Mugen is so unbalanced though.
That's an assumption. M.U.G.E.N. is simply an engine (Elecbyte even states that), it's up to you to turn it into a game. Hence why you can edit and customize anything. It's tedious, but he has done the hardest part for the end user (you)and made the foundation for a fighting game. Try asking ¢ap¢om to put those characters into a game and they never would, but you can. If you wanted to.


As I never answered your topic question, My team would be:
Nyarlethotep - Crawling Chaos (Persona 2: Innocent Sin)
KOS-MOS (Xenosaga 1 (3?))
Paavo (Alter Echo)

Since Nyarlethotep doesn't really have it's own form... It be interesting if when it used attacks it would become one of the fighters (sort of like Twelve in SF3 did) of the game for that attack (which would use most of the characters depending on how many there would be of course), and would be difficult to realisticly implement I'd have to say:
The Red Pyramid Thing - Sword (Silent Hill 2) instead.

I'm looking to request any field that someone has already modified with whatever they have in it (NPCs, new Materia, etc) to upload it or if they can upload it? If they wouldn't mind.

Know that to adhere to the forum rules, could someone upload a patch file for a field file?
That would be incredible an assistance in helping me (and of course many others) understand how to apply changes to an existing field script. I wish to make some fresh ones, but all I seem to be able to do is swap received items/Materia and change the music, battles, and npc models.


I hope this is in the right section as it's related to FFVII.

I don't know if anyone has asked for this feature (I searched a few pages and did not find anything) in WallMarket.
Is it possible that you could allow pasting certain (or all) entries of pages like the Hojo editor could for certain things? Like when editing a weapon you can press a copy button that adds all of that page's or tab's data (Text and Values) to the clipboard and a paste button so that you can go to a different weapon and press it to fill it with all the values from the copied page. It would be great if this was done for most of the tabs, Weapon, Attack, Initial Data, Materia, Armor, Acessory, Items.

Are you able to do that? That would make modifying the Kernel en-mass much easier.

Interesting, Poofacetherisen. But what case would you claim for 1) : ? You wrote 'educational', but it looks a little far-fetched to me...
I was providing an example, in case you were not aware.
And you, can legally contend "this forums' rules" in court or with a letter if you wished, about Fair Use regarding copy written uploaded content (if the topic starter chooses so of course). However you'd have to contact the board host or the registered owner of this domain, to arrange such.
Asking me for why (or the reasons) the topic starter should upload augmented copyright content under Fair Use is unnecessary because I'm not him.

I'd upload under Fair Use for criticism and comment. Like you would with an AMV on YouTube.

It's not allowed to distribute the whole files and all, so the first download must be taken down.
Actually he can (if he's a citizen of the United States of America), if he re-writes his post and presents the modified file under Fair Use, 17 U.S.C. 107. And specifies under which sections he intends as the reasons for it being of fair use (non-profit, educational, etc), he legally then can. It hit me as I was fixing this that I want to make it more like the tool Square was likely using to create the scene.bin in the first place. What I envision is there are entries for enemies, attacks, and scenes. Specifically, a list of each and a form for each. During saving, the tool would combine them all based on the formation data entries.
If you do this, can you allow copying and pasting of enemy entries (collectively, like the whole form) into/over another enemy's form/entry (or whatever it's called)?
Which would make using already made enemies as a template for a stronger one or "Uber" boss far easier and quicker.

You can make non-random enemies drop materia via field scripting. Think about the Ifrit materia Jenova-BIRTH leaves behind.
Yep, I'm aware. I've just had some 'hair-tearing' problems with field scripting, so I had previously thought I was able to get by using the battle drops. But meh, whatever guess I have to slowly learn instead.

This new PrC will accept either KERNEL.BIN or kernel2.bin attack/item names (no, enemies never carry materia either dropped or stolen. You either find it or buy it).
Serious? Wow, and I was going to have enemies and bosses drop many attribute related Materia.

There are only 3 characters in battle.  Multiplayer would be Player 2 controlling 1 character, or 2, but then Player 1 only controls 1 character.  Sounds boring.

Player 1:  "I'm gonna use 4x-Cut/KOR/Ultima."
Player 2:  "Alrite, maybe I will get to attack next battle."

However, assuming someone could get the 2nd controller to work...what if Player 1 controlled the Party, and Player 2 controlled the enemies (even if P1 controlled 2 party members and P2 controlled an auto-manipulated enemy/enemies)?  That sounds awesome.  Doesn't sound like too much of a stretch for the collective wisdom of qhimm forums.

THAT is a good idea, if one were to pursue multiplayer...
But before anyone jumps on the bandwagon for this shouldn't we (or the coders) try finishing what they're doing now. I mean I'd like if I could mo-cap animations for battle/field/world map. And a bunch of other things that we have knowledge of, but shouldn't our priorities be in order?

Calm yourself, child. Terence isn't wrong. He's just not explaining things technically.
Stat bonuses get saved as percentages. Since the percentage is stored as a word and cumulative it can go up to 65535%.
CAVEAT: before they're applied they're all forced to be no greater than 100. So while it is possible that your HP Pluses can grant you +255% of a stat each, the total bonus will be reduced to 100%.

Gil is also forced to be between 100% and 200% of the defeated enemies' gil. It will never be greater than double and never less than single.
Do you think that "forcing" value would be in the .exe in a raw form (e.g. 64h = 100%)? Maybe the value could be found alongside some simple algorithms too near battle related addresses.

They could, but it's not a great way of preserving a wiki, as standalone HTML+CSS won't edit.

It's probably better to take a backup of the database periodically. I wouldn't stick it on a public mirror, though.

If editing doesn't matter, it's probably better to do a mass print.

Could someone back up the wiki on their hard drive as offline usable .html files? You know just incase it crashes or something, and upload it to mediafire so reading them could go by faster? I'd do it if I could, but I don't know how to get all of the page content, I only get text.

Yep, you need the item/materia (can enemies drop materia?) names, Hojo couldn't do that and it really made things difficult.

Here are the attack sound charts for all of the shifts (Wallmarket).

or if you already have both just go ahead and tinker with the
sounds. I found found this out a few weeks ago when I was trying to figure
out why some sounds lined up with Cosmo and others did not.

I also went through all of the attack textures in Wallmarket and they only
go up to 47h, anything from there on crashes the game. There may be a
miracle value that doesn't, but I did not have the patience to check past
7Fh. An .gif list is enclosed in a .rar file at the bottom of this post

Enemy-only abilities would be redundant and worthless. Enemy-only abilities need to stay in the "enemy only action" index range of 100h - 3FFh. I THINK it can go higher than that, but I've yet to try.

Oddly enough with the Master Magic materia, it adds the two attacks between Shield and Choco/Mog as "accessible", but since they aren't in the menu you can't use them. There's only 54 spaces available in the menu and the magic menu table in the KERNEL.BIN ends with the two being placed in "magic limbo". The magic table is now confirmed to ignore the final two bytes (I just now decided to check this for the PC version :?: ). It stops looking at them at index 35h and then the loop "magic category assigning" loop will end.

Ergo, those attacks CANNOT be placed in the magic menu.

The best way to use those attacks is to link to them via the "use additional attack" effect like Blade Beam or Satan Slam does.
Wouldn't it be possible to hack it's value and allow the program to scan 3 more values? With a hook or disassembly.

I know double-posting isn't generally allowed, but I have a request for the next release (if there is so) : The possibility of editing limit breaks data. Some can be edited, but not all. It would be good IMO.
You know, not many people are active everyday so regardless, they'll see your posts. Just edit them.

Secondly, I doubt NFITC1 will update his program, unless there are some bugs that need ironing or someone figures out what the many "unknown" values control. All should be editable, but they're not all in the KERNEL.BIN they're in the ff7.exe (for the PC version)
