General Discussion / [SPOILERS] Remake part 2 theories...

So as those that have played remake and kept up with the latest remake related info should understand remake is more of a requel then a straight remake, I'm now curious as to what others think lies ahead for remake part 2, I have a couple of theories oh the direction they might take it so I'll briefly share the 3 of them.

On a side note I would prefer to keep this thread positive so if you didn't enjoy remake or can't see how part 2 can be positive based off your experience please stfu and avoid this thread.

Now that's out of the way first theory has more to do with part 1, or rather part 1 alternate,  as we found out Zack survives his ultimate fate, an alternate run through midgar with Zack teaching cloud how to be soldier as a new game plus option, cloud starts running with a firearms cause he has experience slowly working towards the buster sword as they find out piece by piece just how much hojo messed with cloud mind fractures and all.

Theory 2
Remake part 2 starts following normal progression of og7s story with minor world building changes, but every so often we get Laguna-esk sections where we are playing as Zack with some alternate timeline shenanigans no real story changes but some characters get elevated to playable rather then being straight side characters e.g Jessie and Leslie cause shinra manages to re-secure cloud as a test subject. All culminating in a timeline convergence where test subject cloud takes remake clouds place around temple of the ancients/aeriths death

Theory 3
Story progresses as normal however with branching paths having multiple endings, possible to have Zack as a party member, saving aerith, losing other characters,  depending on choices made through the game, side quests completed and materia levels.

All with save data pulled from part 1, quality of life enhancements like materia loadouts improvements to aerial combat,more materia variety, ai-gambit system and a level 100 cap leading into part 3

I've been away for a while, every now and then i come up with some novel ideas there is one in particular that has been resurfacing allot lately weapons with animations which leads to the question

Is it or is it not possible to set the weapon model of say rtck so that the game reads rtck and zzaa or some such which would be something like a chain gun so that it could have multiple parts and animations as well as a separate skin

I've been floating around for a while know and i have been wondering just how much power does the field script in Final fantasy 7 have for example

would it be possible to load an external program at certain point in the game  to say load a Real time Battle module or a newgame+ type thing

i know FF7music uses a hook system to override the base midi in FF7 would that sort of thing work for other things

Heres a question for all those with substantial computer knowledge how do i get FF7 to run in FreeBSD/other Unix based operating systems i.e Mac OS any help would be much appreciated and all helpers will get a gold star of L337N355

ok i was wondering if anyone had decoded the **ab file thats asociated with the battle models in final fantay 7 if so i was wondering what exactly it is.

my limited knowledge leads me to believe that it may be a key file of some discription which is used to call animations in game that is my theory anyway time to make it a hypothosis and test what happens if i change things in it

after extensive testing i've come up with the belief that its a look up table either that or uncompressed animations or camera points i havent tested far enough yet to be able to tell for certain but i did get another character to use braver

Due it lack of funds and bad luck with melting ram to my motherboard :( :( :( i no longer have a pc able to run 3dmax so I'm working with Kimera again so hes a screen of my new Wip at the moment im still working on the low-poly end of the spectrum but expect it to get closer to real in time which i don't have much free of.

I'm working on a Pentium III 733MHz pc with a MX440 256mb ram with a Crappy 14 inch fishbowl my monitor is being used by a family member seeing as i was with a pc for about 3 weeks i haven't got it back yet :(

Basically this is a see what sort of interest there is thread if theres not enough interest I'm not likely to go ahead.

Troubleshooting / LPGtools question

so heres the question ive extracted a texture file with Lpgtools so its a Bitmap (10975.BMP) not how do i go about turning it back into a texture file i.e (RTAC)

one other question what exactly does the link function in the advanced edit button do
