I intend to port over his model from Crisis Core and simply have him float in the air ( kind of like how he hovers in Advent Children after losing )

Also, Neo, concerning the smd export of mesh2rdm, turns out breaking and unifying the normals didn't really do anything.  Here's my smd.bat:
mesh2rdm 1.raw 1.smd -texpre 1 -rotate -90 0 0 -scale 1.0 -smdout -flipuv -smoothnorm 0.001   Maybe the smoothnorm is to blame?

Ok since you guys are the experts... why won't this

load correctly once in game?  His wing loses its texture.   I know with field files you have to set how many textures to use, but what about battle models?
wouldn't his havoc wing attack look....er...wierd?

The wing is a part of his torso bone.  His right arm has replaced where his wing used to be, so any movements he made with his original wing will be done with his right arm.

Again, Neo, I can't figure out what the problem is with my mesh2rdm.  I am still getting these shadowed models.  Would you mind uploading all your mesh2rdm files including the smd.bat?    I'm also using the smd importer you provided a link for.. I really can't figure out the problem unless it has something to do with MAX

alright, i'll upload when im back on my laptop.
However, this might be possible to solve simply by flipping the normals, unless you've already tried this.

Actually I managed to figure it out myself this morning.  Using the smd.bat that doesn't include the smoothnorm option I imported my smd.  However, I unticked the box that said "rebuild smoothing normals" and that seems to have fixed the problem.  I appreciate all the help, now I can finally get to work on using the dissidia models

Sorry guys, with the new rules, this project can no longer continue.

Not like we were gonna release it anyway, but yeah.

Shows over.

Pity.
I loved your guys attitudes if nothing else.
Neo always made me laugh.
Ultima you always made me smile.

Your guys' work was just bloody good!

Sorry you guys have to quit.
But like Neo said...
why not learn to model (in 3D.. not for a magazine) for your selves
:D

i know i am!
XD

*hugs and kisses*

Love,
Rinoa

Too bad.

Well it seems Aali's driver supports editing the world map textures... maybe you guys would like to take up that as a new challenge??  There are already 2 others working on it as we speak, though their names escape me  :|

As long as you don't release stuff here it should be ok, otherwhise halkun would be a retard and put the modding community a huge stone in the way.
Otherwhise, just make it like kula and the others and make a 1-minute-easy-website and put your updates there.

What a waste of time and effort  :-( Still props to Ultima and Neo for even getting as far as they did with this, I am seriously starting to question the point in this forum except the custom drive which is absolutely awesome and the other programs to mod the game. I know Square can sue us all to king come but surely talking about it and posting what you have done for YOURSELF should be allowed? I'm not one to question you Halkun really I'm not, and I respect what your trying to do. I know you were here LONG before most of us and your only doing it for the well been of Qhimm, its just it seems such a waste to call all these projects off maybe make a rule your allowed to show off what your doing kinda like a showcase thing? I know this probably won't even be considered because SE will jump the gun and C and D but yeah again thanks Ultima and Neo.

The point is kinda the same as my posts in the NEW RULE thread.
So i agree with you.
I think someone should think this stuff through again.  :|

This is true, although that's also a lot of work, and if you did that'd be @*%&^ awesome but if you don't I think everyone would understand. Best of luck regardless of what you guys decide.

I'll make a thread for it sometime soon... but the software doesnt matter. I'll explain blender tools n shortcuts, but 3d tools and theory dont change much between programs... just find how to do the same thing in max and you can do it. keep yer eyes peeld boys
