game crash in gondola date with aeris
« on: 2005-06-20 12:40:52 »
could somebody help me with this crash? I passed the cosmo canyon crash thanks to threesixty ,and i've tried all the solutions offered by eidos and this forum and nothing works...

here's the save file (it's the one in gold saucer, not cosmo canyon..)

http://perso.wanadoo.es/rizzo34/save01.ff7

and my email

[email protected]

I also have the jenova editor, so if you already have a file after the date it will do. Is this the last crash i'm boud to find???This is really frustrating...
Thanks in advance.

Please I really need some help here

Ok, I went past it and saved it for you :)

You can download it here:

http://balder.prohosting.com/hackff7/yo4/save01.zip

What happens after the gondola is, when they are back at the station they see Cait Sith, and he has the keystone in his hand and they start chasing him around until they finally get to the chocobo square where Tseng comes down with a helicopter and Cait Sith throws the keystone to him, then Cait Sith tells them he is a Shinra spy and he has Marlene hostage so they should just carry on like nothing happened. Then they head off to the temple of the ancients in the morning. I saved it right in front of the temple of the ancients, Aeris has to be in your party at this point so I moved all of Red XIII's materia to Aeris (and put Counter Attack materia because there was a free slot) and moved Vincent's Materia to Red XIII and put Red XIII in the party as well, I automatically sorted your materia and items after that. I hope this helps.

just wanted to thank naji and threesixty for helping me out with this crash. I hope I doesn't breakdown again because I'm getting a bit tired of all the problems it gives me. If anyone has any new suggestions as what to do in future crashes (i've tried quarter screen mode, basic sound acceleration, modifying the registry and copying the fmvs to hd, patches, jenova...) i will apreciate them. I won't ask again for someone to play the game thru for me because I understand it must be terribly boring.
thanks again.

no problem :D nah it's not boring playing past the part you crash, I love Final Fantasy VII, when I was 13 years old I played it constantly everyday on the Playstation for a whole year and got mad powerful lol. You might want to try out some patches to stop the crashes, there was a 1.02 patch mentioned in this forum, see if that helps.

Well if you liked it that much and don't mind... I got some yo-yo asking me on my E-mail to get him past the same area.

I don't want to do it, myself....it takes way too long.

You want it? I'll forward the email to you.....just need to know where to send it.

I'm having a small problem here... in disc 2 inside the crater thing, you're supposed to cross this sort of bridge when the blue wind stops blowing...well the wind doesn't stop blowing. I think I remember somebody posting about this.
EDIT
Ok I got it working, just had to set 640x480 quarter screen mode to get by it. (I was forced to kill Jenova in crapy mode :-?...)

hmm, you're supposed to wait a bit for the wind to stop blowing, it might take a while sometimes :P

No, the problem was it didn't stop blowing in 640x480 fullscreen mode. When I went thru it in 640x480 quarter screen mode it did stop. I read it in a thread in the game tweaking forum. Thanks to the person that posted it.

I have a problem maybe you guys can fix. When a fmv appears and the characters stay on the screen they don't stay in their place, they kind of just float away with the camera. It's not a big deal but it's kind of annoying.

That wind blowing thing is a glitch of the TNT patch... Playing thru in Software mode is all you needed to do.

don't know about your second glitch..... I know sometimes if the elevator up movie skips....when you get to the platform (I speak of the, "look it's a shooting star" scene) That sometime one of the characters will be upsidedown.... they won't be visable on the screen but you can see their feet on the bottom of the platform.... As if they are upside down. (it's always the third character...the one that doesn't say anything about the falling star)

The only fix for that is to restart the game.....or...just ignore it.
