Please tell me the subject title is serious, and not a dig at George Carlin.  I don't want to think you're that stupid, I really don't.

all observable facts are illusion

You really don't read what's said to you, do you?  There's a difference between fact and opinion.  You keep throwing out the "fact" that the pacing in The Hobbit was bad, but without providing any evidence to support that claim.  Yes, the pacing was inconsistent, but inconsistent ≠ bad.  I'm actually so sure that you don't read entire posts, that I dare you to quote this to prove me wrong.  That may be one of the poor qualities, but isn't in and of itself enough to taint an entire piece of work.

103
It is a fact that the pacing was inconsistant. That is measurable. However, INCONSISTANT PACING ISN'T OBJECTIVELY BAD. Many people may like, or even prefer a lack of consistency for one reason or another. Just because you don't doesn't mean it was objectively bad.

Example: Fargo.  Fargo had VERY inconsistent pacing, but that doesn't mean the pacing was bad...  Unless you're Dan.

Dan, you have to realize, your design sense isn't the end-all be-all of design sense.  That doesn't mean your design sense is better or worse than other people's design sense, it's just different.  You, however, seem to have it in your head that what you perceive to be bad is bad, and that's the end of it.  You can't appreciate opposing viewpoints to your own, and you use opinions to back up those viewpoints rather than facts, invalidating your reviews.  Every time I have ever seen you review anything, you've done nothing but invalidate the review, by overloading it with bias.  No matter how much this gets explained to you, you can't seem to understand this.  Are you the real life, or just fantasy?

Keep it civil, Cupcake. I'd be warning you right now, but Obesebear seems to have already. ~Covarr

MSE is very good as a free antivirus. Nod32 is probably the best if you want to pay. I use CommonSense 2013 everytime.

I had read AVG somewhere... uck, that thing is (was?) a virus itself. One of their updates got cracked (this was some time ago though) and I never used it again after that.

Both Avast and AVG used to be very good.  Unfortunately, in the last 2 or 3 years, they've both gotten horribly bloated, to the point where they're nigh unusable.  I pretty much equate them to Norton and Symantec these days.

105
I'd like to side with Covarr and say MSE is pretty bitchin' although nod32 may be better if you're willing to pay.  DragonNinja is also correct in that Comodo is pretty awesome, although be aware that it's nothing more than a firewall, so it's not 100% effective (although what security scheme is?).

That being said, I use CommonSense 2013 along with a *nix OS (OS X, to be specific)

Yeah I read that somewhere too, that magnets should be keep away from drives, I appreciate if your trying to help but I don't think using a magnet will help, It's too risky.

It seems I can't perform a chkdsk for error, it just gives me the unable to access disk prompt.

So I tried doing it via Command line, It says my drive is a RAW type so CHKDSK is not available..

I'm looking for a way now to recover files from a RAW file system type, wish me luck!

@ spoox

how do I make the RAW image??

I can guarantee that it won't harm the drive, this is the perfect type of magnet to use, too http://www.reidsupply.com/detail.aspx?itm=IM-319&gclid=CIOqs_S5rLMCFUQw4AodxG4AqA

As I said, I just did this last week and it solved my issues without causing any additional problems.

Is this safe? will it not damage the drive?

Perfectly safe, I actually just had to do this to an old iPod last week, works perfectly now.

Don't worry about square enix cease and desists unless you host it here.  it's fair use.  if they send you one, send them a picture of your cock, that's generally what I do when I get a C&D.

take the strongest magnet you can find, and rub it all over the top of the HDD.

This:

Just need to say, my opinion of you has grown exponentially as a result of you being aware of this show's existence (or at the very least, the existence of Dylan Moran).

Prepare for the cash-ins. Dear lord, is this really the way movies are going now? Reboot after reboot, remake after remake. No creativity and just a cash in mentality. Star wars ep 7 8 9 then another movie every 2 years?

1) You're acting like the prequel trilogy wasn't a cash in.
2) You seem surprised, the movie industry has been like this for years
3) Unfortunately, you're skewing facts, where'd you get "then another movie every 2 years" from?  Did you just delude yourself into thinking you know better than everyone else again?  Do you seriously not realize that half of what you say is pure drivel, and the other half is ignorant babbling?  You seriously disturb me at times.  Completely unable to realize that companies are in business to make money.  Sorry that you'd like the art of media to be the driving force behind it's production, but nope, it's money.  You accuse every company that releases something you don't like to be cashing-in or selling-out.  However, you neglect to realize that this isn't the fucking case, yes they are doing it to make money, but it's no different than the products you do enjoy.

But I digress, I can't act like you have the ability to look at anything objectively, anyway.

They released a new Fifa Street earlier this year.  It's pretty awesome, but a tad glitchy.

Mirror's Edge is worth a play.  I find it plays a lot better on PC (much more responsive controls), but goddamn is it still fun on PS3

Interestingly Apple does use NetBSD on their Airport Extreme and lock it.
Even the older iPods modified PixoOS is encrypted.
In case of a router like the Airport Extreme, if the built-in firmware was a pile of crap, I'd be pissed, but the Airport Extreme is the single best router I have ever used.  Never had a compatibility issue with it, the utility used to configure it is 1000x better than any web form I've ever used, and it has damn good throughput over wifi (I've hit 40 Mbit/s over wifi with mine, not even 5 Ghz wireless, just regular ol' 2.4 Ghz).

As far as the modified PixoOS on the iPod Classic.  It works as advertised, damn near flawlessly.  I've played around with iPod Linux, and Rockbox, and while they're both great replacement firmwares (or at least iPodLinux -WAS- until the project fell apart [for those in the know about it, I'm still waiting for hotdog goddamnit]), they're just not practical on an iPod (although Rockbox may have gotten better, haven't used it in a while, and I don't have a decent screen for the iPod Classic I built, so I don't really wanna mess with it just yet.

tl;dr Airport Extreme and PixoOS are encrypted and locked, but on those devices, it's probably one of the few cases where it's for the better.

its surely more stable then android, but android has the advantage of being open source, with android, YOU are in control of your phone. you can do with it whatever you want as long as the hardware can handle it.. u can't say the same for iOS, you don't rly own it, you're stuck with the product they sell you

To be fair, most vendors try to do this with Android, and lock the bootloader, causing custom ROM installation to be a pain in the ass.  Just as you have to jailbreak iOS to truly own it, you have to root and unlock the bootloader to truly own most (but not all) android devices; so I find that argument to be a bit moot.

116
What about the software? If the OS sucks the hardware doesn't matter.

iOS is actually pretty rock solid.  Don't take me for a blind apple fanboy though, just a regular apple fanboy.  The only thing I don't like about Android is the UI.  Haven't found a launcher for it I like yet, and I don't like some of the base-elements of the UI.

That being said, I'd like an iPhone 5, but it's not enough of an upgrade to make me drop my 4S just yet.

If you do a forum search for rerelease mods, a helpful thread is literally the second result. Hard to miss.

Don't even have to search.  There's a thread TWO THREADS below this one.  Even if it wasn't at his time of writing, I'm willing to bet it was still on the first page.

Is that the Team Avalanche logo I spy in your avatar? I wasn't aware you'd contributed any assets to TA.

To be fair, the TA logo is just the regular Avalanche logo as seen in game.  Entirely possible he grabbed it from TA because he just likes the logo.

Do I need to change my name to Cloudvarr again? I thought we played this one out.

Yeah, sounds vaguely familiar to me, too.

If you have the mcboot installed (noobie package would be good for you available at their site) and ya if you want swapmagic for free download the swapmagic.elf from somewhere and place it on the usb and load it from there, i still have my original swapmagic but scratched like f***

My friend and I bought one for his slim, because at the time it was either SwapMagic, or Independence, and since Independence doesn't work on Slims, he was kinda screwed.  Then FreeMCBoot came around, and I converted my memory card, and used it to convert his.  I think his swapmagic disc is still around somewhere.

121
you can block the sensors with tissues and tape on a slim. on a fat youd have to install a different top or use card trick but thats only if hes using it to play import or burns. i recommended him using swap magic to launch an elf instead of the memory card exploit. swapmagic is just that much easier

Yes, but it's also that much of a rip off.

122
I use a PS2 with FreeMCBoot installed via the independence exploit (YAY FAT PS2), used uLaunchElf to extract saves, use a program on my computer to convert it to .mcr (don't remember the name of the app, sorry), then used CWCheat on my PSP to make it into a PS3-compatible memory card file, and then moved the saves over to my PS3.

I would also like to note that if you have a slim PS2, and you get Swap Magic, you'll need a different disc cover.  It's stupidly easy to install, it's just a pain to get.  If you're enterprising, however, you can block the 5 sensors inside yourself (look up how, I never bothered to do it, the new cover is much less of a pain in the ass to install)

123
I still have my original copy of Zelda for the NES the Gold cartridge.

I have 3 of those, and 2 gold cartridge copies of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

124
I have UmJammer Lammy somewhere, as well as a shitton of NES games, some of them are relatively unknown/awesome.  I have a grey cartridge of Ocarina of Time with the gold cartridge version of the software.  I also have several copies of Shenmue, and the original NBA Jam still in box.

I respect th admins when they respect the rules who they made by himself, instead they call me pirate without ask any explanation.

Because they don't need any explanation, you're using a pirated copy, case closed.  If you happened to have bought it (this has been known in the past), sorry, you got hosed, fucked, screwed, prison raped without so much as a reach around, whatever the fuck you wanna call it.  You're using a pirated copy, it's really that simple.
