Lockups with Submarine

For some reason my comp keeps locking up whenever I try to drive the submarine on disc 2.  The music keeps playing, but the game stops running.
I've got a GeForce 4 card running under XP.  Any helpful suggestions are appreciated.

Got exactly the same problem , even after installing the FFVII XP Patch , what can I do to make the game work :evil:
