I seem to be having some trouble with the game crashing when going to the world map, sometimes get past it but seems to be happening frequently after the Midgar Zolom scene. Hopefully someone will be able to provide an answer while I go through the forums searching for answer.

Thanks in advance!

hi im replaying ff7 after a couple of years. the previous time i played was also using mods and im glad they have progressed so far.

sadly im currently stuck in with problems as well.

i manage to get the game to run after removing menu overhaul and reinstalling.
but now my game cant progress past the first screen whenever i hit the menu button.

attached is my app.log

Seems as if the "[Gamefolder]\data\menu\menu_us.lgp" is broken.
An original is on the installation CD.

You could replace the modified FF7.exe with the originals by Square Enix
http://www.gamefront.com/files/2952477/Final-Fantasy-7-Retail-v1.02-Patch/
But you would lose some modifications or worse, the game does not work with it.
So renaming the FF7.exe before.

thanks mate but i managed to track the culprit down to DEP. simply turning it off will do. (a quick google search will teach you how). leaving this here for anyone else with the same issue to stumble upon. ive noticed quite a few guys out there with similar issue as me.

Hey, I'm trying to do some manual tweaking to the soundtrack beyond what the Bootleg mods do.  However, when I try to run AH on top of the installed Bootleg mod, the changes don't seem to take.  Specifically I'm using the crisis core fight further version as my test case to see if it's working.  Is there a special way to trade out music tracks after bootleg's been installed?  Or does it need to be done some other way?

Go to the folder where FF7Music gets the tracks from and you can just put the replacement in the folder without renaming it and tell FF7Music to play that one instead from the options.

Thanks for the reply - to clarify, when I run AH, it will create a music folder for the vanilla ff7 install, and then I will need to copy this folder to whatever location ff7 music draws from?

I'm going to assume you mean Anxious Hearts when you say AH. Are you using Anxious Hearts or FF7Music? You can't use both. IIRC Bootleg lets you choose.

I've installed the bootleg several times while futzing around with this, and it is possible I have both installed simultaneously at this point, which could be the cause of my problems if what you're saying is true.  I'll try wiping the FF7 directory and doing a clean install when I get home tonight.

Always uninstall, delete registry entries, and delete leftover files before reinstalling bootleg.

Quick question.

Just installed a bunch of mods and seems to be working great.

However, not a huge fan of the "New SoundFX" mod. Anyway to back that one out?

Edit: fixed my sound issue in FF7Config, I am dumb.

But, is there a recommended way to get an xbox controller configured to work with it? Using the num pad isn't... ideal, and I don't know much about any keymapping software. I tried installing Xpadder but it doesn't seem to work with pre-Windows 7.

Thanks!

It comes stock with controller support already. When starting the game, at the Eidos logo movie, press start on the controller. After that, load a game and configure from the config screen. IIRC controller mapping is the second column. Be sure to use the controller to skip the movie because if the controller is not the first thing pressed the game will not detect it.

There is none. You will need to start over with a fresh install.

Looking for some help. Everything was working fine when I installed yesterday. Now when I boot up the game I'm only getting the top left portion of the "screen" to show up. It looks like all of the display settings are what they used to be so I'm not sure what I did.

What is your game's resolution and what is your monitor's recommended resolution?

My computers current resolution is set at 1920x1080 (HDTV). Bootloader shows the Screen Resolution at Width 1920 by Height 1080. Internal Resolution is not checked but listed at 3840x2160
