The first link is not working...Can you please check that, -gone away- ?

I've been away while uni's on, thats why the names -gone away- lol.
..got some free time now that easter holidays are comming up, so i thought i would check whats up here.

.. anyway both those links should be down by now.. as thats with an old yahoo account which i havent used in a long time.

Um... quite simply the editor will not be updated or supported unless a specific bug to do with the re-compression of files gets fixed, i thought of a way to fix it the other day which i might try out after this friday, if it works then i'll get back into finishing off the editor, probly convert it over so it doesn't require .net 2.0 as well, if that ever happens then ill fix up the links.

Archive / FF7 texture filtering?

Of course. You get texture filtering when you enable the Hardware mode. If your card fails the 8-bit pallete test, simply check the TNT option (actually works for most cards) and it will allow you to select Hardware mode.

I thought he was talking about the background images?

This is a bit of a blantant bump, but you really should put links up to your software in the Compilation of Programs section, the thread keeps disapearing way down the bottom.

Some old & also some cheap cards do it automatically... i think its a hardware thing.

I've got a card somewhere here that does it (TNT card maybe??) i'll rummage around and see if i can find out which one and take a screeny of it.

The good thing about hyperthreading is you can disable it for any app you want. you can select which cpu(simulated cpu) you want to process the app with. Or if you really want you can disable it altogether in the bios.

I used to like DBZ ... but now its just too childish for me to stand watching, now i expect things to up around the level of beserk, or if it humorous i want it to be like cowboy bebop.

My Desire: "If only FFX simply wasn't (so there wouldn't be a dumbass running around with a horrible storyline, not to mention the famous shinra scene in FFX-2)!"

Granted ... althought i have no idea what your trying to say so i could've just granted anything.

I wish people would start comming up with funny & whitty responses rather than the usual "It's poisoned you die" or "Granted... but your now dead".

I dont think software mode should be counted as a viable fix, as by using software mode you are not using your video card which is what has the problem.

It is the metaphorical equivilant of cutting off your leg just because you have something wrong with it. It gets rid of one problem but in the long run causes more.

Short Answer : Cannot currently be fixed.

see here

or here

Use the fucking search button next time... or at least read a few of the topic names. "seek and ye shall find" .

This questions starting to piss me off, you can probly tell this but im not in a very good mood today

however this is the first time ive heard of it affecting the FX5200, so you may be lucky the 1.02 patch might fix it or different drivers might fix it.

I don't understand why that program is such a CPU hog.

Hehe, yea it totally slows down every app you use unless you have a p4 like mine. That way it only uses 50% rather than 100% of your cpu.

Then again, I'm assuming that that's what you're doing -- if it's the other way around (choco world in background while playing FF8), isn't that equally as pointless?

No its not pointless, it collects the items for you automatically. It's fine to run them at the same time. I play FF8 while its running in the background. As soon as you catch your first chocobo you can then import all those items... its saves wasting time.

I wish I didn’t have to shave every day to prevent my facial hair from growing longer than 0.1 millimeters.

Granted, but now you have to shave your pubs' each day to prevent them from sticking out the bottom of your pants & sleeve's.

I wish i was born of one of the elite avain race's. ( Human with Wing's - icarii ) with no physical or mental disabilities of any sort.

Could you also do the same for Cait Sith once you are done with this? I would like to use that stupid character for something...

I've never seen half of cait siths limit breaks... it would be good to be able to select which on you want to use... or mabye just an easier(slower) wheel thingy.

Alternatively, the music volume should be able to be controlled by opening the Windows Volume Control and using either the  "Wave" or "MIDI" volume sliders, depending upon your soundcard -- 9 times outta 10, its gonna be the Wave slider, though.

Both app's use MIDI so you cannot do it that way without turning down the volume of both of them which isn't what i wanted.

Not sure what your looking for but you might want to try the qhimm wiki

Well, try newer drivers, then.  I know that, with ff-7-, my 6600gt supports it just fine with the latest drivers.  Try getting something in the 77.xx or 8x.xx and see what happens =)

They're talking about FF8 not FF7, just about any drivers should work on ff7 from what i've seen.

As for kyori_arg, so far no one here has managed to fix this problem, and there is already a thread about the black boxes problem here.
i would suggest to search elsewhere. It seems to be the whole 6 series that does'nt work with ff8.

A possible fix which i didn't think of before could be to uses wrappers. They can be a bit difficult to find so you will have to search around yourself, but basically what they do is emulate different video mode's (Glide, OpenGl, DirectX9 ..ect) ... they are mainly used for old games like, forsaken, um.. cannot really think of anything else, basically mainly used for old glide app's.

Anyway, goodluck with the problem .. because like i said no one here has managed to fix it.

If you want to find out why its addictive, search around for information on repetition. As odd as it sounds one of the key reasons the game is addictive is due the repetiveness of the gameplay & the feeling of earning something, its the same with card games like solitare, free cell and all those.

Its got to do with some gland that produces a drug within your brain, some people are more affected by it than others. There was recienly a thing on the news about a drug that cause the gland to produce too much & was linked with people getting addicted to gambling and slot machines.

... here we go found an article on it.
