If you get the font sorted, Kranmer may edit it for you.  You never know :)  If not I am sure someone here may...

I might do it but you'd be waiting a looong time.

yes you need to find the table, as I explained before.  Window.bin holds the table, but to test out you have to edit memory at run time.  Then save those changes in a file in window.bin.

offset 0099ddaf, that area in memory.

It is not as simple as just adding a letter to the font.  And no, I am not helping with it unfortunately.  I have too much to do.  Kranmer may help if you ask him but he may be too busy as well.  I have nothing to do with the non english game from now on :)

1. Tekken Tag.  I am a master at it.

2.  Soulblade

3. Mortal Kombat Trilogy

4. Street Fighter II

In order.  All have great music as well, especially 2-4.

This is the latest.  If you look at the progress report, you will see that the only things not done in battle are the action and help bar.  I am still not made up on the colour of MP / HP but other than that it is good to go.  Soon time to work on normal menu.

I am also gonna do a ff9 interface at the end, as I like its style.  Suits more to this imho, but both will be a choice.  Priority is getting whole project done first.

I have also corrected the NEW GAME / Continue screen.

And yes, I know transparency is not turned off after battle.  I will sort that soon.

What a disgusting thing to say :-( What does that have to do with the debate going on here? Weird...

Yeah some of you need to realise there are girls around here too, and people who don't want to hear things like that.  Have a little bit of respect :) eh ;)

I will post what we have tomorrow :)

edit.  I will post when I am ready.

I certainly won't clean it up personally... Don't have the time, and let's face it is not fully documented.  People will have to do it the hard way like us I guess 8)

General Discussion / Re: Final Fantasy VIII - opinions?

Griever would like a word or three.

I've played this game through several times and I've never really liked it. I understand the junction system and the drawing, but most of the time attacks took the form of GFs. Their long animations got real old after a while. I thought it was too easy to get to level 100 too. I wasn't crazy about the junction system either. Cast junctioned magic and your stats go down, draw and they go up. It felt pretty easily abuseable.

All of that is a problem with the implementation and not the system.  if we want to criticise 8 then we have to criticise 7 on the same basis.  Ridiculously easy and not implemented well at all.  The systems themselves are great and if you choose not to abuse their limitations, you will have more fun.

Beating omega weapon properly and collecting all cards and doing all side quests etc, is definitely not easy in 8

At least that issue was related to something different, but I think people are generally lazy that they can't look about.

These people probably tried to play MGS the same way that they played Duke Nukem and then complained that the alarms went off too often.

HAHAHAHAHAHA !  It is so true :P

a hex editor but you need to unzip it first.  Look for documentation.

People who disliked triple triad did not use their brain and realise how its more advanced features worked.  It was a mathematical game and a fun one.

Font width is manually altered on the font graphic.  Font spacing is altered in window.bin.

8743
Unfortunately it is all over the place....  WE do have documentation but a lot is all over.  I will ask kranmer what he says and if he is OK I will post our work.  I can't guarantee that it will answer all your questions, and you are better off learning proper hex editing and debugging as well.

heh true, it was already in a serious state of affairs but I never expected 1 playable character forced....

For once I agree with Kud.  XIII was a blatant dumbing down the likes of which I have never seen before.  IT basically took away 2 playable characters and relegated you to a small time manager with an auto option for the 3rd.

Everything was geared to graphics and very little else.  I can't understand what people find appealing or revolutionary about a system that takes away without adding anything.

Bosola's comment - Really sorry, I modified rather than quoted! The buttons are right next to each other! You might want to edit this back to its original content

nah it is OK, I do that all the time on my own forum.

Well I supplied my evidence, it was the dictionary stating multiple meanings for the word Gay.  You simply stated it wasn't true and because the word is outdated in that context, it is not allowed to be used as such in modern usage.

Which is, I am afraid, false. You can spin that any way you like... but you are wrong    Yet again though, I am arguing with you over something that is a blatant fact and just for the sake of you wanting an argument, so I will stop here and let you show us all the proof that gay no longer means what is quoted in my previous post, which was taken directly from the Oxford Dictionary.  Also show us proof that it can no longer be used as such... I would like to see "This can no longer be used" or words to that effect, if you can't find such evidence in the Oxford dictionary then you have to concede you are wrong.

You won't but oh well.

Well so we all know, that once again, you are right and the experts are wrong.  I'll have to throw my oxford dictionary out it seems, and get the one from kudford.

Well that is just my point.  It has been hijacked.  But the bottom line is, it can still mean what it did originally and is OK for use in that context.  If people have a problem with that they should make a new word up and use that for "to be a homosexual".

It still applies.  Words have multiple meanings.
