I'm having problems with the world map (globe and translucent) reverting after battles as well as the Balamb Garden (mobile) texture reverting after battles.  So far with the world maps, it reverted after random battles with Fastatocilon-F on Balamb beaches in Disk 1 (not every battle with them, just random ones) and Mesmerize and Snow Lion near Shumi Village in Disk 2.  The Balamb Garden texture has reverted after battles with Mesmerize as well outside of Shumi Village, but did stay the same after my battle with Snow Lion.  Also I watched the Youtube video above and for some reason my forests have never looked like what was shown.
Current Version:
Horizon Pack 3.0
Tonberry 2.04
FFVIII on Steam

FF7Music should play OGGs just fine. If they're not playing in-game, are you sure you have ff7music open while you run ff7?

It was because I downloaded the wrong version and had the MP3's.  I got the correct ones and it plays perfectly.

Hi there.  I've been searching to a solution to this problem for a few months, but no luck.  I have the Reasonable difficulty mod installed on my FF7 game and love it!  However, I've reached the point where I'm in the Corel Prison, and I usually spend quite a bit of time fighting in the desert, mostly Sand Worms, but in regular play, there's supposed to be a Cactaur occasionally that will drop 10,000 gil.  Well there's no problem with the Sand Worms but there is a situation with the Cactaurs.  When it tries to load a cactaur battle, the battle scene loads with the ShinRa building and I fight a single Grunt.  I know this was a issue with previous releases latter in the game that were supposed to have been corrected.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My bet is this: open FF7Config and go to Sound tab. Set it to the right one.

Thank you so much.  That got the game to play, but now I have no music.  I have sound effects but no music.

EDIT:  Nevermind, I guess it deleted all my OSTRe music files when I did the first uninstall so I've got to redownload them.

EDIT 2:  So I redownloaded the OSTRe music files.  They play fine on my computer (outside the game) but they don't play in game.  Are they supposed to be mp3 form?  That's what I got from the download.

Hello all,
I've been reading on here a while, and have installed quite a few mods successfully.  FF7 music even used to work for me.  However I haven't played in a few months.  I ended up changing my graphics card to an Nvidia GEFORCE GT 610.  For a while I had to rig my computer for sound to come through my computer speakers instead of through the TV that I have the computer set up through.  Well tonight I hooked it back up to the TV via an HDMI cable.  I tried to play FF7 using an FF7music, but I get this error.

WM_ACTIVATEAPP

INITIALIZE DD/D3D START

DIRECT SOUND ERROR

ERROR: No sound driver is available for use. in FILE C:\lib\src\sound\dx_snd.cpp LINE 68

I downloaded the latest version of DirectX sound drivers, and my graphics card's sound drivers are up to date, but I still get this error and cannot even play the game.  I have even tried to uninstall and reinstall FF7 music, but it still doesn't work.

Sound works, because it's working for other games that I play.

I am running windows 7 and yes I am running as administrator.  Any help would be appreciated.
