Releases / Re: [FF7PC-98/Steam] New Threat Mod (v1.5)
« on: 2019-09-08 03:25:44 »
Is there a list of all the bosses that can successfully be morphed? I wouldn't want to know what they turn into, but just if it's possible.

It's pretty difficult (and occasionally frustrating) to morph the bosses, especially with the increased difficulty. Kind of has made me dread boss fights because I'll put in so much effort, maybe even accidentally kill them because of a surprise crit or counter attack and have to redo it, just to find out they don't even turn into anything.

Would be cool if Sense could say whether an enemy was morph-able, but I get that probably isn't an option.

In the files downloaded, and if you aren't using the version in 7th heaven, you can find an excel with all that information. Pretty usefull.

---------------

A question,
Spoiler: show
 I just killed the chocobo from Kalm and the old man gave me the 3 fakes materias. It gave me again the long range materia and the Desert Rose and Earth Harp. The reward here depend what materia I touch to trigger the battle? In that case, what are the others rewards?

And I guess I finished all extra content. Pretty fun them all. Only Sephi left.

I don't have enough words to praise this mod. In many cases it made the history more comfortable to read and follow the events. And battles were so much fun. Thanks to do this.

Cait Sith only has one new Limit Break on his Lv.1 Limits that is unlocked after Dice. He has no Lv.4 Limit, but still has a sidequest like the other characters except he gets an item that is used to make his ultimate weapon instead. Sorry for the confusion.

What pity :P. Thanks for the answer.

Btw having alot fun with the sidequest and optional bosses. I was AM very impressed with them.

Hello again! I have another question. I am completing the run and I am finishing the Limit 4 sidequests right now. And I have a question... I saw a new Limit Break was added for Cait Sith and he has a sidequest for Limit Break 4. Has him new limit breaks 4? I opened Black Chocobo to check it but it isn't prepared for it so...

Again I didn't find anything in search tab about it, sorry :/

Thanks for your time.

Hey no problem! There's a lot of great information in this thread but it's over 330 pages of stuff to read through hehe. Nobody blames you for not finding it lol.

The good thing is in the short time I've been on here, there are many people willing to help and answer questions you may have within a day or so of you posting it.

Also, your English seems just fine to me.
Thanks, but my English is very basic. Many times I can't find things in English because my vocabulary is insufficient. And many times Google Translate don't help so neither ^^

7th Heaven / Cursor volume issues
« on: 2019-08-20 05:23:49 »
Hello! Since few days (I guess since I musted change my usb headphones to a jack ones) I have an issue with the cursor volume. The first I did was run again FF7_GameConverter_7H.exe to detect the new sound device.

Ok, now the problem is that the cursor sound sometimes sounds correctly but very frequently it goes to a very low volume. If I change it in config to something audible, then in battle the sound is very louder and it hurts my ears.

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

It's an oversight left over from Sega Chief. Not a secret character, it's not Sephiroth joining the party, just something left over from when he was testing out.

He mentioned it a couple times in the thread  :)

Oh! I thought something like that. Thanks! I guess my English wasn't enough good to know how to find it in the thread :3

Hello again SegaChief, I guess I found a minor bug. I just back to Midgar and saw this:
Spoiler: show
https://mega.nz/#F!YOwAGIQS!F4MJEGiipwYI3L5fRwGpWA . You can find there an imagen and the save file. It is a minor bug thought, just visual. I am not totally sure if Aerith can be ressed in New Threat, but a npc in Highwind, some videos and this cutscene looks like it. Anyway the minor bug is that Aerith is here and I don't have her at that point.

Thanks again for the mod!

Oh my god, the Goldberry boss. It was a very long battle (I am in CD2 still, just after Cloud backs). I managed to do them after several trys and when I found a good strategy it taken over 50 minutes to kill them. Chronocure was the key, but I had it because I had "Alpha" before change the version. Anyway was fun :P (I have a video of it xD).

Btw, if a character has equipped "Fury Ring" (The autoberserker one), Chronocure is able to "heal" it. Is it deliberated?

Thanks for the mod :P

This save file seems to be at the ropeway station prior to the keystone being stolen, but you mentioned being just after Mideel when Tifa finds Cloud. Is this the correct save file?

Crap I am silly, sorry. Resharing :3

Hello! First at all thanks Sega Chief and all who did this mod. I am really enjoying the mod. Many things look more understandable and natural. Bosses are pretty fun!.

I was waiting to finish it to say my impressions, but I had a question right now and I am not sure if I broke it in someway.

Mostly of my charactes are stuck in 255/200 and the "thing" don't see they can rank up. Others characters yes (Vincent and Cid only). Is there a restriction for history moment or something? (I am just after Tifa found Cloud in Middle).

Another thing. I went to ancient Forest and the last cave (where generally you can find Apocalypse) don't spawn. It just teleport me to world map.

Note: Just in case it is important, at the start I used the 7th heaven one, but I noticed it was outdated and replaced with 1.5. Its probably it will the problem but just in case.

Thanks!

Hey vegetamaker, In case your having the same issue, what fixed it for me was turning off Windows Data Execution Prevention (D.E.P.) You can either add the .exe file you want to use to the exclusions, or just turn it off for everything not windows related. I've been working on this for a week, just finally got it tracked down to this!

I love you. It was the problem. Now lets see if all works together :D

Hello guys, I am trying to mod the game and I found this problem:

https://imgur.com/x1WLJzZ

After a while I discovered that 60fps battles from Animations mod crash my game like this. If I disable it, it works. All my trys are using only that mod.

 I did several reinstalls (with all steps: uninstall, delete folder, FF7-REMOVE-Keys.exe, CCleaner64.exe , reinstall, FF7_GameConverter_7H). Sounds works properly while using the GameConverter. At the end I tryed again all with English instead Spanish with the same result. I even downgrade the 7th heaven to 1.54, that is the one I am using atm.

## USER OPTIONS ##
## If you just want to play the game, these are the only options you'll want to change.

# set the window size (or fullscreen resolution) of FF7
# 0 means use original resolution in window mode, your current desktop resolution will be used in fullscreen mode
# preserve_aspect adds black borders as needed to preserve a 4:3 aspect ratio
window_size_x = 1920
window_size_y = 1080
internal_size_x = 1920
internal_size_y = 1080
preserve_aspect = on
fullscreen = off

# mod directory
# subdirectroy of mods/ where textures will be loaded from
mod_path = Textures

# check your Nvidia/ATI/Intel control panel settings if this option doesn't seem to work
enable_vsync = on

# allow FF7 to use linear filtering for its textures
# some things look slightly better with this option on, but alot of textures just lose their detail
# only affects low-res textures, high-res replacements will still be filtered where appropriate
linear_filter = off

# plugin used to play music, VGMstream requires a set of looping .ogg files in the music/vgmstream folder.
# If no music plugin is loaded the game will play MIDI as usual but FF7Music will NOT work.
music_plugin = plugins/vgmstream_music.fgp

## ENHANCEMENTS ##
## All the little extras that weren't part of the original game, default options include only trivial bug fixes.

# make all dialog boxes transparent, same effect as the transparent dialog boxes YAMP patch
transparent_dialogs = on

# include armor in magic defense calculation
mdef_fix = yes

# minigame fixes
snowboard_framerate=60
highway_framerate=30
coaster_framerate=60
battleswirl_framerate=60

# post-processing shader, used to apply fullscreen effects
post_source = shaders/SmartBloomAdvanced.post
enable_postprocessing = yes

## ADVANCED OPTIONS ##
## Don't fiddle with these unless you know what you're doing.

# enable alpha blending for textures without an existing blending effect
fancy_transparency = yes

# display frames per second counter in upper right corner
show_fps = off

# display some real-time debug information
show_stats = off

# store external textures in a compressed cache for increased performance
# compression is not lossless, some artifacts may appear when this option is in use
# texture cache does NOT update automatically if the source image changes, however, deleting anything from the cache
# will cause that file to be recreated from the source
compress_textures = no

# max size of the texture cache to hold in RAM, in megabytes
# don't set it any higher than 1GB unless you want your game to crash
texture_cache_size = 768

# use pixel buffer objects to speed up texture loading
# might crash horribly on ATI cards but should work for NVIDIA users
use_pbo = yes

# use mipmaps (anisotropic filtering) for high-res textures
use_mipmaps = yes

# replace FF7's default framelimiter timer source
use_new_timer = yes

# plugin used to play movies, FFMpeg is the only choice for now
movie_plugin = plugins/ffmpeg_movies.fgp

## MODDER OPTIONS ##
## These options are mostly useful to modders and should not be enabled during normal play.

# read files directly instead of using LGP archives
# for example; if FF7 is looking for aaab.rsd in char.lgp, this option will make it open direct/char/aaab.rsd first,
# if this file doesn't exist it will look for the original in the LGP archive
direct_mode = on

# show every failed attempt at loading a .png texture
show_missing_textures = off

# extern additional library
load_library = Multi.dll

The squares in light blue indicate that the text is not resizable. And the majority of texts not resize do not appear on the selected screen.

There are often duplicates texts on several screens.

So i could just delete all them? It could be really good for do the file littler and for fix texts ^^

There are some much bigger problems with the translation; the typos are just irritating, some of these can lead to real misunderstandings.

Now imagine what things can be found in the spanish version when they translated it from english version (if i am not wrong xD). Thanks for the link, if i finally i translate it (even if is only for my own use) it will help alot! ^^

Edit: Anyway i should translate the spanish version first for use it in "normal mode" and after the "hardcore mode". Just for follow a logic order.

Jum... So all files are 100% necesary for the mod. Well... then if i am very bored, and with the permisson of gjoerulv,  i could translate all texts to Spanish (just comparing and copy-pasting with the original) and, why not, improving it for a better translation (even if the pc version is better translaten than psx version there are alot bad things translated. Alot confuses with "he" and "she" haha).

« on: 2009-03-31 01:27:46 »
Well... i guess that ppl will start hate me because i am asking alot hehe. I am just trying all programs in the http://wiki.qhimm.com/FF7/Technical/Customising (atleast those that i thing are interesting for me ^^). Now was the turn for Loveless and is really awesome ^^.

I was tring change the first message of the game (just for check it) and i musted edit ALOT times the same message with loveless program but only 1 time i came change the window size and positioning. Then i saw that in the middle column mostly "items" had a "semi-transparent" color and others normal. Those normal were that i can resize.

That mean that those message that i cant resize are not used in game? Just for fill data base maybe or their have other usage?

One more time, Thanks for all.

Edit: Added screenshot

Yeah now I added a download for users of non-English versions. Check out the 1st page.

OMG!. I guess i will love u alot. Thanks so much gjoerulv! Just downloading :D

EDIT:

Ok, downloaded and patching. But there is still a prob: the flevel.lgp file. The spanish version is called "sflevel.lgp" so i renamed it. The patch cant path it (is where all text are if i am not wrong). What i will miss if i dont patch it?

Thanks!
