General Discussion / Some questions about Final Fantasy X

First off all: Hey guys long time no see /hug /wave.

Anyways, i bought FFX and started playing but am a bit confused on how stuff work. For starters, new weapons dont seem to do more damage, they just add new abilities, mostly an elemental attack. Whats the point in putting all them weapons in it if they dont increase have an increase in damage. Also my big fuzzy Ronso was wearing a Hunter's Spear when he joined my party, yet i found another hunters spear later in the game and that spear had more stats including a strenght +10% So whats the deal here? How do new weapons add to more damage?

Second question is how to get Kimhari onto the grid where Auron is? sure i want him to get steal and some agi/evasion first, but after that i wanna build him into a second powerhouse like Auron. Seeing as they both have Piercing weapons its seems most viable. Oh i live in Holland and therefor have the PAL version of the game and i'm currently using the newbie "Standard" Grid.

Hey, well currently busy with Final Fantasy 9 and got myself a nice chocobo that can walk over all water and i went back to Chocobo lagoon, Dug up all chocographs there, but i know there are supposed to be chocograph pieces there aswell. I'm @ beginning of disc 3, dont have a flying thing yet if thats even in the game. Just wanna know when i can dig up those chocograph pieces, since this mini game is bugging me :p

Well, now that we are talking about great games. Did anyone play Outcast? I loooooove that game. Its Linear yet you have all the freedom in the world and its one of the first games with high suffisticated AI

Or Z? Great RTS wich was actually pretty hard. Wich is what i want since i can play easy games all day.

Or what about zelda A Link to the Past, or Ocarina of Time. Those are notewhorty games. Or Command and Conquer. Oooooooh i can type and type there are so many great games, but i wont :p

ah yes the famous: OMFG the game has SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET graphics it must be good story. personally: a game can lookt sweet and nice and stuff. But as long as the game doesnt interest me in gameplay i wont play it. Wii gives new gameplay, gameplay i am interested in. And online Smash Brothers, and online mario kart and online pokemon. Imho give wii now :p

BUT WHO CARES, i'm definitly gonna buy it, put it next to my tv and play zelda till i drop. Then i will play it again and in mean time kick friends arses in wii sports. The new controls really interest me as i was quite bored of the standard gameplay of today and when smash brothers brawl hits the wii its gonna be online wii gaming non-stop :p

i personally follow alot of series, actually too much, but someone has got to do something right.

My favs are: Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, sg1 being superior. And Prison Break.

Good seconds are: Smallville, grey's anatomy, CSI:NY, My name is Earl.

Also just started Blade, Angela's eyes and brotherhood. And feeling down that Free Ride is no longer on tv

lets bump ze  topic ;p

i got my keyboard yesterday, i must say it rox. the lcd screen is really cool, and usefull in wow in both pvp and raids. For raids i have this TS lcd plugin wich lets me see who talks on TS. And in pvp it shows how much kills i got and all other stuff. But most importantly its types so absolutly smooth. Never had a keyboard that typed so nice, really light and have no urge to bash my keys anymore. The only minor point is that i have a small enter buttton now, and had a big one before so have to get use d to a new layout but thats gonna be quick i think i am in love just a shame i keep pressing my caps lock button instead of my 'a' button :p

Well do to legal issues The Pirate Bay has switched server locations some time ago. The servers were operated from i think sweden, but the actual servers are located in Holland, cause the laws here are prolly the most screwed up of them all And filesharing isnt illigal in Holland, so what do i care, givz me all your data

well someone in my imediate area, has wireless internet. So i've been using that for a LONG time now with my Nintendo DS But since last week i have wireless router/modem and am currently using that. And the first thing i did was put in a nice 128bit WEP key thats so stupid that no one can guess it, either then trying to crack it. And i can still use the network from one of my neighbours if mine is down :p

Imho if people dont secure their wireless connection its their fault others are using it. And free bandwith ftw!

I'm 22, and i work as a postman/mailman what ever you wanna call it :p And currently in college towards becoming a math teacher. The postman job pays me roughly €9 an hour wich is pretty nice seeing as it tops the the minimum wage for my age by alot But am currently in the process of rethinking my life. And i might aswell end up as an airtraffic controller, i allready passed the first 2 interviews, only the 3rd is left and i become learning airtraffic controller earning €22,000 a year and when i'm done, €45,000 a year and when i am good! then it can go up to €100,000 a year excluding bonusses. Money isnt all that important, but in holland right now, iots best to be earning some more cause there are some strange times commin up.

@Ye-Roon: A bit of a nintendo fan? Though I admit, your taste is impeccable!

Well for a long time its: Nintendo, Westwood and Blizzard that rocks my boat. And ofcourse square-enix, but seeing the price of ps3, i think i'll wait till its more respectable. thats why i want wii and ds games more since i have a ds, and am buying a wii and allready have a pc Shame Sega and Petroglyph didnt show anything this E3 (petroglyph is Neo-westwood, almost all old workers of westwood started that company and togeteher with sega are commin with some big rts universe thingy). Also Supreme commander looked verry promissing.

C&C3 eventhough its not made by the creators of cnc1 and cnc2 (PC)
Smash Bros. Brawl. (wii)
Burning Crusade (WoW expansion, PC)
Starfox (DS)
Diddy Kong Racing (DS, perhaps Rare is comming back to nintendo, or MS will let Rare make games for wii so MS will earn the profit )

yesterday i streamed the press converance from nintendo, and i also saw the one from sony. Sony said in the last bit something really small about the motion sensor thing and didnt have anything operational yet. Yet nintendo showed alot of stuff using the motion sensor thingy. As reggie said: seeing is not believing, playing is believing. well for me, seeing was believing, casue damn i cant imagine the gameplay possibilities with that type of control. And i know that this will atract 3rd party devs to make stuff on the wii.

But it looks like Sony is afraid. 2 versions, hmmz xbox360 had 2 versions, maybe they are afraid that one needs 2 versions otherwise people think its not worth buying. Motion sensors, hmmz, are they afraid that the new control style with wii is soo good that they gonna lose market share? Imho what sony needs is to develop somethign complety their own and sell that. cause again with the stealing stuff, most gamers i know hate back stabbing...
