Is this a joke?  :-o

Nintey Nine US Dollars? Are they out of their minds? With Nintey Nine US Dollars, I could buy all the great Squaresoft games instead of this monstrocity. This makes me want to go and play the Chocobo Series from Squaresoft.

General Discussion / Hidden Scenes in Final Fantasy VII
« on: 2013-03-30 10:33:44 »
Hello everyone,
I would like to share some exclusive information to you because I am a nice guy.

One time recently, while playing Disc One of Final Fantasy VII on the personal computer, I decided to try something new - go to the Mythril Mine too early for the game to expect you to do so. After you chose which party members are to be in the two groups of party members, Cloud is told by Barret to meet him at the town of Kalm. What you do next is earn enough gil to purchase the Chocobo Lure Materia and catch a Chocobo. Once you have done this, outrun the Midgar Zolom and get to the entrance of the Mythril Mine. At the time I did this, Tifa was in my party with Cloud. She told Cloud that Barret was waiting at Kalm, and that they needed to meet with him as soon as possible. Also, she said the following phrase to the Chocobo,
"You do not mind waiting, right? Please wait for us."
I could be wrong about how correct this quote is, so I shall correct it soon. My first thought after Tifa said this was, "Yeah right, like that Chocobo is going to wait. Nah, it will run off." Boy was I wrong. The creators of this game knew how hard the Midgar Zolom was that they actually programmed the Chocobo to wait for you on the World Map. On Disc One. Wow! Name another video game in this world that has that kind of programming in it. No really, please name some video games, I am very interested in this kind of knowledge.

Recently, On Disc Two, I was in North Corel. Cloud, when crossing the bridge towards the Mako Reactor, was stopped by Tifa. Here is what followed:

As one may notice, I had to press Print-Screen as fast as possible on my keyboard and paste the screen shots into Microsoft Paint. Sorry for the poor job doing so.

So, who here has caused this hidden scene to occur for them? Can it happen on the Playstation? Is this not awesome? I shall take a print screen for evidence soon.
Who here has found a hidden scene? I already know about most of the hidden scenes, so do your best to name hidden scenes that have yet to be told by a walkthrough or by a wiki page.
I look forward to your responses.

Troubleshooting / No luck with the scene.bin
« on: 2012-11-20 22:17:25 »
Hello everyone,
I am not sure why, but no matter what Gameplay Mod I install with the 1998 version of Final Fantasy VII, I always seem to get a broken scene.bin. I guess I have no choice but to figure out how to use Proud Clod.

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in modding the timeless Sony classic The Legend of Dragoon for the Playstation. There are many versions of it available that could be modded, including the following:

Platform(s) PlayStation, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable
Release date(s) PlayStation:

JP December 2, 1999
 NA June 11, 2000
 EU January 19, 2001
 PlayStation Network:
 JP December 22, 2010
 NA May 1, 2012
Courtesy of Wikia.com

http://legendofdragoon.wikia.com/wiki/The_Legend_of_Dragoon

Four disc long, and very well created, many fans of this game supposedly were interested in making a sequel for it, since the pre-production of the sequel was unexpectedly canceled. So one of the main purposes of modding the game is to be able to possibly make a fan-based sequel.

UPDATE:

Just played 40 minutes of the game's Disc One on my Playstation 3. I had to use Cinema Zoom times four to get the game to fit the screen of my 47" LG LED LCD TV. The graphics are not as good as Final Fantasy IX's graphics, which is not a problem. I am sure you would agree with me that would be awesome to find a way to upscale the graphics for this great game.

Gameplay / Translation Question
« on: 2012-09-11 16:37:27 »
Hello everyone,
I am currently helping a friend who owns a legal copy of Final Fantasy VII purchased the Square-Enix website; it has been converted to the 1998 version for the PC. I am helping him take certain files that have the following:

 @Ultima Espio's Aeris Revival Patch

 @DLPB & @Kranmer's Menu Overhaul & ReTranslation M05c

@Masa-Buster's Harder Items - Easy

I would like to mix the correct files with this game enhancement:

 @Indrema's Italian Language Complete Overhaul

I normally use @Kranmer's Automatic UNLGP + LGP 5.0 to edit the files, yet I know that now I need extra assistance.

If you have any advice for me and my friend, I would greatly appreciate it.

The files I need to combine, both old and new, are the following:

flevel.lgp

kernel.bin

kernel2.bin

menu_us.lgp

kage.dat

enemy012.dat

enemy331.dat

high-us.lgp

ff7.exe

UPDATE: @PitBrat has already done the work for me back in July this year through the Bootleg 0039. Thanks, @PitBrat

Completely Unrelated / The Truth Lives

The truth should always be welcome on forums such as this great forum.

So my questions are the following:

Who hates the user named ajthedj747?  :x

Who thinks the user named ajthedj747 is annoying?  :-X

Who thinks the user named ajthedj747 is ignoramous?  :?

Who thinks this topic is unnecessary?

Feel free to be honest, but please obey the rules set by those who are global moderators.

Completely Unrelated / This made my day
« on: 2012-09-07 12:27:53 »
I am now a crazy poster, not an eager noob or cool noob. I am very pleased with my new status. I can not wait to be labeld as an insane poster. I also can not wait to become more wise and knowledgeable when it comes to coding for adding the character portraits to the Menu and Battle Interface Overhaul Project.

8
Hello All,
I would like to propose a new option to the Menu Overhaul. Character Portraits next to the names of the Characters. I understand that this would be very difficult to do, that is why I would need other members of this forum to help me do this. It would great if @DLPB could tell me his opinion on this idea of mine. Other members of the forum, your input is also requested. This is currently going to only be for the 1998 PC version of the game.

I hope you like my humble artist rendering:

I understand that is a graphical topic, yet I also understand that getting these graphics to actually happen as shown is a Huge Reverse Engineering Project that would take months on end to figure out.

Update: I just realized that in the Menu Overhaul, the text and bars for the MBarrier and Shield were replaced by Graphics:

This may mean that the names of each Party Member could be replaced by a .PNG image of their portrait. Hmmmmm........  :?:

This image was made by @Felix Leonhart. I will ask about how it was created.

Credits:

Menu Overhaul was made by @Luksy, @DLPB, @sl1982 and @Kranmer as well as many others.

One of the biggest issues is the spacing, and the programming required to correctly insert the correct spacing for different screen resolutions.

@LeonhartGR has pointed out to me that this project should support the .PNG files in the Menu folder of the Mod folder. This is an important part of the project itself.

UPDATE:

I understand that as of right now, 0 members on this forum will help me with this project. So, I have decided to do things the hard way.

I have discovered that you can place three tiny squares in one spot - next to the text in red (for most, it is grey) that says, "NAME." I will make a total of 24 different variations of the .PNG file called, "btl_win_a_l_07."

Now you may ask, why would one do that?

Quite simple.

Let  one say that you have a party of the following

Aerith / Cloud / Tifa

A btl_win_a_l_07.png with the portraits in that order should be put into the menu folder inside the folder currently being used in the mod folder.

For example, this directory:

C:\Games\FF7\mods\Bootleg\menu\btl_win_a_l_07.png

I will add an extra number to the end of each .PNG file so that each .PNG file can easily be changed out to the one that a player wants to be used.

I got this idea from @Grimmy. He did this with the different images for Cait Sith's Limit Break called "Lucky Girl."

Another question you may have is why all the hassle.

Answer: Not too many members on this forum have free time to make this pending release less of a hassle, so one will have to wait until a method of switching out each of the 24.PNG files is no longer a hassle.

Result One

Not exactly what I wanted, yet it is a result. I used Photoshop to get this result.

Result Two

Hey, this will work! Now I need to see if I can do the same for the Final Fantasy X styled Battle Menu.

For now, I shall release a Photoshop file for anyone to use. Original artwork by @DLPB and @sl1982.

I will have the files ready for download and release soon. Please send request for your portraits to be used.

If anyone has any ideas to help me, please let me know.

The creators should have left the following portraits in the Battle Mode...

So, if one decides to look up Cloud Strife on Google Images (because Google Images has the best results, even if you think everyone should boycott Google), you will not get any images of him higher than the following image screen resolution:

7700 × 5950

Artwork by

@Nick-Ian of Deviant Art

So yeah, if someone could tell me as well anyone else that is interested as to where high quality images of Cloud Strife are, that would be most appreciated.

Sorry for the run-on sentence at the top of this post.

Completely Unrelated / Why, Sony? Why make this so hard?
« on: 2012-07-23 10:25:39 »
Sony made one of the best consoles ever that is Still for sale to this day.The Playstion2 has a memory file type called .ps2 which has yet to have an easy way to be transferred to a personal computer in a simple way. Instead, fifteen different items and programs in the most complicated way is required. And on top Of that, your PS 2 may not work with famous software like Action Replay or Codebreakers. You have to be a freaken hacker to get it to work with all the components working. So I think I came up with a simple solution. Use a USB PS2 to pS3 memory card reader. Since I need to get it from Amazon.com, I shall have to wait a bit longer to get the Buster sword to Tidus. :-s

Completely Unrelated / A few things..
« on: 2012-07-12 02:28:27 »
I think two members of this forum that recently had a verbal brawl need to find a way to be friends again. I recommend they apologize to each other, then tell each other that they respect their views of the different versions of Final Fantasy VII. I prefer PitBrat's Bootleg Modifier with other mods from other users with the US version of Final Fantasy VII for the personal computer. I love being in control of how things look visually.

I shall make a list of things I will contribute to this site. I am still working on the two dimensional artwork from the seffects files. @sl1982 - I apologize for taking so long on my work, yet I do have an excuse - pizza delivery driver. Just became one, and it wares me out sometimes to work until the early morning, then having to go to my main job five hours later still early in the mornings. I know you and others are patient with me, which I appreciate. I just want to make a good impression by submitting quality artwork.  8-)

Hello everyone,
I just found out about the cannon ending for Final Fantasy XIII-2, and I must say, it is very de...... well, excuse me, I do not want to say that. Some of you have not finished the game or have picked it up yet, so i will not spoil the ending just to be fair. Anyways, could someone please tell me when they get the chance how I could earn this Paradox ending called "The Future is Hope?" If so, please tell me which GameFaqs.com Walk-through could help me do this.  I am having trouble finding one that would help me. Youtube.com Let's Play series could also help me as well, if you want to tell me and others that are interested in this, that is.

Thanks a bunch to anyone who decides to help.  8)

I have removed all the names of the models that have already been modded. I am looking forward to replies from other members of this site.

If one wants to be able to get through the wind, one must temporarily remove the following folders from one's mod directory:

"woa_1"

"woa_2"

"woa_3"

This has worked for me. Let me know if it works for you as well.

Troubleshooting / FacePalmer Problems
« on: 2012-04-14 23:36:23 »
I have tried many different things to ensure that my mod's field folder has all the png files. I think two png files are not working for some reason.  ???

Here are the screenshots of the two areas in Junon where FacePalmer is not working:

And yes, I made Cloud Strife hide since his model belongs to someone else.

16
I, ajthedj747, purchased back in February 2012 a Seagate GoFlex Drive with a hard drive size of 931 Gigabytes. Why? That is because Final Fantasy VII Mods are huge in file size. My battle.lgp file alone is 2.08 Gigabytes. I would like to know how big other users' files are for their hard drives. I shall wait patiently for a response.

Oh, and I chose the Ultima Sword from Dissidia for Cloud Strife as my avatar because it is so awesome a sword.
