[FF7PC] Custom Battle Scenes (2009-09-20)
« on: 2009-09-20 08:12:04 »
I been working on the battle scenes texture, trying to re-texture them to be better. So far I only got Sector 1 done which is the fist mission for avalanche in the game. I have uploaded the files so everyone can try them, and tell me how there are and if there an improvement. Also how and what to improve or just to move on the the next part of the game. To install all you have to do is download then decompress your battle.lgp file then copy all the downloaded files into your battle folder and overwrite. Then just re-compress and start a new game to check out the new battle textures.

download link for Sector 1

Sorry you have to download each file individually i don't know how to put it all in one folder to download.

So why are you interested in making models and texture updates if you can't actually test them first hand? Seems a little strange to me, I think first hand testing is a definite must!

The battle lgp is stored in the data folder which should be in your ff7 directory (C:\program files\square soft, inc\final fantasy 7\data\battle), that is if you installed in the default location and to extract the battle.lgp you have to use a program such as LGP tools, you can do a search on the forums for it  :-)

Haha, no, Kudi---Alexa is.

to be honest I dont particularly like it. The textures arn't inherently bad, but they dont seem to fit colorwise, and some dont line up. the details look badly scaled (i dont rmmbr what the originals look like)

I think the problem is that they are too clean. Since the Mako reactor is an industrial setting, and since Midgar is generally polluted, they should look much dirtier. Some darker colours and more browns would make them look better.
