We don't seem to have one started now that the english release is out, so I'll go first.  Just got the game the other day, seems way more polished and fun than FFX from what I've played so far.  The dressphere system is... well, interesting.  Your thoughts?

Just don't visit the Hot Spots, until you go to the other areas first.

Well, the last hot spot area anyway. But you don't know the final hotspot, until you finish it.

Not a great story compared to FFX... but I think its more fun. The battle system is much better.

I beat the game the yesterday at 55% completion, so I bought the strategy guide, and I'll start my game to get 100% today.

i played some of it on the jap version, till my ps2 started being like a rental machine, and only letting me play burnt dvd+rs once, and then not seeing the dvd after that.
I think it felt well corny at the start, something not akin to FFX
but as a seperate game i think it is well done
Try to think of it as not a final fantasy , then you can play it without fearing a change in the style of the series.

55%?... Boy, Guess you missed a lot of it.

You don't need a strategy guide...all you need to do is visit all the areas, after doing 'one' hotspot area. Do, that for every chapter..... It's also a good idea to visit the Calm lands first....to get the square button menu activated, for a couple of sidequest..

Sorry for bringing this post back up after a month... but does anyone know how to get into the monster arena in Chapter 2?  It says Clasko should be there but he's not and it won't let me in.  Did I miss something that needs to be accomplished prior to going here?

You needed to get him on your Airship on Chapter 1. He was walking around outside of the Youth League. I remember talking to him once and he says something or other....kinda depressed. Then I left and came back later on, and found him in the same area, but a different location....And I think I talked to him 2 or 3 times, and Yuna gave him an invitation. Later on...well...I guess I'll stop there.

But there is a point where he gets off the Airship, if you do a sidequest...and you have to reinvite him and maybe one other person. At least that's how it worked for me. But I don't know if that sidequest is really neccessary or not.

I don't know if he will just show up in Chapter 5 or not....but being that it's a Plus game....I'm betting, "Not".

And I don't remember what chapter he decides to do the Ranch thing....I think you need to show up in the old monster arena of the Calm Lands.

I managed to beat the game at 90% without a guide.....but I got the normal ending. I missed a few Crimson Spheres....somewhere.

Hi!

Although it looks like it won't sell as many as FFX, Yuna with guns looks really cool! Heehee!  :D

I think the switch to Lady Luck...to be the best looking...but mainly Yuna's....the other are pretty good, too....

And why about being upset about the International version.....guess. I live in the states.

Aaw man, I really can't wait till it gets released here. But then I guess we are always one of the last ones to have stuff, so Í'm getting used to it.
I can't play it myslef however, haven't got a PS2, but a friend of mine is already planning and counting the days till it gets released, so I'll play it at their places then. But from what I've heard so far from you guys, it's a little disappointing, or what? Is it better or worse than FFX? Cause FFX is really good (FFVII still rules everything, but that's not the point atm) and I was expecting FFX-2 to be a lot better, but perhaps not, that could be. Well still got to wait a little longer. February, when's februay again?

Well, I can tell you that it's not better....I'd put it on the bottom of the FF list that I've played so far (FF7 and up). Which means it's still a good game, but it's kinda....I don't know...not as serious or as gripping as the others. Since just about every mission is optional....it kinda loses it's flow.
