@5way: this program doesnt work
@DLPB: really sorry for the noobism. but i dont get. i open window.bin with a hex editor but the values finish at 33D0 (very logicaly. the file is only 13kb)

maybe you mean assembly and not hex editor?

i dont know if anyone cares about that but i found a solution!

the solution is: make the convertion manually from hex

now i can edit any character ingame, or change font with palettes included

if someone want more infos just pm me

ofcourse i try the bmp ingame... and the image is 256x256px for sure, cause i didnt try to edit the bmp

here watch step by step what i doing..

do you know any other way?? what if you trying to do the same??... if you follow the same steps?

you are right! with Omega i can do a convertion with palettes!

thanx a lot man!! :)



but i have another problem now.I will show you how my new .tex file looks after convertion with omega:

(i open the new .tex with img2tex just to see the result)

the palettes work fine now.. but with omega i have this problem


i use omega version 1.3.. it may be problematic..... i will searching for another

All i want is to change the font. i following these steps:

1) open menu_us.lgp with lgptools (yea i know it's old)
2) export usfont_b_h.tex to a folder

3) convert usfont_b_h.tex to usfont_b_h.bmp with all palettes and reconvert it back to .tex

that's the problem!

i used a lot of converters: img2tex, textool, highwind, omega.. even biturn
none of these can import ALL palettes back to .tex
none of these can export ALL palettes to .bmp (expect omega.. but 1file/palette... i dont think is right)

i think this is very important because if we solve this, ff7 translating to other languages will be much easier

i want to translate into greek and thats my only problem

im happy to hear that. Finally, a way to alter the font!

maybe i will try this way temporary for start translating the game, but i want to found another way, to convert all the palettes into one .tex.

is it so hard to do this convertion?

hellow!

im using this program to convert ff7 tex files to bmp and then, bmp back to tex but i have a problem..

when i finish the convertion and pack the usfont_b_h.tex file back to the menu_us.lgp, the color isnt the same. it turns into gray (if i use software rendering mode) or light-blue (if i use direct3d hardware acceleration mode). here are the pics:





anyone to know how to solve this problem??
