I have a wrm fuzzy feeling inside theat the .ta file is the texture alignment file so that all the .tex files have someplace to go on the map.

I wonder if the texturing here is done in the same fashion as the newer PSX games... though I doubt it, they frickin' split everything down into smaller files for the PC port...

It's a screenshot from square's mapmaking program. I didn't do this myself, but it gives you guys an idea if what to look for.

You probably won't be able to get a copy from *anywhere* ... Square'll have just used it to make FF7. Not the sort of thing they let escape from their own computers...
