Character Pyramid Cursor model?
« on: 2013-09-02 04:29:15 »
So as the title says, I'm looking for the model location of that 3D pyramid that hovers over selected character's heads

I made a replacement for it but I've had no luck finding it, people have suggested it might be in the magic.lgp or the test pyramids in the battle.lgp, but I've went through and replaced all the test pyramids with no success, and I've not found it sifting through the models in the magic.lgp either.

I have no idea of 3D models, so will probably be all bullshit, what I write now  ;D

Why should the cursor be inside the magic.lgp?
I would rather suspect him in the battle.lgp.

And as he hovers over the character's head, I would look for him in this area.

In this list are **ab and **da not identified (ie for cloud rtab and rtda), could that be the cursor?

@Kompass: Nope.

Knowing a bit more about models (and those in FF7), I can tell that it probably has no texture, and most likely lies in magic.lgp, but I wouldn't know which it is. There are a ton of files in there, and it's hard to know what they are. It can't be anywhere else, except maybe ff7.exe. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

Kaldarasha already found it. Can't remember which thread, but it was earlier today. Here it is.

I tried using Massive DAT Editor with these two files, kage.dat and mark.dat. The results were useless. Oh well.

Kage.dat is the shadows. I tried editing those long time ago and I never got the hang of what they were.

They're both in the same format as the PSX battle backgrounds, there's a short blurb about the format in the q-gears document but it is by no means complete.
