play for a few minutes. I wonder if D.E.P. got an update or something? This was working fine a few months ago. So could a mod mark this as solved for me? Thanks!

Okay, another update: after some more looking around and messing with stuff, I realized I can't have an updated Cloud Field Model and Dynamic Weapons, so I fixed that - not a make or break I guess lol. I got the skip cutscenes to work once, then after a close and reopen the game it's back to not loading when skip cutscenes is checked. I realized that mod compatibility issues don't show when I rename mods lol so no more doing that. So I'm going to try once more to purge everything and reinstall, checking 1 at a time. After uninstalling and running the keys cleanup and ccleaner, is there anything else anywhere I need to clean? One thing was I didn't know about the folder in appdata, and mine was "compressed" because windows keeps doing that to me and I uncompressed it, that was the 1 time the skip cutscenes worked. So I want to start fresh one more time - I just want to make absolutely sure that I start as fresh as I can!! Thanks again for any help guys - this is my favorite FF game, and I love showing it off - so I'm sad! I can always play my original ps1 version even - but love it this way!

I'm glad it's not just me - I've had these same issues - I'm to the point where I can't use 60 fps battle, the reunion menu overhaul, skip cutscenes and the updated Cloud field model and updated character portraits. Are  you on windows 10? I'm starting to wonder if something changed in an update, and it's starting to bork our mods? I posted here http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=18922.0 in case anyone gives me an answer that can help you, I'll keep checking your post too!

Oh yes, every time i try again its the first thing i do, run the converter, check my sound & midi, no to the laptop patch (I'm on a laptop, but have a numpad). And the converter is on a clean install, I've run the converter uninstall & I've overwrote as well. The only problem I usually have when unzipping is I have to rerun the converter and do the sound check again, and everything used to work fine. Now....no go....

I can say that I once more started over, redownloaded each mod and then tested each one. The mods I'm still having issues with are as follows:

Field Models Objects - Selecting Animations - 60 FPS Battles
Game won't start

Field Models Main Characters - Cloud - Selecting whtRaven
Sword doesn't appear on Clouds back anymore

Gameplay Tweaks & Cheats - Skip Cutscenes
Game doesn't load at all, the little black screen pops up in the left for a second then closes, no error

Menu Avatars & Backdrops - Set them all to Milo Leonhart but they're not displaying in game

The Reunion Beacause and Menu Overhaul - Menu Overhaul - Using ff7_mo.exe
I get the Oops! Something very bad happened error

I can live without the menu overhaul, although I'd like to try to use the Echo-S mod which needs it, but the Avatars and skip cutscenes and 60 fps battles and the sword on his back are all ones I would like to still have! Hopefully that helps narrow down my problem? lol

Hi guys, I've been using this mod for years - it's always worked great and I love it. Last time I worked on it was when the Remako beta came out, and it was working great then. I'm no stranger to making this work. I usually get it all set up, and then zip my game and the mod install so it's ready to go when I am. I also have a clean install zipped in case I have to reinstall everything. I have all the mods zipped separately for fast installation. BTW, since load order is so important you can actually rename the mods with #'s in the front of the first 5-6 , then let the alphabetical take over. Anyway, I decided I was going to try the Echo-S mod & also update Remako to the version they've released. With Echo-S I was getting crashes and the game wouldn't start. I kept messing with stuff, even tried installing the newer version of The Reunion Because & Menu Overhaul mod, and followed an instruction for getting it to kinda work with the remako beta mod. Kinda had it working but preferred all my mods from 7th Heaven so wanted to go back to it. But it wouldn't start if I had the Menu Overhaul from the catalog activated - which never happened before. Then I started having issues with the Tweaks and Cheats config, if I had the skip cutscenes and sync Barret Opening checked the game wouldn't load. Now I can't get any of it to work. I have uninstalled, restored my premodded version, my fresh version, tried to remod it, ran the keys cleaner, CCleaner. I've tried using the different .exe files depending on what mods I had selected. Everytime now is just a fatal error - I'll post the screenshot of it. I don't know what's happened, but I miss my mods!! If anyone can shed some light on my issue, I would sure appreciate it!  https://imgur.com/tLadMsc

kidalot, did you follow this part exactly?  With antivirus/firewall disabled?  This says to save right after you get past the counter, and I assume you would change everything back right after that.

➣ I can't see the counters for the Shinra Mansion Safe, Junon Parade, Gaea's Cliff, Rocket Launch Countdown, etc.

Make a backup of [gamedir]\mods\Bootleg.
Install Menu Overhaul with "Re-Translation Project [R04]" checked.
Go to [gamedir]\mods\DK and copy all its contents to [gamedir]\mods\Bootleg. Overwrite everything when asked.
Open up Bootloader Configure and change the Mod Path back to "Bootleg" OR open ff7_opengl.cfg with Notepad and edit mod_path = Bootleg. Be sure to save the file.
Play the game passed the counter and save right after.
If you don't like the translated text, run Menu Overhaul again with "Uninstall this mod" checked at the bottom.
Go to the backup from Step 1 and copy all its contents to [gamedir]\mods\Bootleg. Overwrite everything when asked.

Okay, so I seem to have finally gotten it but not sure what finally did the trick.  I'm pretty sure I tried all these things only made 1 change this time.  Also - when I deleted everything out of the registry somehow I couldn't get the regular FF7 installer on the disc to run, finally traced that to somehow my Everything program was using the installer and making it hang, I had to analyze the wait chain on the installer and end the everything task to get it to work, weird!  Anyway, I got everything uninstalled, installed the game, then ran the bootleg installer from c:\bootleg040 with the Remix installer files dumped in there with the program and eveything.  The only change I made then was to change the temp directory to somewhere else, and it worked flawlessly!  I finished installing remotely (I'm at work) and I was able to boot the game and get to the start screen, but couldn't do anything from there but may be a problem trying to do it through teamviewer - I'll update once I get home and can actually try it.  So Windows 10 should work just as good for this mod.  Thanks for such a great mod and a great community of people to help with it!

Update:  Game works perfectly - I think I borked the first install by installing avalanch after running the bootleg, I couldn't remember what I had done the first time around and had that file out on its own.  I know I followed the directions but for some reason I thought I needed that too - I keep a detailed spreadsheet of how to install all my games and the settings used but had never done that for FF7, so I thought my windows 10 reinstall would be a good time to do so, that's why I didn't know what I was doing for sure lol.

Hey everyone - I've tried to skim through this thread but I haven't come across the problem I'm having.  I have sucessefully run this mod before on windows 8 and it was great, now I've upgraded to windows 10 and am reinstalling all my games.  I was able to install FF7, run the bootleg and everything seemed fine other than the opening credits, start screen weren't the ones I picked, and the text was kind of weird (too big and overlapping), then after starting, the first battle the game would just hang.  So i uninstalled the game the "approved" way and tried to reinstall, and ever since then I've been getting this error after unpacking sprinkles -

I've tried to uninstall, install in other places, I've even manually gone through the registry and deleted every possible thing pertaining to FF7 first, and still I can't seem to get it to work.  Any suggestions?

Also, I did try to download the remix installer and place it in there.
