General Discussion / An idea about ff7 FMVs

Don't know if this has been suggested before or is impractical/illegal, but has anyone ever remade the FF7 cutscenes in flash or some other animated style, as opposed to trying to filter & clean the existing ones? It would be much easier to match the aesthetic of the popular mods this way, I'd think- it's a bit jarring to see chibi, low-poly models in the FMVs.

I have a problem that isn't actually a problem, but I was curious if anyone knew the cause.

When my laptop is running on battery, FF7 works at half speed. When plugged in, it's fine.

Anyone know why? Tried searching the forum but got nothing. I'm sure it's something fairly obvious but I don't have a lot of experience with laptops.

I'm running FF7 with the Bootleg installer and its associated mods (except for Trish & Mike's custom weapons), in Hardcore mode. The game goes to black and freezes every time I enter the Sleeping Man's cave (where you get the Mythril/Bolt Ring). My app.log:
