Hello everyone, the only thing this forum is missing is the ability to show signature^^. I'm looking for a DexDrive > PC converter. That would be wonderful! Either that or a save somewhere near the end of disc 2. I recently had a hard drive failure and I now need to redo all the music patches and everything for FFVIII, it would be very sad to hear that I have to start off from the beginning again when I was just getting interested in it. To anyone who can help, thank you. ^_^

As for your problem, I don't deal with things like that, so couldn't possibly think of how to get you a new save file.
Unless you go to www.Gamefaqs.com and download one from the FF8 PC gamepage.

Very true, tis' old, and clearly I know how to use the search feature, but it's still a valid topic. Why create a new one if one is there already? Waste of space in my opinion, this has to go on someone's hard drive after all.
I will, however, post in the general discussion forum. Perhaps someone there will atleast have the save I need.

takes up just about the same space in the database, which is almost nothing :) a few kb

If the topic is from 2001 like that one, just make a new topic and post a link. We don't need posts that old brought to the top. There is probably almost no one around who remembers when that topic was active, anyway.

There has never been PC game saves at GameFaqs, only console game saves from recent years with the PSX and up.
Now, back to the topic at hand, perhaps Qhimm could be of service?

Google a search for a program called "PSXMemtool" It supports the save games for FF7 and FF8 PC, DexDrive Saves, and most PSX emulators.

I found one, but I need the PBVM60.dll file to run it. Does it convert FFVIII PSX saves to PC saves to use in the PC version of the game?

Yes, it converts DexDrive saves into FF8PC format. As for PBVM60.dll, google should find it easy enough.

does one know, if this PSX Mem Tool allows following:
PSX Savestate -> Convert to PC -> load up in PC FF7 -> use trainer for cheating -> Convert back to PSX.
Also i put a Search on "FF7 PSX Trainer" - is there something?

Why don't you simply try it?
