Team Avalanche / Re: [HD Remake] WIP Sector 5 slums
« on: 2013-04-29 19:44:48 »
As for this pc... it would have little use as a data storage unit, it's hard drive is about 100 Gb, while I also have a 1 Tb external hard drive. I think I'll just man up and invest into a good PC and be rid of most limitations (I'm thinking something along the lines of a i7 core with 12 Gb ram and an okay GPU, that should do it and remain below $1000).
May I recommend the one I bought from Cyber Power PC, except use a different seller for your purchase:

Wow, let me see here, thirteen pounds sterling a month for the price. I guess that is a good rate. Ninety Nine pounds sterling for the Wireless Modem. Well it looks like it would work well. I am not from the United Kingdom, so I do not know how their network works. I would assume it is more reliable then AT&T's network in the United Soviet States of America.

No Commentary :?:  It is gonna be for people who want to watch the story without battles or anything getting in the way  8-)  Most online walkthroughs are bad quality, skip NPC or essential dialogue, and skip dialogue in general too fast.
I am sure @EQ2Alyza would do a good job on commentary for this game. I would like to know what her voice sounds like.

UPDATE: Oh, that is cool. The application detects whether or not the ff7.exe is running. Good work.

Oh...fruck! :-P Anyone played any Defiance yet! I heard it was an epic fail!
Wow, so I was correct when I suspected this game called Defiance was not worth buying or playing. Thank you for this, @LeonhartGR. I love my copy of Bioshock Infinite on my computer.

If there will be downloadable content for alternative outcomes for the end of this game, then let me know. I have not beat the game yet.

Nice work everyone. Especially you, @FF7Remastered  ;-) . Thank you for that @LeonhartGR  :?: .
If anyone else can think of anything besides what has been revealed so far in this topic, please feel free to post it. Otherwise, I think the whole game has been fully uncovered scene-wise. I must say, I did not know about some of these hidden scenes. Now I shall go back and experience them.

General Discussion / Re: How To Improve Final Fantasy VII
« on: 2013-04-12 04:57:08 »
Final Fantasy X did one thing well - a balanced turn based system with a graphical section that informed the player the order of the turns. Now if one could incorporate these things into Final Fantasy VII, then one would have it made.
Also, if one could control the summon, that would be awesome as well.

Screenshot shows the International Verison of Final Fantasy X on the PCSX2 Emulator. Game was ripped from my expensive copy to an .ISO file. I became frustrated everytime the emulator paused for the game to load, so I made a copy for myself.
Another idea that would be near impossible to do is to make Final Fantasy X into Final Fantasy VII. Nobody would do this.

38
Yes you can do this even if you don't have tifa in the party. Even with Aerith or Red XIII in the party. After Midgar just go straight to Chocobo Farm to get a Chocobo then try to get across the marsh to the cave. Then Cloud will ask the Chocobo to wait for him. I wonder why we couldn't do the same later on though. But at least when you own a chocobo then it won't leave. You can't skip Kalm because you will miss out PHS feature.
Really? Huh, I will have to try this. Thanks for the information. Does anyone else know any secret scenes?

39
You are welcome. During your current play through, @Dark_Ansem, you may come across some hidden scenes on Disc Three. Could you share your save file with me and others on Mediafire.com or Google Drive?

40
I never bought the first, as I never owned any console beyond PS1, so buying this HD version would be my first. Still, I've watched a playthrough on YT and will probably do the same for this HD version, since I won't buy a PS3 just to play it.
If one has an expensive computer, one could purchase an external Blu-Ray player and install a Playstation 3 emulator. I shall provide the web page link to the emulator.

General Discussion / Hidden Scenes in Final Fantasy VII
« on: 2013-03-30 10:33:44 »
Hello everyone,
I would like to share some exclusive information to you because I am a nice guy.

One time recently, while playing Disc One of Final Fantasy VII on the personal computer, I decided to try something new - go to the Mythril Mine too early for the game to expect you to do so. After you chose which party members are to be in the two groups of party members, Cloud is told by Barret to meet him at the town of Kalm. What you do next is earn enough gil to purchase the Chocobo Lure Materia and catch a Chocobo. Once you have done this, outrun the Midgar Zolom and get to the entrance of the Mythril Mine. At the time I did this, Tifa was in my party with Cloud. She told Cloud that Barret was waiting at Kalm, and that they needed to meet with him as soon as possible. Also, she said the following phrase to the Chocobo,
"You do not mind waiting, right? Please wait for us."
I could be wrong about how correct this quote is, so I shall correct it soon. My first thought after Tifa said this was, "Yeah right, like that Chocobo is going to wait. Nah, it will run off." Boy was I wrong. The creators of this game knew how hard the Midgar Zolom was that they actually programmed the Chocobo to wait for you on the World Map. On Disc One. Wow! Name another video game in this world that has that kind of programming in it. No really, please name some video games, I am very interested in this kind of knowledge.

Recently, On Disc Two, I was in North Corel. Cloud, when crossing the bridge towards the Mako Reactor, was stopped by Tifa. Here is what followed:

As one may notice, I had to press Print-Screen as fast as possible on my keyboard and paste the screen shots into Microsoft Paint. Sorry for the poor job doing so.

So, who here has caused this hidden scene to occur for them? Can it happen on the Playstation? Is this not awesome? I shall take a print screen for evidence soon.
Who here has found a hidden scene? I already know about most of the hidden scenes, so do your best to name hidden scenes that have yet to be told by a walkthrough or by a wiki page.
I look forward to your responses.

Every time someone asks, he adds a month to the release date. :-)

43
Thank Heavens, a solution. Wait, visual studio? Oh, Microsoft Visual Studio 2012. I shall see if I can figure out a way to edit the data with it.

44
Yup, I knew it. Sorry about that. Um, maybe I should ask other members of this forum?

Have you tried to edit a scene.bin with Zangan for the Final Fantasy VII for the Playstation? I may have read that the scene.bin may be structured in a way that it may be edited. Or I am just completely wrong.

45
Grosse Gott.
I shall help you look for it.

*Update* - http://wiki.qhimm.com/view/FF7/Battle/Battle_scenes
Code: [Select]
There are few programs written that will help you edit scene.bin file: Scene Reader  SceneEdit  Scenester  Proud Clod Spinningcone.com - now that is an interesting name for a company website.

Oh wait, the website is still under construction.

46
Thank you @NFITC1, for this information. I used Barret and his Missing score to defeat Emerald Weapon. For some reason I had the hardest time trying in vein to defeat that opponent using different modifications to the game. Oh wait, it is because I mixed and matched with Wall-market my kernel.bin files, isn't it. I can not remember why I had such a hard time. Maybe this is due to my laziness.
Anyways @Raziel80, so there you have it. Lord knows why Vincent Valentine did not bring the Death Penalty to the battle against Bahamut SIN. Oh wait, maybe because it was destroyed during the meteor impact. Who knows? What I do know it that I was able to buy Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete on Blu-Ray Disc for 5.64 USD fro a pawn shop. Sad, isn't it? Sony Pictures should have spent more money on the film.

*snicker* Thank God I live not to far away from Pennsylvania. Oh wait, I do not have $640.00 to spend. Forget it then, I guess I shall not get to see this anytime soon. Oh well :-)

Hello @strife98, I have an idea - illustrate the off camera scene where Cloud Strife receives the Ultima Sword for the first time after destroying Ultima Weapon. If you do not choose this subject matter, then I shall gladly create this artwork myself as a hand-drawn illustration. It is about time I put my Bachelors degree in Graphic Design to use for once.
Oh, as you may have noticed, I am a dumb idiot that slobbers over the Dissidia Final Fantasy version of the Ultima Sword for Cloud Strife. This is very clear indeed to everyone because of my avatar.

49
Who knows the morph formula with Death Penalty? It does not deal damage 1/8 of normal attack.
Normal attack formula for Death Penalty is   [Power * [Vincent's Kills / 128] / 16] + 10, I think in the Wallmarket formula is more accurate.
Examples of damage with Death Penalty: Vincent lvl 99 with 255 str

 Vincent's Kills=100:                            Kills=1000:                             Kills=3000:                             Kills=6000:                        Kills=9000:
normal damage is ~3300;      normal damage ~5900           normal damage ~11000      normal damage ~19000     normal damage is ~26000
morph damage is ~3200;       morph damage ~3600           morph damage ~  4300      morph damage  ~  5200      morph damage is ~  6000

  Vincent's Kills=18000:                           Kills=27000:
normal damage ~50000;             normal damage ~72000
morph damage ~8700;              morph damage ~12000

After reading your post, I remembered a chap named @Absolute Steve on Gamefaqs.com and his in depth Final Fantasy Frequently Asked Questions and Walk-through guide. This guide may be the most informative guide to Final Fantasy VII, unless someone could point out a better one. You can find his text based guide at the following URL:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps/197341-final-fantasy-vii/faqs/45703

Here is the information that is relevant to this topic. This was written by @Absolute Steve in the Walk-through:
Quote
-------------------------------.
Vincent: Death Penalty & Chaos |
-------------------------------'
Both Death Penalty and Chaos are found in the waterfall cave. Once you've
gotten either a Green or Blue Chocobo, OR the Submarine, you can check out the
waterfall cave west the Gold Saucer, and southwest of North Corel. Have Vincent
in your party and a scene will happen. After this, fight 10 random battles
(though you can't get encounters near the waterfall) and return here with
Vincent again. You'll receive his Ultimate Limit Break: Chaos, and his Ultimate
Weapon: Death Penalty.

[Power * [Vincent's Kills / 128] / 16] + 10
(In other words, the more enemies Vincent kills, no matter with which weapon,
the more powerful Death Penalty becomes. This can even cause overflow damage at
very high kills.)
You say the Wallmarket Application has a better formula.... So it seems? That does it, I am going to become an electrician and a mathemitian. I am tired of being ignorant.
