Final Fantasy VII (PC) - Redump

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to make some dumps of their copy of Final Fantasy VII for the PC. I recently submitted my dump, however I was the first one to submit the original PC copy. This means I have no way to verify if my copy matches with others' dumps. Here's the link:

I thought I would ask on this forum, since it appears to center around Final Fantasy VII and VIII for the PC, so there are bound to be people here with copies of the game. Thanks for any contributions that anyone can make!

You've come to the right place; there's probably more people here with legitimate copies of the 1998/2000 PC versions of these games on disc than anywhere else on the internet, in multiple languages, no less.

I can't be of much help myself, as my discs have been misplaced on the order of a couple years now (I think I know where they are, but I sure as hell don't feel like digging through my garage to get to them), but I would not doubt for a moment there's people with good, usable discs that can get the hashes you need.

Hey thanks Covarr! I'm hoping someone will respond soon and submit those dumps to redump. I know it can be cumbersome, since the redump group seems to request specific information about the discs. I know I can be lazy at times in getting all that information. I recently bought this game from Ebay and I knew it would have some scratches, as the description stated so, which besides having said scratches, I didn't encounter any read errors with my dumping. I just like to have the verification that I have dumped a game correctly. I know its possible to dump incorrectly so its always good to have verification.

Hmm any way you could dump those in bin/cue format? I'm guessing the iso format for CDs cuts out some data where as bin and cue would be the raw image.

IIRC, iso is byte-for-byte. bin/cue includes some of the parity information. They're both either compressed.

Huh well if that's the case, those hashes did not match what I posted on redump. I don't know if either my or that person's game was dumped incorrectly, or if its a different revision altogether. Anyone else have any hashes to compare?

i re-riped them with cdrdao (raw mode).

i no longer have my install disc only the iso i riped long ago. so i can't redo that one.

personally i would just make iso formated images they are just fine for single session discs such as the ff7 pc discs. if these don't match your md5 sums i would suggest using imgburn to make isos and checking them with the sums in my last post.
