Completely Unrelated / Desktop Background Music
« on: 2012-04-18 02:35:30 »
Anyone knows of any free tool for windows 7 to loop a track everytime windows starts and stay in the background? I'm interested in a background utility that doesn't consume too many resources. I want to use an m3u playlist of ffxiii-2 and I have combined 2 videos in one to run as my desktop background by Neon Genesis Evangelion. Here it is for anyone interested http://www.mediafire.com/?5568o5czil2pahf.  I used Dreamscene to do this http://www.dreamsceneseven.com/. Thanks!

Well I gathered all overclocked remix songs from this page http://ocremix.org/game/13/final-fantasy-viii-ps1 for anyone interested in using them in mods. General Discussion / Automated modeler
« on: 2012-04-14 01:49:54 »
I was wondering if it is possible to be created an automated model designer for ff7 like in Saint's Raw the 3rd game that you can edit the values of your model without being an experienced programmer or designer. Just a thought!

I believe that this should not be absent in a modders forum...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdWkKKSckNk

It is a proof that it is possible to be created a movie for each of the characters included in the video...

Thumbs up if you noticed that the only character that looked cheap among the rest was Lightning lol  ;D

I'd prefer Assassin's Creed, God of war or a new Final fantasy movie.

I don't have facebook or twitter please inform me if there is any link for download... I admit I'm really surprised there is no forum for this mod since it's almost considered abandonware! I would really love to play this awesome remake!!!

General Discussion / Final fantasy vii technical demo
« on: 2012-02-22 11:54:26 »
I was wondering if I can find the official "Final fantasy vii technical demo" with the "Cloud jumping off train" scene in original quality that released in E3. I need it to remake my opening.avi from start to achieve the highest quality possible. I have only found some shaggy or camera qualities on youtube with bad sound. Thanks for any help!

*UPDATE* I found a descent quality here http://www.fantasyanime.com/finalfantasy/ff7ps3techdemo.htm

Video is 640x480, please notify me if you find any higher quality.

Troubleshooting / FFVII Limit break issue
« on: 2012-02-21 13:21:30 »
There is something wrong with loading the limit break textures, appears to be just bright blank without the fire texture around the character. I don't know if it is the grimmy upscaled textures I placed in mod path or something else.

*UPDATE* I deleted the folder "data" that I got from grimmy (didn't replace anything) It still doesn't load limit break textures :(( like it's stuck!

*UPDATE* I tried copying only the images in my magic folder and seemed to work great but I still have problem with the limit breaks, though I'm suspicious that it doesn't read some other files too. I can't raw copy all .png files in the magic folder because it asks me to overwrite some. This means that I need to copy some files in another folder. I will try some changes but if someone knows better please help :)  Here I post a screenshot with my setup. Thank you!

*UPDATE* I copied all pngs as they are from each folder into the magic folder but kept both files when it asked to overwrite so there are some pngs with the same size renamed and with jo_b03_00.png not duplicate. I notice the difference in magic spells but limit break texture is still absent (I use the limit's flash V4 by kela51). I also noticed there are 2 .tex files 1.tex, baku1.tex which I replaced into the magic.lgp. I uploaded a video on youtube to see what's happening http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFO8Mu5HmTc

*UPDATE* I'm starting to get something out of this by reading my APP.log...

Releases / [FF7PC] New FFVII Intro FMVs (2012-11-20)
« on: 2012-02-20 13:01:38 »
Congratulations for all the work that's been done... It's really amazing everyone! The least I could contribute is some videos. Well I'm replacing eidoslogo.avi, sqlogo.avi and opening.avi with some cool videos. Goal is to explain the starter story in a smoother way for someone that's not familiar with the game. The videos I edited are from youtube and i will post my sources as soon as I post the links for download. I am currently rendering the sqlogo.avi and I wish it works fine (I'm rendering into 1080p so it will take some time with adobe premier, afterwards I need to rerender it into 1280x960 with mp4 to avi to work in the game). I use resolution 1280x960 for my 32'' screen and i play on 1920x1080. Thanks and I hope you enjoy those ;)!

If someone is more familiar with the new adobe cs5.5 I would appreciate any help provided. For example I cannot understand why when I export the video sound is always uncompressed. If some can work better on my videos I will be so glad. I will post the links as soon as I upload them on mediafire (i have some connection issues with my ISP lately, suddenly speed dropped to    578 / 2.851 from 1.000/12.000 !!! and things are a little slow since then).

...

Just a tiny progress update... I tested all 3 filed and work wonderful with my settings! I thought of color correcting the eidoslogo.avi once more. As soon as I test it I will try to upload the files and share :)) . My damn ISP has cut down my speed since Friday and after all that happened with Sopa Acta Pipa (ACTA was actually approved in my country-Greece) i"m getting suspicious of what's really going on here!!! Conspiracy theories are truly passing through my mind...

Well I'm posting the links in a few hours... I'm thrilled with the result!
...

Videos I used!
(All videos are reencoded in 1280x960 25fps H.264/mpeg-4 AVC, sound AC3-Dolby AC3 320 kbit/s 48000HZ)

1. OathkeepersRedRose's Final fantasy vii compilation as eidos.avi I corrected the colors a bit with adobe premier. Please give credit to OathkeepersRedRose and subscribe to her channel on youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/OathkeepersRedRose#p/u/34/6XK8CUVEF2s

2. Crisis Core ending by Ryu Hayabusa (go subscribe http://www.youtube.com/user/Nurullah1200).: I edited the credits and last scene with Cloud and placed a nice transition to the "continue in ffvii" part.

3. Opening avi by Grimmy http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=8414.msg101495#msg101495 in combination with the technical demo. I could say that I did some work on those two to combine the scene with the train and the Cloud scene from Crisis Core.

Here are the links- DO NEVER FORGET TO BACK UP WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO REPLACE! (tell ME that :))) ):

*UPDATE* Currently remaking the opening.avi to achieve better quality. I'll try 1280X940 resolution since I noticed subtitles with Cloud on train are half chopped.

*UPDATE!!!* 6 a.m.! lol worked all night to prepare my new preview ;) ;) I would just love to listen to your opinion (and that's just the preview :P). I have cleared the sound with some filters for the original version. Here's the link on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGQcBmoV6FY&feature=youtu.be

opening.avi

*UPDATE* After returning back home from an amazing International Iaido/Jodo seminar in Sofia (Bulgaria), I've tried a few things and ended up with a wonderful quality of video and sound that actually works with the game :D !!!  Here are some sample shots for the sqlogo.avi redone from start with insane quality of video and sound for the game's intro. Thanks DLPB for his support. Enjoy!

***UPDATE*** Finally I'm releasing my 2 last videos and I can say I complete my trilogy setup for FFVII FMV intro remake (quadrology if you include prelude too)

New links are:
New opening.avi: https://rapidshare.com/files/3139351966/opening.avi (For full speed!!! Peeje link: New opening.avi Remade from start! 1280X896 res. Combined Crisis Core secret ending with various Technical Demo releases, with a retro twist transition from the old FFVII opening. If sound is not perfect in some points it's not my fault, believe me I've spent hours dealing with the equalizer to correct the original source file which had bad quality sound. I need to thank UGerstl for his help last night when my project crashed because of a png file and he made it work! Without him I would work from start... So thank you man!

Bonus files:
Prelude with Sephiroth Cloud background and cast credits if you don't want the little pictures replacement like in the original modded prelude

Original modded file: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=8414.msg101495#msg101495

My setup (for those who don't understand how lgps work - read the "read me.txt"-): http://www.peejeshare.com/files/363238353/Sephiroth_Cloud_prelude.rar.html

and backup (RS link-slow)

Of course any suggestion or contribution or even if you want my adobe premier project files are available for public use by anyone asking me.

I think if you start the game with those videos and prelude screen will be the ultimate experience for some fans ;).

Always give credit to real artists! Thanks and keep internet free!!!

I use my own fmv that I renamed as sqlogo.avi. I renamed my sqlogo avi (which is apparently a non official ff video which i converted to use in the game) into eidoslogo.avi and I renamed sqlogo.avi into sqlogo_bkp.avi so the program will not be able to use it (yes I tried leaving it as a dummy video too). As I formerly reported when I press A button in my xbox controller it keeps skiping the video and goes straight to the loading screen (I use the background with Crisis Core Cloud). Either I'm doing something wrong nor there's no way to reach the prelude screen without watching the whole sqlogo or eidoslogo video. Thanks for replying but I'm still searching a way to solve this. Until then I'm preparing a new fmv for sqlogo and opening from crisis core ending mixed with the technical demo which I hope to release in your forum when it's finished. Thank you!

@Leonhart7413: You are totally right, when you make any input (keyboard, mouse,
xbox controller, ...) the movie ends and the prelude screen is not shown.
  • Start FF7
  • Show movie eidoslogo.avi    IF any input THEN GOTO loading screen
  • Show movie sqlogo.avi         IF any input THEN GOTO loading screen
  • Show prelude screen            IF any input THEN GOTO loading screen
  • loading screen

I wish there was a command line to skip video by video to the prelude screen. Thanks!
