Computer no longer likes FFVII (Please Help)

Been wanting to do a normal playthrough of the game and my computer just doesn't like it no more crashes randomly whenever it pleases and Direct 3D Acceleration looks really crappy. My Basic Computer Setup is this. Also I've downloaded the Chocobo patch and the v 1.02 patch as well also have tried Windows Compatibility mode. Hate to have to buy this for my PS2/PS3 for like $200-400 right now.

OS: Windows XP SP 2
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 2.93 Ghz
Memory: 2.50 GB Ram
Video: Nvidia Geforce 8800GT 512MB

Don't know if you fixed this already or not but.

The 1.02 patch actually includes the chocobo patch, so thats all you need as far as patching goes. You also must install the TrueMotion codec (theres a link to it somewhere on here, if you can't find it just search google and it'll be one of the first few links.) As far as video goes, try setting the nVidia tick and select TNT as the type of nVidia card to try to get it to run in Direct 3D. If this crashes try it in software mode (uncheck the nVidia tick).

If you want to try Aali's driver (which I highly recommend) it's pretty simple to install and should fix your rendering issues.

The chocobo patch is NOT included in 1.02, the 1.02 patch leaves many problems unfixed and is not the only patch you need.

All of this (nvidia fix, crash fixes, truemotion codec) is irrelevant if you do use my driver, it will work out of the box with 1.02.
