Impossible ... I can not translate complete game with bootleg in Spanish (When using the Steam version and 2012 remastered version, original of course) ... ulgp.exe missing, missing Sprinkles.7z directory ... If I put this directory manually the program removed. Anyway, I managed tinkering here and there, leaving the texts of the game in Spanish, but the menus, and other texts battle continue in English ... While waiting for the new version that corrects the change of language from English and Spanish. Still, good job!

Hello,

1. Install FF7 into C:\Games\FF7
2. Create C:\Games\FF7Mods
3. Unzip Bootleg040 into C:\Games\FF7Mods\Bootleg040 directory
4. Once you custom your BFE, define your directory on Installation Window from BFE.exe
5. Make a mod list and check if the whole list is green and yellow only if not choose specifacly from Tifa patch DLPB gave. Once you done click on Run Bootleg. That exe will first check if u have the origin FF7 before start to backup you FF7 file.
6. Ignore Note bloc windows, just close it.
7. FF7Music dont forget to uncheck Run
8. Until now it s easy

No music:D

Thank you for helping me rule out the most common sources of problem right away. Open FF7Music, Configure, and check in the second tab if the plugins are defined. Browse and set them properly, then try again.

I am trying to install the Bootleg. I have the Steam version of FF 7. First I ran the game converter as advised. And then I run the bootleg configurator and start the bootleg installation. It runs to completion. It says its copying files. It finishes and says installation complete.  The only problem is after its finished my Steam directory does not seem to be modified in any way. And I can find no bootloader or anything to start the modded game. Anybody know what the problem is. Its supposed to be installing all these files in my Steam FF7 directory isn't it. There is no evidence that it did anything at all to the game. The exe in my steam directory is named ff7_en.exe, . It should be ff7.exe if the game has been modded right.

The problem was my virus/Firewall program had blocked all the bootleg installer  files from executing. I am not sure how that happened however as I turned it off. At least I thought I did.  The problem is solved however. I just set them all as trusted files.

The game appears to be working good after the bootleg install. I have  a question though. I originally installed it with normal difficulty. Now after playing a while I am finding the game to easy. Even the bosses are not much trouble. I wish to install the hardcore difficulty mod. Can you tell me how to do this in the already modded game.

The short answer is that you need to reinstall. Running Bootleg over an already-Bootlegged installation is not supported and can yield very strange and uncommon bugs.

Yikes. ..Uninstall everything and start from scratch. OK....Thank you. I guess it does not take that long actually since I still have all the mods on my HD.

I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I've selected the re-translation with original names and american spelling, but as far as I can tell, it's not taking effect in the game.

I even uninstalled everything and tried again, still nothing.

I manually installed the menu overhaul, no change.

I play up to the raised tail text in the guard scorpion battle to see if the re-translation has taken effect.

Can anyone help? I have the steam version, and I've done the conversion and all that stuff. I followed the install instructions.

Please post your installation location, operating system and the locations of Bootleg and the mods.

My install location is: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII\mods
My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate SP 1
Installed mods are in: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII\mods
Actual mods themselves and where I installed them from, as well as BFE and all that jazz: D:\Sharedstuff\FFVIIBootlegTifaMods
Which has BootlegCustomModels folder inside, a Tifa's Package [Bootleg040 Mods] folder inside, and all the BFE stuff without a folder. D is my drive for shared stuff and where I keep all my downloads, since D is four times as large as my C drive.

Everything else installs perfectly fine except for the retranslation, and I used quite a few mods. I'm stumped.

Your location is under FF7/mods? Don't you mean just FF7? As for the original mod location that seems fine from here. Without any further information I can't tell what's wrong. Please post the contents of your LastUsed.bp (found in the Bootleg folder) and bootleg.log (found in the FF7 folder) files.

The log looks fine. Try to select a different temp folder, such as D:/Temp or something like that. This is the only thing that comes to mind right now. Will take a deeper look at your settings a bit later.

Quick question if I may,

Once I install this, am I then able to use the bootleg configuration tool to change things without an issue. For example, if I get bored of Cloud's hair and want him to have tall hair later in the game, can the config tool be used to do this? Or will I have to reinstall completely, starting from a fresh game install?

You will have to do a fresh install. Reinstalling is not supported.

For some reason when I play on remastered difficulty all the bosses in the shinra building at the beginning of the game are swapped around.

EDIT: Switched to another difficulty for a while and switched back on the boat, and now all random battles are Jenova BIRTH!?

Yes , the game difficulty mod is bugged with 7th heaven. Just remove it from the list until it's fixed and you should be able to battle proper monsters.

Hello

This is a very impressive mod pack. However, I read that it is outdated, with many of the mods having progressed from the release of the torrent. How much am I missing out on?

Is there a way for me to then install the updated components separately after a bootleg installation? Or will an attempt to do so muck everything up?

Thanks.

I wouldn't really know myself.  Tried the new Reunion with this, it messed up my things quick because of the Driver used by this.   One thing i've wanted was to get the vincent ballerina fix and some Flevel fixes done so they weren't an issue.
