yeah but I still don't understand. When I go to a place when black squares appears (in fact, they are already here when I arrive at the place, there aren't more of these who will appear while I'm staying in the same place (when the game doesn't load another place)). And if I go back where I came from (in a place the game has already loaded), there isn't any black squares. Still I don't feel like my laptop is warmer than usual  :P

PS: sorry for my bad English.

In Wall Market, Cloud become a shadow and the screen is dark with black squares. How can I fix it?
Of FF8 I heard something, but not from FF7.
The only help I can offer, install a different (older or newer) graphics card driver.

Please make a screenshot of it.
For this, however, you need a special program (I use FRAPS), the "Print Screen" button does not work properly in full-screen mode.

Awesome, after uninstalling driver, restart, install the recommended - I have Graphics!

Thanks all.

Now; I'm very confidant that the high def movies aren't playing. I've posted before about missing files during the unpack, though I've got the full Tifa's package etc.

So close!

Um, another thing:

Past the intro movie, no music.

Other sounds work, lick the tick when you move the cursor around, machine gun sounds etc. But none of the glorious music.

Can GIMP preserve transparency?

It can. I haven't used it lately so I forget if it's defaulted or if it's a setting but I remember it being pretty easy to do.

As far a black squares on the screen this happened to me once. I was testing some changes I made to the flevel.lgp and it caused massive black squares in the background, sometimes nearly removing everything. NPCs were solid black too. Best suggestion is either replace the flevel with an original or probably try a reinstallation. Hard to say what may have happened, but when nothing seems to fix a problem just reinstall the game.

Hey guys, so the other day, i ran into some major graphical problems with FF7, and i've been unable to resolve them myself. I've completely uninstalled the game, then re-installed and re-used Bootleg, but the problems remain. I've attached screenshots showing the issues i'm having.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer guys.

From about an hour ago:
Quote
Try this maybe?
Quote
FIX :  Everything is made of light  (FF7 + FF8)

ff7_opengl.cfg :  use_shaders = yes

Download these files and copy them to .\shaders\nolightmain.frag   main.vert
(overwrite? => YES)

Have you read this part?
I told you I tried on a friend's PC with Radeon 5570 still giving me exact same white texture error. And that my friend is an ATI card. You guys totally missed this part.
Sorry, I stopped reading when you said you were using an integrated graphics chip from 10 years ago.
EDIT:
Hi Kylos,

you can use two solutions:
  • ff7_opengl.cfg:  use_shaders = no
or
  • copy .\shaders\nolight\*.*   obsolete
       to  .\shaders

Apparently your only option is to turn shaders off, at the moment.
Hey PitBrat? Do you have these files anymore?

EDIT: Thanks, Komp. New links for no light fix added to FAQ

hey thanks for the quick reply, i just wanna let you know that the links are apparently dead, or otherwise inaccessible to me, however disabling shaders does seem to have fixed the problem. Thanks so much.

unfortunately that shaders fix doesn't seem to work for me, but disabling shaders has fixed the game, thanks though!

Hey guys, I downloaded the whole Tifa's Bootleg package from Utorrent, followed every step, but I've been having a problem with a scene in Tifa's Bar.

The game just crashes after a scene with Sephiroth talking about materia, I have the log, sorry if this is too long.

Steam install? Have you played a lot already and then run into this bug out of nowhere or did you have a savegame there and pretty much started having issues right away?
Looks like maybe did not use GameConverter or moved your install improperly at a glance. Not sure. It's looking for files that aren't named what they should be maybe... You meant to play in English correct? Whats your install path for the game/steam?

Your flevel.lgp didn't compile correctly during the installation. I don't know what mods you've chosen to know whether that's a modded or vanilla whitebg2, but it needs to be compiled into your flevel.lgp to get past the crash.

So do I fix this by a full reinstall?

I downloaded the Utorrent of Tifa's Package, set stuff up just like the video you have.

If this was an error on my part (which i know it was) is there an easy fix?

If you wanna speed up Bootleg reinstall try this
If you selected field scenes mods that are placed in their own folder in Mods folder just move em to Desktop, untick those same options in Bootleg program once done drag em back to the mods folder this helped me save like around 10mind on a reinstall

Hey all. Game working fine, however:

Is there a way to revert the 'Tiny Bronco' to it's original look?

Not a fan of the Spanish Galleon it has become.

Either pull it out of the original lgp file you may have backed up, or you'll have to reinstall the game. You can overwrite somethings with another run of bootleg, but anything you want to revert back to the original of will require a back up or reinstall.

If you're not familiar with Ulgp and manually replacing models, then I would just reinstall the game. Make sure you move the save folder somewhere safe.

So, there is an option for the galleon during bootleg install I can disable? Can you advise of where this option is please.
Happy to alter ldp files, please advise name and location and what is required.

Make sure the highlighted option is unchecked. As your mouse pointer passes over different mod options they will often display preview pictures in the upper left. I personally like the ship and tank.

If you know how to inject mods into lgp files manually then you could choose between the two models or both. Since Kuroda Masahiro has given permission to mirror that mod through 7thHeaven (Iros's new mod-manager for FF7) I may set it up so you have the option to install either of the two models. In 7thHeaven if you decide to change a mod like you are wanting, you won't have to reinstall bootleg if you have it, this will probably be implemented through "vanilla patches" from 7thHeaven subscription or via download available here when and if they are completed. 7thHeaven is completely compatible with bootleg40.

Isn't there a fix for Cid's Hyper Jump limit break yet to stop it from crashing? :(
"If you use Cid's level 2 limit break "Hyper Jump" on an enemy that is immune to instant death, the game crashes." I don't know if this is true but it's what I found by searching the internet. Anyway, I hope this information can be useful for someone to fix it.

Well this thread is for Bootleg, so have you tested his L2LB on a game modded with Bootleg? I can't say I ever experienced this crash, but I also rarely play Cid.

Lol I don't know what you mean by L2LB, but yeah my game is modded with Bootleg. From what I searched this is a problem in the game itself, not because of any mods. And that even the 2012 version still has this error. In case you're willing to try it for yourself this crash don't always happen. It happens most when you use it on bosses or multiple enemies. It happens right when Cid's blast starts to fade away.

Hello there, i need to ask about a bug. Can't use Cloud APZ and Team Avalanche models. On field view Cloud looks with sword, but i choose with no sword. In towns i can't even see Cloud. Looks like some missing textures. Alla the others are working pretty nice though.

Thanks
