Hey there, have a few problems with the mod, specifically when I enter a battle scene it crashes. I've tried disabling mods to see if the problem goes away, and only when ESUI was disabled did battles start working again. Here's my profile details:

Not sure how often this thread is active, so I'll be checking frequently for awhile. Hopefully this is an easy fix, and I'm just too dumb to realize what's happening.
Sorry for the late reply, when I can I will have a check with the settings that you posted, even if I find no issues I will respond to let you know I checked and with any suggestions.

Probably related to this.

I see that in the textboxs  when the dialogue makes scroll happens this. Not enough scroll, so the last line dont show correctly :/


I was testing and seems to be related to this hex values .

You can adjust those values but will break new threat in the mansion as a consequence, the new threat and echos devs worked on making sure was no text boxes with scrolling and was decided to leave the settings as is but with risk of seeing text overflow top of box on smaller box border sizes.  I did document the hext as you found, so anyone can tweak if they want to.  If you want further help in this, I will get back when I can.

Only noticed artifacts on the Limit and Time bars, maybe a little bit on the Barrier bars:)
Sorry for responding late, there is an option in the mod to reduce/remove artefacts, you can try enabling that.

Regarding the world map request earlier in the thread, a new one did get added back when I released the widescreen version of ESUI as the author never responded to me, the new one in ESUI was done by myself.  Rescaled and enhanced from the stock world map, with increased contrast as well against background.
Bonez added a very good world map on finishing touch and we still have the older retextured world map in the catalog as well so is plenty of choices now.

Hey, thanks for this mod, its really great, especially the controller buttons.

Is it a known issue when I enable widescreen (16:9) that I get battle menu artifacts? And enabling battle menu artifact fix doesn't fix the issue.

DLPB/kranmer with Menu Overhaul is the origin of that code
The block at the top is just the window.bin addresses (which he doesnt want he is using his own spaces), the code that modifies it I added to ESUI, it was not a part of menu overhaul (which was distributed with window.bin for the spacing).

Hi, i have a problem with the mod or, must say , a compatibility problem :/
Recently, i updated the Esui mod, and its seems that now it changes, by hex code ,the font spacing . The problem is that i also has my own text fonts with the window.bin edited, and the hex codes has more priority that the window.bin. So...i cant do nothing to make my mods and ESUI compatibles, except.... that i need permission to use  the hex edits ,modified with my values, to use it in my mod, so with this i can maintain my own settings for my mod ,with ESUI activated.
Of course i will give the corresponding credits to the mod and the person that found this hex codes (Chrysalis i suppose xD)

Hi Chrysalis,

First of all, thank you for this mod! It's literally game changing, and has allowed me to get into a great game whose pixelated UI was otherwise a turnoff.

I just wanted to let you know that there's a slight graphical error that's happening to the limit break window with the new 16:9 FFNx settings, where the background color extends beyond the box border. I screen-capped it.



It only seems to affect this window, but it does this for every character. Yours was the only mod running at the time I took this image. Thanks again!
I think there is a fix for that now in the latest FFNx canary.

You dont need to give firewall access, final fantasy 7 doesnt need internet access.

Hi, glad you like it.

I don't think there was ever a problem, even with the first version.
I've tested several transparent avatars available here and they behave exactly the same.

In the in-game store, the avatar is highlighted by a rectangle underneath that changes from white to black, so with a transparent background this effect is a bit less aesthetic than with a solid background.

So it's more a consequence of how the game works, than a problem in itself.
A solution would be to make avatars with a solid background color identical to the game menu to simulate transparency, but many players change the color via the options.

If there is another solution I'm interested.


I assume that flash is from the shop UI, I solved that in ESUI by disabling the flash so looks good on transparent avatars.


I dont know of an easy way for the vanilla UI or other UI mods.

The avatars are now supported in the ESUI controller addon which is a mod that enhances the vanilla gameplay, exactly as Bonez said it requires a avatar pack that supports the feature such as "Finishing Touch".  They are also supported in the Echo-S voice acting mod which has a Midgar demo released.

I really appreciate the efforts of separating the mods and have them in smaller chunks for easier download. However I do suggest that for the mean time at least 2 mods from catalog 3 be still featured on catalog 4 and tag them as [Legacy] perhaps?
These are the Field Models and Battle Models . Both mods are less 300mb size wise and is very easy for new comers to use and is a testament of what the community has contributed/achieved over the years.

currently there is no alternative / Option beyond nino or kaladarasha(chaos) for battle models in catalog 4 as well as all weapon choices made by philman , slayernext, mike etc are gone. when it comes to field models , i have not found an alternative for the entire Object mods[huge materia,materia, potions , save point] in catalog 4. also the best option for NPCs for field is the one released on nexus and not necessarily found in catalog 4.

for the familiar/long time users perhaps its an easier process things but for new comers or those who had to reinstall its either you are overwhelmed by the options or you are like "im sure it is somewhere but i dont know who the main author of the mod is or the name of the mod" . but yeah just my suggestion.


Thank you for your comment, there was other reasons for the separation aside from size but yes not all content is in the new catalog, we can work on adding some of the missing content back in the new catalog.

Hi guys I have had tremendous recent feedback for ESUI, and I really appreciate it.


I am posting to give you guys some news on current work, one new feature is an optional 'Battle Avatars' to replace the name in battle.


I will also after this is implemented add another feature to always display status effect as an icon next to the avatar, so there is a always on status information for the player without having to use a heal ailment action.


Here is a clip I made showcasing the names preserved in the main menu, but having the avatar in battle.

Hi, we updated the catalog, the contents of the qhimm packs are mostly still there but now listed as separate mods.


For now the qhimm packs can still be downloaded manually from https://7thheaven.rocks/ at the bottom of the page, but are older than what is in the current catalog.

It sounds like you have an old version of FFNx that uses the old cfg format.


I suggest making sure you download 7th heaven either from https://7thheaven.rocks/ or https://github.com/tsunamods-codes/7th-Heaven/releases/tag/canary


Once installed, in the general settings, select canary in the FFNx box at the bottom left and click check for updates.


It should update FFNx to a compatible version that uses toml files, and then the settings will stick when you change them.

I personally managed to migrate my 7thworkshop folder over but it isnt supported practice, so if you do have problems set it up again from scratch.


If the game fails to load you can click on the bottom border of 7th heaven and it should popup the log inside notepad, you can attach that log here and hopefully someone can figure out whats going on.

You can try conditional load in 7th heaven, but with my testing I couldn't get it to work.

A byte I found that changes depending on if you in battle is 0xCBF9DC, should be 2 when in battle or some other value if not.

I like it! What about it do you not like?

Would it be possible to make the map opaque instead of transparent? Usually, the big map isn't used by players while they move around, so having it be opaque wouldn't be a hindrance of any sort. I'm thinking that it might look better if it were opaque. What do you think?


I have added the rescaled map into a test build and will post a link in the next few days, but I currently do not know the opcode for changing the world map transparency, it probably would be better disabled or with reduced intensity so I may look into it soon.
