Title: Bombing Mission, first scene
Post by: faulked on 2017-04-14 20:28:44
Guess I'll be Team Avalanche until you guys get back to work!

Here's my progress on the first scene:

Would appreciate any advice, I'd like to improve it.

If someone wants to help me get it in FF7, I'd appreciate that too.  :D

Looks pretty amazing already, you could improve the lighting a bit and add some kind of ambient occlusion.

looks fine to me, exactly what I'd expect from HD/HQ upscaling. The problem will be that I doubt you have enough motivation to do all 700 :o

How do you get your images in game? Without the files. I wanna have a go at this

You need to use Palmer for that. See the stickied thread in this forum.  ;)

I guess he wants the files from you.  ;D

BTW. There are a few things you may change.
- The two added lamps on the left wall do emit light but they don't cast shadows. However, I would use a different less industrial model.
- The red signal should be smaller, maybe you add an area to it for a possible green sign as well.
- In the back of the scene is this tower like thing with this white pane. It doesn't glow. You can see it more detailed in the third scene.
- You have lowered the second level a bit. That's not a problem for the first scene but could be one for the second, because it has a walk mesh for both level.
- The ground under the train should be darker since the train does cover it from the most of the light.
- On the left side the metal fence before the gates needs to be recreated. It currently looks like a plane with a texture on it.

- Ambient occlusion and (optional) a subtle depth of field could give the image a more plastic look.
-I also would cover the scene with a very very very subtle volumetric green/cyan fog. Probably nobody will notice it but I have the feeling it will give a nice result

Anyway it's still very impressive to see the first scene in a true HD remake.

So I did fix the perspective (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qKGfKuU2AOMw_IQ5T_Wt1gX8LknC-rYQ).

But I haven't done more work on this because Jusette wants to complete mdstin. He's going to do a version that's in sync with the rest of his station fields so they're all consistent.
