The added detail is nice, but the uniform green of the original was done on purpose. It's a lot easier to read the text in front of it.

Oh My Gosh, Thank you so much, @Zendar, I appreciate your work here. Can't wait to try it. Have you seen the Youtube.com videos that show the birth of the idea, "Coin?" They are pretty sweet.

I've been waiting for Felix to redo these also :P Good work btw :)

I'd prefer you have kept the original symbols, Luksy left the documentation on a thread of mine somewhere.

i used the original file and applied some filters this was the result
if you look carefully you can see the original symbols still present.

and just for giggles a cyan colored timer  :P

The original symbols are Japanese Kanji (or chinese hanzi I cannot remember).  They are not squiggly lines :)  It would be cool if you could keep those as they are.  The coins in VII are real life coins from many many years ago.

That's right.  There is a better one somewhere that Luksy put up..  complete with the symbols in text.

Here we go:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Chinese_coinage#The_Tang_Dynasty

I am not sure what symbols the ff7 coin uses but similar to this (there are tons of variants see wiki page).  Luksy would know.

thank you this will be of great help to me  ;)

The added detail is nice, but the uniform green of the original was done on purpose. It's a lot easier to read the text in front of it.

The green hides the fact you can read the menu behind the skill window
i found i could still read the normal menu behind the coin animation when i used
the new transparent ones i made after getting the original coin picture for reference

I like that, the only problem is the bottom hanzi is not meant to have a squiggle.  That is because the coin Luksy posted is worn away.  Have a look here at bottom symbol.

I suppose yours still looks really good but also be good if you could get the symbol closer.  Prob best waiting for Luksy too, cause he will know more about how it should look on coin.

You've gone a good job btw!

I'm going to call them like I see them.

While I rarely use the coin command (mostly never) looking at that texture does kind of scream "redo me". I like where this re texting is going, but I have some issues with versions 4 and 5.

V4 has very defined ripples. Looks a little hypnotic. Maybe make them not go so far out from the coin and diffuse them a little so they look less like neon strings and more like waves.

V5 is very bright. The contrast of th characters makes them almost as illegible as the original texture especially because they'll be scrolling.

I like the pic DLPB posted, but that bg color is unflattering.

That's just my opinion so take it for what it's worth. I'm also terrible with graphics so I won't be offended if you shoot me down. :)

even if thats so the coin worn away looks nice enough and my last ones will be as realistic as i could make it look

Sorry for necroposting, but I can't find the answer to this anywhere and I feel like this thread is the best place for my questions.

- zendar has uploaded a lot of different designs. I can only use one of them at a time, correct?
- My modpath is "mods/Avalanche". Should I place the file in "mods/Avalanche/menu"?

Maybe I managed to answer everything myself, but I just want to make sure I'm integrating this correctly ;).
