Hello there, I installed the "Menu Overhaul" on my FF7, the installation goes without a problem, but when I run my ff7.exe, I noticed that absolutely nothing has changed.

Could somebody help me ? Thanks !

Quick guess without any information other then what you provided is that aali's driver is not working properly.

Try running ff7 as administrator if you have not done so already.

What options are you selecting when you run the Menu Overhaul installer?

Some of the options at the bottom of the list actually remove the Menu Overhaul components.

I didn't select the new barret model, the different world map, the spanish text and.. I think that's all...

And about the "run as admin" thing, well I believe that I'm on the admin session already, and when I hit "run as...", either I untick the "protect me computer blablah", either I select another profil, which seems to be the same, where they ask a password I obviously don't know, since there is no password normally. So.....

   >Menu Overhaul Project< done by DLPB & Kranmer

Hi samourai23,

That is an entirely different project which serves a different purpose. Neither one can serve as a replacement for the other.

I tried, and some things work (bad.... but they do......), some doesn't....
I don't understand what the heck I'm not doing right. Damn, it's an installer, how can it not work JUST for me..?

OK i have a few things to ask.
First - Which version of windows are you using ?
Second - What version of the game are you using ? (i mean are you using a English version of the game or a different language version)
Third - Could you upload a picture showing what you are seeing and also your app.log from your FF7 Folder

I'm using Windows XP and I'm using the French version of FF7.
And I don't really know how to upload a picture, never done it before :-[
But it just that somethings aren't there, and when it's there, the graphic looks bad quality...

The mods are made for the US English version of FF7.  You'll need to manually rename the files and folders to match the French version.

Hi samourai23,

2nd try, because it seems that i was on the wrong way (Covarr).

  • Please edit "ff7_opengl.cfg" and search for mod_path.

  • If there are two entries, delete this one:  mod_path = none

  • Now it should look like this: mod_path = avalanche

  • Look at your FF7 main directory.
There should be this directory structure: .\mods\avalanche\...

@Covarr: I hope i am right this time  ;)

Edit: Do you have this problem

No I don't get this type of issue at all, it more like a low quality and a lot of stuff that doesn't change.

And what do you mean by "editing "ff7_opengl.cfg"" ?

Open "ff7_opengl.cfg" with Notepad or any text editor.

I don't have the possibility, I can't do "open with"
And if I open it directly, I get "windows doesn't know this extension blabla"

you could always open notepad then click FILE then click OPEN and then click on ALL FILES in the drop down box then open the CFG or you could just drag and drop the CFG onto notepad

I'm using Windows XP and I'm using the French version of FF7.

But it just that somethings aren't there, and when it's there, the graphic looks bad quality...

To take a picture press the PRINT SCREEN button on your keyboard then open PAINT and right click and paste the picture then save, upload the picture to any website (any site will do, but i recommend imageshack), A picture showing us what is wrong is probably best then we can see what you see, or better yet you could download the trial of FRAPS and take a video that would be much more helpful.
