El Ammo Bandito is unlikely to return. You just don't come back after compromising your colleagues. Ever.
It probably sounds like I'm being judgmental. I'm not - I'm being matter-of-fact. I think he was a good administrator. But you can't leave the way he did and return to a forum, even as non-staff. Unbanning people to 'sabotage' the community is a pretty clear '**** you', no matter how you look at it.
I myself once left another community, and its moderator post, in less-than-friendly circumstances. After doing something like that, returning is just too 'complicated', even when the arguments stay behind closed doors, and you write nothing of your departure except the standard issue 'too busy / v. sad / great times' sign off. I just can't see any way for Jari to return.
