Hi, I've been making enhancements on some battle models I've seen in this forums,
Models I'm currently working at and those that are completed will be posted and released here

textures arent applying. they dont exist and also the model is set to use only 2 textures. simple fix once i found out what weapons are installed.

idk who made them but theyre in with jka yuffie so grimmy i guess. until white raven fixes his files you can do this to fix it in the mean time
open pcreator
options click battle
file click open battle hrc
open rxaa from whiteravens yuffie
type 4
click ok
get the original jka yuffie
copy over rxae and rxaf.

thats it

Awesome and thank you very much for this! Yuffie's mouth and eyes look sooo tiny to me  and lips seem a little tight... I believe it would be perfect if you enlarged this a bit, but smaller than Grimmy's, so they would be noticeable. And if possible make lips a little more natural. Thank you for all your work!

edit: Ok i opened it with Kimera... eyes are not tiny. Size is balanced with the face size but they seem small when you look the model from a far distance in battle. I believe mouth needs a little tweaking... unfortunately I'm not an expert to guide you but I can just report it looks a little unnatural to my eyes. I also noticed that the shoes (npbk and npbq) are a little off but I'm not sure if it's just in kimera.

I'll try to do something for the lips thing, but the eyes I believe are ok.. it just appears smaller in some angles.
the shoes thing wont appear in the battle files.. I fixed it already, battle files uses rxaa and not npaa.. I kinda fix it only in the rx set of files only.. not sure what the other sets of files are for.

That's odd.. I works for me when I test the model

idk who made them but theyre in with jka yuffie so grimmy i guess. until white raven fixes his files you can do this to fix it in the mean time
open pcreator
options click battle
file click open battle hrc
open rxaa from whiteravens yuffie
type 4
click ok
get the original jka yuffie
copy over rxae and rxaf.

thats it

Do you know why the model works fine for me while have this texture problems with other users??
just find it hard to test the model now since that bug doesn't occurs for me.

it shouldnt work just fine for u. open rxaa and browse through the weapons in kimera. only about 4 are textured properly

I'm still new at this and still trying to learn using blender and the ins and out of porting models to ff7, for now I'm limited to enhancing textures of models that already have UV maps.

Since many wants Aerith's face redone, I think I'll make one for her next..

Problem should be solved if you open Yuffie battle model and allow 10 texture.
My guess is your using a custom weapon and the texture is an added file.
For it to be read you need to tell the model there's an extra texture to overlay.

But then again I'm using Mike's Yuffie wep... I'm not sure what's the dilly with the default wep.

Plus he never released the model yet, as far as I know, so getting the files for it wouldn't be easy unless I decided to give the latest one he sent to me, however he made a couple revisions after, so I don't have the updated one yet. lol

He told me in a message that he'd start back up on it a bit later after done with his current project.

Texture problems with the yufie model has been fixed already. Link is already updated.

Also I fixed it by setting the number of tex to 4 since this yufie model uses 4 textures. It won't hurt to set it to 10 since it's the maximum number of allowed textures but unless you're planning to add more textures I think 4 will be fine.

tHanks have the file already.. I'm opening it in kimera right now it's all good.. I adjusted the hair a bit and shorten the shoulder bone to connect those arms closer to the body..

I'm having problems with the HQ Aerith, lots of errors when saving and opening the battle file, when I open the model again after saving some parts are missing. Does anyone know how rid of this errors? I really want to do some enhancements on that  aerith model.

LoL, I tested the vincent model ingame, he's really big.. did not notice in kimera.. this is gonna be a lot of work.. have to do the parts and bones resizing again, (is there a faster way to do this? like scaling down the whole model in one go)

All that really needs to be done would be retexing Cait Sith, and a new Sephiroth please. :) And you would have finished a long time goal everyone on this forum has had, wanting HQ mods for each character.

There is a Cid and Sephiroth (Battle) here: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13489.0

There is another Sephiroth (Field, Battle, World), but seems to require multiple steps that I'm unsure even work. From what I've read, this is what is done.
Grab the Scorpicus Sephiroth 1.1 (original chibi look): http://www.gamefront.com/files/Scorpicus+Seph+Patch+V1+1zip/;8841182;/fileinfo.html

Then you can supposedly patch it into a more adult model. It may be the one used in Bootleg, but I'm unsure other than the screenshots look very similar. The readme file states it requires Scorpicus Sephiroth 1.1 to work.

Update on the vincent enhancement..
I reduced the size of the whole model .. bit tedious resizing all those parts and bone without ruining the model..

 I'm learning making proper uv's with blender right now also basics of modeling, when I'm better I'm planning to enhance this models, like tifa dolphin style hair, gun holster for vincent, and a new jacket for the AC barret..

I've checked it seems the textures are from a JKA mod..I'm not sure of the model.

I'm planning to use those legs and claws if its allowed..

....I know there's already a HQ Cid in the bootleg...

didn't see any.. you should edit that post might disappoint some who'll read that, I think you mistook the HQ highwind for a Cid model.

LoL the model is a bit ugly for a ripped one, so I'm thinking it might not be ripped, but I have no way of proving that.. so I'm wondering if someone here may shed some light on this,

also I think this guy used that model here http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13366.0 I just want to clarify this matter

Anyway I think it's better not to mess with a model from kula's mod just to be safe.. thanks.. I'm getting better with blender so I think I'm better  off making my own UV and models than using those parts.

Done resizing, how about this.. I reduced the model by 10%.. he still taller than the others but I think this one is already acceptable.. I did not include yufie in the screenshots, LoL her stance makes her appear smaller thus making vincent look even bigger,I used barret as a reference instead

That's a different vincent.. actually it's my first time seeing that one. where did that vincent in your vid came from?? is it legit? also the cid model??

might be hard to get ahold of that model now.. I'll just finish my vincent enhancement, I might release it as a beta later so people can test the new vincent ingame,

LoL with all this modding I actually can't find time to continue playing ff7 anymore, guess I'll continue when all main characters are given an HQ version..

Tried editing aeriths' face.. I'm having a hard time with her face,  I'm not sure but maybe the face geometry is the prob, anyway i'll get this right somehow just needs to get a lot more familiar with the face geometry..btw i'll be using megatens aerith since mikes still a work in progress, might post a pic of her face later so I can ask for inputs from the community..

I'll include fixes on her number of textures bug and probably small changes on body proportions, I'm also planning to unsharpen the clothes a bit to make it less grainy in game.

vincent will be out soon.. I just removed the parts from kula's model.. sorting the files now and I'll upload it.

It's still a beta release considering I still need to Texture the Pants and Claws, I'm still learning to make UV's so it'll take time.
Some Parts also overlap in some animations particularly the head,  this is present in the original model somehow I haven't been able to fix it.

I haven't cleaned the face yet.. so the skin a bit messy.. I think thats wat making her look dead, I deal with that.. thanks.. maybe a little more red or pink on the complexion should do,

How about the eyes? I really had a hard time making it look ok, so I'm a bit worried on that part..

You're welcome! now cid and cait sith are the only ones with no HQ versions for the main characters, (do please correct me If I miss something) ..
Weemus is working on the main characters but his models has a slightly different theme.

Btw do you know what's the problem with the HQ aerith by megaten every time I try to edit the the model and save it an error occurs ruining the model resulting to body parts (rvam, rvan) to be missing. Is this connected to the number of textures bug that was previously reported?

The screenshot above, I just copied the rvac texture file to the direct folder while using a UMI installed HQ aerith.. For now I cant edit the HQ aerith I got here cause of the said problem.. I think I'll just extract the one installed thru UMI.

That color came with the original model.. If you can show a pic or any reference for a more preferable color of her clothes I can work something out.

I've been trying to fix that, however aerith uses many weapons with a variety of size and shape, what looks ok for the other weapon may not look as good with the other.. I'll make some adjustment but it wont be perfect.

Sorry but I can't do hair and shoes alone, I originally made some changes in the old HQ aerith because of the face.
The other HQ aerith will still be available, so you can still use that one If you prefer it.


Again to those who liked the revisions I made, Thank you very much! Don't forget credits should go to the original authors of the models, all   I did was to enhance the models so they'll match each other and look good when used together with the other HQ mods already available.

 I'll be releasing the aerith later after a few adjustments.

I'm planning to make a video showing the this HQ models.. Watch out for it.

I think I'll only be doing battle models, I'm not really a fan of HQ field models.. although they look good and cool, they don't fit in in with the rest of NPC's or the environment fot that matter.

Can't find the sephiroth model.. the one referred to me previously was a patch to play a sephiroth, and the other is the one being worked on by weemus, I don't think its proper to mess with those it's weemus's model.. I'm only interested on those models that the author has abandoned or has no plans in improving.

Of course there's UMI, I'll check it out if there's a sephiroth battle model I can use there.

But right now I'm eyeing cid and cait sith to complete the gang, sadly can't find any.. guess I need to learn modeling properly first and probably make my own models.

This would make this one my fifth model enhancement, LoL that's quite a lot already, enjoyed making them that I did notice the number rising.
so far this aerith requires the least enhancement, the original is well made already, the vincent required a lot of work, LoL it's knda surprising how different it looks from the original..

sadly this one dont use textures so.. theres only so little I can do with the model.,

BUt I am quite pleased with how the model turned out with just a few adjustments in kimera..

Thanks, that vincent is actually lacking textures.. I may improve more on it on the next release, I'm also planning on adding the dolphin hair style on the tifa revision.

Weemus gave his permissions to use his models, so a cid or maybe a sephiroth may come soon. :) :)

Check this out.. I received a request on making revision of the APZ cloud, giving him a more grown up look.
I still need to test this if it will not mess up the anims since I extended some bones, APZ already gave his OK on releasing this model as long as It works well ingame, so if this model works fine we will have a more grown up version of the APZ cloud. :) :)

LoL.. that one is not my model..
This image is meant to show the original gang in their HQ counter part, my barret is an AC version so he wont fit in, instead I used the one made by timu & millenia face by asmodean, then the red model is by kela5, I just used the available HQ models here to create that group picture, it does'nt mean i made them all. (gotta make that one clear)

If you're just trying to pull data off of your computer then that will work fine, If you're actually trying to boot into windows you'll likely have no such luck unless it's the same computer, Once the SATA controller has been switched out (IE a new motherboard/PC) Windows will not boot properly.

But if her computer has multiple SATA ports (any desktop will) then plug the drive in and pull the data off of it.

Alternatively most PC's use 70/80mm fans on the CPU heatsinks, you could swap them long enough to get the data, then put them back, no need to reseat the heatsink.

If you need any help you can PM me, i do this for a living so i know a thing or two :P

Right now I'm trying to assemble a cid battle model by using parts frm weemus field model and other available models

I'm waiting for a cid head model which currntly under construction by other members, I might use it if they'll allow it..this still far from completion and I would appreciate comments and suggestion to make this one awesome..

EDIT: on second thought I think I'll try creating the lower body my self, I kinda feel bad using other models all the time, I needed to learn 3d mdeling to improve my model revisions so this might be a good time start..

I may have overdone it, as for the legs and boots, I still need to make them, the one your seeing right now is just temporary, the previous one was actually the legs and boot of apz cloud.. I decided not to use it to respect apz decision.. so I will be making a leg and boots model on my own.. this will serve as a practice and my first actual attempt in 3d modeling. this may take a while though..

Ill add one to his ear i find it kindof dumb that he always has one in his mouth. Who lights up for battle? Ill also try to tweak the verts so his mouth looks better.

It's an issue on the original APZ Cloud model and has nothing to do with the other models..
You can make the weapons work for cloud using same method used for the original APZ Cloud.. It has been discussed quite a lot lately, read here..

I was about to suggest that one, LoL good thing you found it.. I am not altering the tex ID for cloud since according to APZ this cause some errors.. so just use those fixes provided.. :)

I'm pretty sure it's a cigar box as seen on the image..LoL I also can't recall if uses that on his limit moves, might as well play cid for a while..

Hey WhiteRaven! I'm a newer member and I wanted to thank you for the revisions you are doing and tell you how awesome they are! I'd like to make one suggestion about your Tifa model though. Your revision is great in many ways, but Tifa's arms and legs ended up with very little shading and I think it looks a bit strange. Just a suggestion though. Thanks again for your hard work!

Thanks, I'm aware that tifa's legs seem to lack shading.. I did some experiment on it before releasing however, everytime I try to add more shade it looks more wierd, could be because tifa is showing a lot skin that it's harder to give it a proper shading.. It also because my skills are still lacking.. when I get better I'll fix that one.. maybe include it on the next version of tifa I'll be releasing :) :) :)

SO how is it?? It uses parts from Anifaga's seph model which I resized.. (shown on earlier posts) and head of weemus field sephiroth model which I modified a bit (Hair revised and face). I can make UV's now so I'll be making textures on the whole model.. Gotta make him look better, more detailed and a liitle more flashy, it's sephiroth after all.. So any suggestions??

I don't know if I should give advice, because I've never made a mod, but it seems to me that Sephiroth's hair should have dark streaks or something and a bit more shading at the very front, because at the moment it is hard to tell that his hair comes up and outward. I just looked up the AC Sephiroth, and it looks like he uses the shiny leather as well. Guess it compliments his "dark prince" look.  ;D The shiny leather sounds more trademark and recognizable to me, because I don't recall seeing a ragged look. By shiny leather, though, do you mean what he is using now, or are you going to give it a shine? Because right now it doesn't look very shiny. From what I can see of the face it looks pretty good. I'd have to see it up close to make any specific suggestions other than the aforementioned shading.  :)

My bad.. I thought he was wearing a more ragged coat in the AC movie..
The imaged I posted has no textures applied to it yet aside from the head.. That's why there's no shine or much details that can be seen.. I'm planning to add textures to it enhance the overall quality.. The Face is just simple textures, with base skin color then I put the eyes nose and mouth in best possible locations/positions, if it looks ok I'll be cleaning and add shading to the face texture..

Progress has been a little slow lately cause of real life hectic sched.. but I managed to get some time to work on some of my pending works.
Here's update on the cid model, I'm waiting for omega for his adjustments on the head model it may take a while since he has a lot to work on too, for the mean time I might release this one when its done.

Made new model parts for the lower body.. this would be my first attempt in modeling so it's still a bit rough.
It's already textured, I just need to make adjustments on the waist/hip part, somethings wrong with it in some animations, I also need to test this first ingame then I'll be releasing this as beta, I'll just update this when there are new inputs.

I'm still planning to continue with HQ main characters, so far for Cid I only hace the head model by Omega, Lol.. I also finished redoing the legs and boots model, but its not textured yet.. the sephiroth was lost unfortunately, I may have to start from the beginning again, I also lost my installer of FF7 so I can't do testings for the model till I can get another copy of the installer.. So far I lost all the mods I have, I can still create models since it's easy to grab the tools needed and I still have my blender and photoshop, but it may take while to have my ff7 running again, maybe I can let guys here do the testing ;D ;D

Also yes I'm going to continue working on this model revisions of main characters, I'm making it a priority in my to do list right now (regarding modding works) I'm currently redoing the Cid model since I lost it's files due to HDD failure, the model is complete but it still lacks texture and needs to be ported to FF7, since I worked on it blender again.

For Cait Sith, I'm planning to just do a retex on the guy without remodeling.

Then I'm going to proceed on Version 2 of Tifa, Vincent and Yufie

I have some news about the field model:

*Bad news:
-School is taking most of my free time so the field model won't come anytime soon.
-My PC is slow and have problems with battle model.Everytime i click on a battle part in kimera,the message:"Runtime error 6:overflow" just keep poping up and then kimera crashes,so its hard for me to tell which file is what.
-I still don't know how to get the field models to blink.

*Good news:
-I'm having a few days off so i will have more time to spend with field model
-The revision of apz cloud is almost done.All that left is the boots and convert it to other field model.

Answer:

-Its your work now, so I don't really mind if you make adjustments, LoL I won't stop you with whatever you want to do with the field models.
But then if you want my opinion, I think you should keep the adjustments at the minimum, since you're suppose to make field versions they must look as close to the battle models

-same as above, do what you want with it, I also think it's a bit too big for a field version, I think there was a conversion of this barret done before by JLOutlaw you can check it out too.

-Uhmm, LoL my bad.. I had to resize the bustersword to match with revised body proportion of cloud, unfortunately I forgot to resize the other weapons, LoL ;D

Yeah its true I did resizing of sephroths body parts as seen there, then I used revised Weemus sephiroth head(altering the hair), I also retextured it but it never  got completed, only the head was retextured since it already has a UV map.

And all of Vincent's guns you remade are gone.




This is a little off.. I never said I made the body myself, atleast not all, the torso and arms were from weemus cid field model, but since the legs of weemus cid field model is not detailed  enough to be used for battle models, I made my own. The only part made by me was the entire lower body, (the thighs,Legs,boots)

I don't get what you mean by giving cid's head to omega, but the Head I'm using was modeled by omega.

Reckos still has the vincent gun models, since he's the one modeling them, But I lost the textures for quick silver.

And assuming you can't just use a file recovery program like Recuva or something to regain the lost files, I would like to know what projects were lost in the crash, if for no other reason then curiousity, if it's not going to cause you any trouble to do so.

yep, I was about to release it too, just minor adjusment and in game testing was missing, Hayst, it was my fault though, modding was kinda a habit for me, just things to do to spend my free time, and I just started doing this recently so backing up my modding files didn't cross my mind at that time yet, I kinda took it for granted, and I'm regretting it a lot now, LoL.. at least that's a lesson learned now.

I done some resizing too, he stands now on the ground.
It would be probably better to release it here instead of opening another APZ-Cloud thread.

dunno.. hmm if its just minor alterations I think its ok..
I think I read something about APZ not encouraging alterations on his work, you might have to check on it first :D ..

due to some reasons (which I know no one cares about so I wont bother explaining, LOL ;D ;D) I'm finding it hard to have time for modding lately.. updates on models might take some time.. ..
