Which is, fortunately, not something you need a rank to have.  :D

That would be a cache problem. Next time, if that happens, try loading the topic and holding SHIFT while clicking Refresh (or Reload), depending on your browser.

Ah. But most religious people probably would have taken that very seriously.  :)

Well, you are certainly entitled to your own opinion. Careful there, though, if you're going to start calling religion an inferiority complex. There's few quicker ways to make people upset.

Actually, atheism pretty much is a religion. The athiest firmly believes that there is no god. The dictionary definition of "religion" is as follows (note definitions 3 and 4):

Quote
1 : the service and worship of God or the supernatural 2 : a devotion to religious faith 3 : a personal set or institionalized system of religious beliefs, attitudes,  and practices 4 : a cause, principle, or belief held to with faith and ardor

Caddberry: Perverts must have all the time in the world (judging by all the trash they create).

M0T: If we're going to be correcting grammar, then you should know that that was a run-on sentence.  :)

If you'd bother to look at the link, it's pretty to see where the typo is. Of course, I don't really advocate fixing it and going there. For most people it ain't worth it.

General Discussion / FF7 bike game
« on: 2001-04-16 21:17:00 »
Did you try The SaiNt’s suggestion? I have FF7 installed on the family P3 733, and IIRC I’ve played G Bike. I don’t remember it being too fast. I had the settings in the FF7 configuration as 640x480 res. and the primary display settings as Software Renderer. Some other things you could try for a slowdown:
1. Use the Yamaha Synthesizer (if you're not already). That seems to consume a fair amount of system resources. Make sure you set it on the Soft (not Lite) and crank up the CPU percentage slider.
2. Try a standard install (not full). IIRC, G Bike and most (all?) of the other minigames aren't copied to your hard drive in a standard install. Access times (and hopefully the speed of G Bike) should slow down because it's accessed from the cds.

Dry Ice CO2: Are you *sure* this is your first post? I seem to remember some unregistered user posting here under that name before... I guess maybe I'd better do some back checking.

If only everyone in America would listen to Shock Rock all day. Then we would all have peace, love, and destruction. I hope it happens soon.

General Discussion / PCI device help please?
« on: 2001-04-14 02:26:00 »
Joey's position is overkill, but he brings up a good point. *If* you decide to overclock, you need to know exactly what you're doing. There are a lot of potential side effects (such as heat and controller issues), and overclocking *will* void your warranty. Still, for someone who knows what they are doing it's usually worth it. Now Joey, are you speaking from personal experience?   Bought a new motherboard and tried to overclock that 486 of yours to 800MHz by any chance?   (I just couldn't resist...)

General Discussion / SBLive! vs. SBLive! Platinum
« on: 2001-04-09 20:26:00 »
Another difference is software packages. IIRC, there's three different SBLive!s. XGamer, MP3+, and Platinum (current versions are 5.1). XGamer and MP3+ are designed for the user on a budget. XGamer has a few games, and MP3+ has some various sound software packages. Platinum has most of the software of the other two, plus some extras, and, like Dagsverre said, a tray that goes on the front of your PC. The tray has all kinds of ports, you can even hook up an instrument to it (i.e. a keyboard).

That's about right. Sometimes though, my mouse double-clicks for no reason and it hits submit twice. I don't know why the flood control doesn't catch it though...

Mot: a)Heh. Just a guess, does that you mean you're a "punk"?  :)

RE: racing. You missed the big race. The Skillster and I were head to head for both Insane Poster and for Freak. I guess we should be gunning it out right now for No Life, but right now it's only him (sort of). I guess maybe I should shift things into high gear?  :D Ah, the good ol' days.

That's great that he's credited Qhimm, but if/until he posts his source, he's still in trouble ...I think.

HSC 14233 JVS: Nice entrance. Most people don’t make their first post something so dramatic like that.  :)
