hay guys

some of you guys know that i been working on this for some time

the new patch i been working on well use the all the models that are in the NPC RP patch v0.6

and i got clouds limits to work and what to show you

as you can see there the model gets all messed up but that cant be helped the animation was not made for him

i was thinking about giving him Vincent limit working on that now sorry no download right now

why

well the 1st i was using The SaiNt Higher Resolution patched ff7.exe and i know that not all of you can use that and 2nd i messed around with the ff7.exe some limits got delete so I'm going back to a clean ff7.exe v1.02

all the models have been change around in the field and battle

now here where you guys come in do you want use clouds limits like they are now i got them to work or use Vincent beasts limit that wont look buggy

well post the new patch it a day or 2 i what some info on what you think about clouds or vincents limit

Personally I'd prefer clouds limits.
Turning into a giant uncontrollable monster isn't that a master swordsman should do.

Maybe some of Cids Limits could work? (the ones where he stabs them with his spear)

Just a thought.

I have no idea if mixing and matching limits is possible. If so, like knives said, maybe throw in a few Cid limits. You can't even see Cid on his jump limits, so it wouldn't matter, just so long as Sephiroth gets airborne.

But I dunno about using Vincent's limits. I'd rather have goofy looking limits than to use Vincent's simply because Vincent's limits seem like only he could be able to use them.

Maybe I'm taking too much of a storyline glance at this. Use whatever works; however, if you need a definite set of limits of just one character, I think it'd be fine to use Cloud's.

cos the numbers are to big for me with the more upto date one


looks good Ice Cold. I think Cloud's limits are better personally. Why not do one for Cloud's limits and one for Vincents limits. Will there be a way for Sephiroth to equip Masamune fully?

I'm going to use just clouds limits for now
As for Sephiroth im going to make some new swords and the give him the nail bat too

I was thinking final heaven could be good.

Becuase all she does is stick out her first (could hold a masamune) and chanrge through the enemy.

Also, maybe somersault could be used.
Sephiroth does seem agile.

lol that what i was thinking but dont work cos he got 3 sets of long hair and tifa got one

it a bit more then the hair standing up when his hp gets to the yellow he lies on the floor like he dead and when he dies he stands there if only i could edit the animation abit just to fix there anyway the moded ff7.exe is done got some last test then put out a beta to see what you guys think

will test tifa last limit i have never seen it so never knew she just stick out her first might work

So Sephiroth will have a new set of weapons?

What will his ultimate weapon be like since his Masamune has a gun icon for it?

By the way it looks like your one hell of a programmer. Thanks so much dude for your hard work on the NPC Reconstruction and the new Sephiorth Mod/Patch.

No prob.  Figure someone has to keep those n00bs inline.  Most of them hear about these patches from toehr websites which host these thigns, yet give little or no credit to the people here, which results in lots of stupidity abound.

And while I'd hate to see craploads of noobs and little kids swarming this place, I'd rather they get their info from here instead of asking on gamefags.

Back on topic. I was thinking we could a Limit set up like this.

Level 1: Braver, boost jump

Level 2: Climmhazard, Big brawl (cid's level 3-2)

Level 3: Metoerain, Doom of the living (yuffie level 3-2)

Level 4 Omnislash

If this setup is possible, I think it would be the best.

well im still ironing out the bugs it was only till last night that the big 1 was killed thanks to Borde
there is 1 more bug to get and i and put out a beta

i dont know about it working with the zack mod if the zack mod dont replace cloud then maybe you have to just test it

a boost it stats humm that a maybe too im just working on fixing this 1 bug

Hay ppl i got that bug and run in to one but this 1 is with Cosmo 95c the Search/Replace seems buggy when putting sephiroth  to cloud the names when ok but when i when to do the text it crashes in game so i got to do them 1 by 1

well it time i think that i put a download here it a BETA so post if any come up plz use the instructions

there is a file checker when running the patch cos it a BETA and if you have not followed the 1st thing it says in instructions i wont help you

the next update the file size will be smaller cos i will redo the midi's from in the exe

Installation

1) Make sure char.lgp, menu_us.lgp, world_us.lgp, chocobo.lgp, ff7.exe is v1.02 and that the
MIDI's in the midi folder are the unaltered ones.
(You can get ff7.exe v1.02 from http://www.ff7-universe.com As for the lgp files you can get them from FF7 Install cd)

2) Extract all the files in char.lgp with Ficedula's lgptools to ...\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\data\field\char\

3) Run The Sephiroth Patch.exe

4) Create a new char.lgp useing lgptools and delete the char folder.

5) go into C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\data\battle and open file name battle.lgp

6) Open the folder that come with the patcher and drag the file in there into the battle.lgp
if it ask to something say yes then close and test the game

FF7 models in the game are Anime looking what is what i like in games

if there a better pic out there that looks like FF7 one i will think about using it

humm see the thing is if it was a clean char you Extracted there wouldn't be a aaae2.p file in there and it would put its 1 in there
maybe you keeped the old char folder and Extracted a clean char.lgp into the old folder from what you lefted from the Npc patch

delete your char folder make a new 1 and try if not then we will have a one on one chat to get this done for you

nice patch....but i seem to have some problem after i installed it.....my sephy is the hi-res model but all the other characters seem to be lego models....please pardon my english.Is it just me or does somebody else has this problem as well?

I think that is the idea of the patch.
I was going to test with the NPC patch and this one and see if I could somehow use both of them.

no...it's not some...except for sephy,the others are lego blocks.Those who already have hi-res textures in the previous patch like barret and aeris are all lego blocks.So is jessie,wedge and the other guy.Actually,from where i am in the game,all are lego blocks except sephy.I hope this is detailed enough.

Hello everyone !!!!

hum...i have again another problem......pfff
Here :

First, I do not have a problem on the first part of the installation. Séphiroth apared in the Background.
Then, the second part of the instalation. Who consists has to replace Cloud by Séphiroth in the battle.
At this moment, I cannot what make with the folder battle.lgp. If someone could explain me the step has to make with battle.lpg, would be really cool.
Because in the tuorial provided with the patch, i dont understand :"Open the folder that come with the patcher and drag the file in there into the battle.lgp"

ok
Really simple.

Download LGP tools off ficedula's website.

open that and choose open .lgp.

Extract all the files to the designated location.

Run the sephy patch.

once it's finished you must not forget this stept.

open up LGP tools again and select create LGP.

save it where the old lgp is and name it the same thing be sure to include .lgp at the end.

Sorry but......grrrrrr.....again..............another  :-( problem.
It's my last question  :-D

I made the procedure which you said with char.lpg and all functions correctly, I control Sephiroth in the background, here no prblem.

But after I made again the same procedure, but with the folder battle.lgp.
I take the original battle.lgp, I extract all the file in a folder (but which folder?), and I run the patch for battle.lgp, I create a new battle.lgp and at the end I replace
the original battle.lgp by the new, but....no change, Cloud is always in battle. Maybe it's not a good folder were I extract battle.lpg.....

sorry.......for that. And thanks for your answer !!!!

i will put a updated beta when i redo the midi's so later today

open your battle.lgp

open your folder name Limit to work   

click the file that in the folder and drop it in the open battle.lgp

then say yes and close

test the a battle

1. The patch only changes Sephiroth's and Clouds model.  You have to take them out and put them in a file already altered by NPC patch.
2. It's suppose to change.

okay my problem is resolv , but the "old" sephy patch is not compatible with the graphic patch . I must choose between playing with sephiroth with lego graphism or playing in beautiful graphisme without sephiroth ...

Just give him Cloud's limits if you can get them to work, everything else fucks up, you could try hyper jump though which could look like the throttling he gives Aeris.

OK so after playing for awile there are some notes
1. first if you use "limits to work" from the new version of Sephiroth Patch and use the limit my game sometimes crashed and some times not, when i used the older "limits to work" from the previos version everything seems fine, no crashes.
2. After using Textpatch.exe the music begins to act strangly: it ceeps playing oooon and ooon, for example after you win the battle the "fanfare" ceeps playing after the battle on the feild...WTF!?
3.I don t know if it is intended but in battle if Sephiroth is dead(HP red) he stands with his hand up and if he is wounded (HP green) he lies on the floor, shoudn't it be vise versa?BTW if you have cover materia on him he "covers" by laying on the floor...
4. Sometimes the text begins to lose lattres as in dialogs as well as in menu... some thing like I em Ma r a which means Item Materia...But if you reload the game everuthing is fine
5. And lasty some times the picture on the screen is gettin' screwed up, then the game crashes, but it happens rarely

I dont know if i am the only one who gets these problems but i can live with that (exept for the Text patch.exe glitch so i just have to use my imagination  :-) :-D )
BIG thanks to  ice_cold513 for this patch once again, it is just as interesting as playing for the first time  :-)

Yeah, I was getting worried no one got this error. Some of the text are kinda screwed up in the game, just as sword mentioned.
But overall it was a great patch !!
@Alucard: Can you upload the previous "limit to work" ?
(I don't wanna spend time downloading 11 mb just to get that ^^).

1. Yes download it from www.ficedula.co.uk
Make a new empty folder at
whateverdrive\Program Files\Square soft Inc,\Final Fantasy VII\data\field, name it char. Run LGP tool, open char.lgp. Click Extract all. Extract it to the char folder.
Now download NPC RC v6.0 from the "NPC Reconstruction project" topic. After finished downloading, run NPC v6. The default path should be like C:\Program Files\Square soft Inc,\Final Fantasy VII\data .Start patching.
*If you want to use sephiroth patch, apply it after patching the NPC RC v6.0
Then open the LGP tool again, click Create, ignore the warning message, click ok. Select the char folder and save it anywhere you want (except for the field folder).

Now replace the char.lgp at field folder with the new one.

I have a problem with the patch I don't have sephy for battles...during the battles , I have cloud.  Sephy is only here to walk and talk .
I have try to create a new battle.lpg with ficedula including "saab" of "limit to work" , but nothing better , I have only sephy during the battles (I suppose battle.lpg and the problem are not link ,if battle.lpg is only here for limit break)

Sorry if most of you disagree with this but I think the NPC Reconstruction Patch is just a little more important. I'm sorry but I'm kinda against the whole Swapping Sephiroth and Cloud thing (unless the final version completely changes the story...a story just for Sephiroth durring his early life, durring the Shinra VS Wutai War and what was going through Sephiroth's mind durring the Nibelheim incident where the story ends, the final boss representing his insanity in the form of himself, a battle impossible to win...as a cutscene dramatic like Cloud VS Sephiroth....though this would require an extensive amount of Coding, something nor really possible to complete anytime soon).

To me, this patch kinda harms the story of Final Fantasy VII! the NPC Reconstruction patch, on the other hand, does nothing to the story and updates the game to make it look better, replacing the low poly block characters with higher poly characters to match the Battle characters and the FF7's engine can handle much higher poly models, maybe even close to Advent Children quality!

My stand is that maybe the focus should be on the NPC Recontruction Patch, then get back to this Sephiroth Patch when NPC V1.0 is completed and released (all models done) as:
1. it seems that the NPC Patch is meant to go with the Sephiroth Patch
2. The NPC Patch seems to be near completion anyway and less headaches to complete
3. A true FF7 fan would find the Sephiroth Patch kinda insulting...even though the ideea of being Sephiroth is pretty cool.

Sorry ice_cold513 but I guess overall, I believe that the NPC Patch be complete before the Sephiroth Patch for I fear the NPC Patch won't be completed if you continue the Sephiroth Patch...though the choice is yours...

Hi everybody, I'm new here.
I've some questions/suggestions about Sephiroth skills.
Do you think it could be possible, technically, to put him the attacks of Savior/Safer Sephiroth (Pale horse, Heartless Angel, Supernova, Wing attack,...) ?
If it could, I suggest to use some of them, like Supernova, as limit breaks or as Enemy Skill materia attacks.
And also, could it be possible to create a special sword, with specials stats, just for him (Masamune) instead of making him use Cloud's weapons?
If so, I think it would be great to have in game.

PS: Thanks to the author of this patch, your job just realize of one of my dream :wink:

Well for the weapons I think that's not too hard to do (well I only know how to do the models of the weapon... I don't know how to do the stats... but I think it's possible)... but I don't think that the abilities can be chaged without messing a lot with the ff7.exe code...

I suggest you read what Stormmedia said again this time slowly.  Sephiroth is a special character and that is the problem.  He's scripted etc, seperately.  His model is just being switched with another characters EVEN when he appears in the game (This is how Young Cloud can fight in his group in the various encounters in flash backs). His sword (equiped or otherwise) also exists because of this as a legal weapon, but only he can use it.  This means a LOT of messing with the game engine code itself.  His weapon DOES exist however and it is possible to equipe it if the character is truely Sephiroth, again the problem with this is the game will unequipe it because you are substituting one character for Sephiroth.  The only way to do this I can think of off my head is swap the models for Vincent, and even then you cannot use Sephiroth's enemy abilities because those are attached to an enemy.  The game engine itself prevents this.

Hey, just thought I'd ask a question, would it be at all possible to put the High Res Sephiroth (from the final battle) in this game? I know it wouldn't be easy but take a look, he has a damage animation when he gets owned with Omnislash so that means He'd work perfectly except maybe casting magic and items. Just a thought.

EG, a triple bladed masamune, a "crisis core"ish sword for sephiroth, (kept a backup of the normal length one for zack mods) and a darth maul double blade masamune.
I'm guessing I'm the weapons guy.  :-D

The weapons look good, except for the doublebladed lightsaber one..
Just give him different looking katanas and maybe a wakizashi and it'll be fine. And Masamune as his ultimate weapon.

 The "darth maul" one has two choices, coloured and not coloured. I'm making that choice available.
I'm working on 2 sets of weapons; custom made ones, (like Andrew marshes weapons) and with already existing FF7PC technology. (I put some detail on the souba, since I re-watched AC and noticed Kadaj's had some yellow on it.)
and yes ansem, I will be making a Excalibur as well as a odin sword. (the triple one you can't see between the blades all to well, I'll increase the distance)
I was making the FF7 technology one first since I wanted a update available for the public sooner. I'll put up some screens of the "helix blade" with the next batch of weapons.
so It's, the Zanzetsuken, Excalibur, Wakizashi? We need 16 weapons in total, I don't care how many are the masamune, just what is what and what variations of the katana we can come up with.

Ice_cold513, it is hard to come up with 14 variations of only katanas and other Chinese/Japanese swords. (assuming the default weapon is the original masamune and a increased graphics masamune for the ultima weapon.
I was looking around the "so, weapons anyone?" thread to see what people wanted, and that made the birth of the darth maul one as well as a not finished crisis core one. (I rushed it, and I'll make it as a working FF7 sword custom model.)

okay, I thought I'd give the public a update on what's happening in the project;
I have made 9 out of the 13 weapons, (I'll go over them as the mod progress) dark_ansem is changing the text to match what cloud and sephiroth would say, Ice_cold513 is (hopefully) going to convert KH2 sephiroth into FF7, as well as making hi hi res cloud, (which may or may not be Kh1 cloud, we don't know yet. it depends on our ability to skin and create custom models.) so the mod is nearing more complete completion

I really need your help.... I cant get your sephiroth patch to work exactly. He works "In towns, In wars" but NOT in the worldmap. Why? I really need help! Btw, its not an picture of sephiroth when im going to "start New Game or Continue". So, please, can you help me? I dont understand how to "extract" the files. It always says "invaild filename" when im going to extract the files. I hope you understand me, and I really want this patch to work and I need your help. As of today, Sephiroth patch now supports
The SaiNt Higher Resolution patch

I have made the a new-way to install mod's, it won't mess with the standard FF7 game, it will be all in 1 folder too.

Q)   Why did i make it all 1 folder?

A)   Well, to save people time if they get bored, of the Sephiroth patch. They don't need to reinstall the game.

Q)    How did you get it all in one folder and working?

A)    hard work

EDIT: Ice_cold513 is just adding some description, and adding them to the patcher now, then, it's done for now.

I quite like the take on the CC sword to be honest, but that did take quite a bit of work to make it work.

Me & Malach! are running some test's, lucky we did cos there are some big bug's.

Will be testing all the sword's later.

Then the limit's, no new one's right now.

This patch release will be v0.9

Would it be possible if you could create a patch that is not automatic, what I mean is you manually overwrite the files in LGP tools or have a version of the patch that doesn't check the file version (so it just overwrites the file no matter what), As I am having trouble installing it even with  fresh install of ff7. This could also help a lot of other people.

My error is in char.lgp when i try to run the patcher it says aaaa.hrc unknown version. But it fresh install with 1.02 patch. So I have no idea what it is.

2Nd it won't matter if you got v1.00 or v1.02 installed, what will if you got v1.4

(the CC/MS sword didn't work for a lot of people, so i had to redo it several times :-(, but this is before i changed the hilt to the MS hilt, but i'm not about to get a more recent one for you. :evil:)

I got the patch working... But, When sephiroth gives cloud the black materia a bit after that it crashes. It also crashes in a different save just after sephiroth picks up aeris body after the jenova battle it crashes there too.
Is there a way to fix this?

You got to note that the download on here, is for the beta.
V0.9 is still in the close testing stage, me malach! & some people we picked are testing it.

squeeble the sephiroth in the picture, is not the one in the patch just the Sword.

Long time viewer, first time poster.

Anyway, I don't know if you've added it, but as of the patch on the OP, this has not been added.

If you use Cosmo you can switch the sound the swords make.  From what I tested, 17 is the generic sound that Cloud's sword makes and either 338 or 373 is Sephiroth's sound.  I'm leaning towards 373, but I haven't heard his slash in a while.  It might change a bunch of other attack sounds in the game, but I though it was neat.

Sorry its me again   i have another problem.... when i begin my new game (with the NPC reconstruction patch and this sephiroth patch) to the point when the "Bombig Mission" is supposed to end,  it continue and when i have a battle the "Bombing Mission" dont stop but when i win the battle the fanfare begin but it does bot stop.....

ps: FF7Music is NOT installed  at that time

I have a problem with the 1st part of the installation of the Sephiroth Patch Beta:
when I run Sephiroth Patch.exe and choose the FF7 directory, the program says chocobo.lgp is an unknown version.

I have original FF7, not ultimate version or what it's called.
I also tried to reinstall and tried to copy directly chocobo.lgp from the install cd, but didn't work.
I installed the game, sobstituted ff7.exe and ff7config.exe with the v1.02 versions, and applied the NPC Recontruction Patch v0.6

Any idea how to solve this?

EDIT: Solved... NPC Recontruction Patch simply skipped chocobo.lgp and world_us.lgp
Dunno why... ^_^

This mod doesn't work with High Resolution Patch, does it? Playing 640x480 is damn lame :P
Well, I'll backup ff7.exe and give a try anyway.

Good work on this mod! I can't wait for the complete version!

Sorry for W-Post, but this is about a different thing.

Are the changes on ff7.exe necessary for this Sephiroth Patch? If those could be avoided, then the High Resolution Patch would probably work.
Playing 640x480, even with antialiasing 8x, is quite depressing... Sephiroth in hr would be much cooler!  :lol:

and a mod folder so that it will all run without editing you ff7 game

I've registered for a bit of help...

I downloaded the Sephiroth patch, and the NPC reconstruction thing, and installed them in the correct order etc,
and Sephy shows up in the field (walking around and talking to people) but not in battle... :? In battle Cloud shows up


Do you guys know what I've missed out/done wrong? I've tried re-installing everything twice, and followed the instructions carefully but he still won't show up  :-(

I'm sorry for the n00b-ish question, I've probably overlooked something obvious... you guys have done a great job with this patch, its been amazing so far :D

I've seen this question posted a few times before but nobody answered, so if you get the time to reply I'd be really grateful :D

Have you used the 1.02 patch from Edios?

If not, that's the probelm. The patch updates FF7.exe in order to get the battle model updated.

Hi there....

I'm a hard die fan of Sephiroth. Even when I'm plying FF7 in PC, I never use Cloud as main character. Using some Sephiroth patch with little modification, I manage to make a true sephiroth field character by replacing Cloud.

Recently I found a codes in kernel.bin file which enable any characters can equip masamune sword. Right now, I'm still searching a codes in the kernel.bin file that make Sephiroth invincible in battle (no damage induced by any attacks). Does anyone know which codes can make Sephiroth become invincible in battle?

I'm afraid I can't help you... the only thing I could suggest is the YAMP patch by dziugo (makes limit breaks go over 9999) to power up his attacks.

btw how did you get your Sephy to work in battle? Mine shows up as Cloud still  :?

Actually, it is still cloud. But I made some changes to the character movement meaning that I had change all Cloud's movements with Sephiroth's movements. As for the results, the Sephiroth's (Cloud) attributes look like real Sephiroth. Still, I wonder why the real Sephiroth in battle cannot be damaged by any attacks from all monsters?

Nope, I tried instaling them after I re-installed the game- but I've given up now and I'm using scorpicus's patch instead, but thanks for helping anyway  :-D

i tried many times to install this patch and in the latest attempt, i achieved to get almost everything set up right.  I was able to do everything all right however i could not make an char.lgp file with ficedula's lgp tools.  Everytime i tried to start a game, a message would pop up "acfe.aki" sumthin.  i heard sumwhere that there was a fix needed and i found the link; however, the file is not there anymore.  i used "highwind" program but i was unable to do so there.  my latest attempt managed me to have sephiroth on the map...in battle...but not in towns or villages....or should i say...all of himself.  when i went into a town...pieces of him were misssing..such as his hair...his cloak...his feet..and sumother parts.  when i tried leaving the town and back into the map, the ff7.exe stopped working.  however his partial appearnce in towns and villages was only made possible by instead of making a lgp file with the new files i dragged all files from the "char" folder into the existing, unmodified char.lgp.  only then could i get sephiroth...ish in the town...before that and trying to make a new lgp file, the game would crash as soon as i would start a game or enter a town.  this problem may be due to me using vista.  if ne one can please help me i would appreciate it.  i would also like to make a suggestion and host the sephiroth patch with the files it modiefies (char.lgp, battle.lgp, wold_us etc.) already modifed...that way anyone can just download the modified files and drag them into the ff7 directory witout any problems in installing them themselves..thanks

i hope this isn't a dead forum now.

Sephiroth has always been my hero, evil or not he has some serious skills, not to mention he is just awesome, if ice has stopped work on this, i would like to request that i would be able to continue this mainly because i too love the idea of switching roles, i been working on changing clouds models in game to something more evil. ( something lie advent children or maybe kh 1) to give him a more evil appearance so that he not walking around in the blue wanna-be soldier outfit.  But i wont post anything if i don't have the concent of ice and a few others who have been working on this because that wouldn't be right.  So if you could all give me a pm or something telling me that its fine with you i would like to continue this. 

I have tried every patch and seen things i liked in alot of them but i want to make the story a little more ;P.  If I'm given concent then maybe ppl who are still intrested in working on this can work with me, also i saw a post looking for ppl to make some models for the phoenix project and i requested to join that as well, i been around computers since about 5 years old. I also when to school for computer software support specialist so please i would love to hear from you all and see if i can be of some assistance.

I don't know what the heck I'm doing wrong. I have done a clean install 4x and I keep getting this ff7.exe is uncompatible and chocobo.lgp error. I have not edited anything with these files besides upgrading it to Version 1.02 and installing the chocobo patch :( I am about ready to lose it :?

Hey if your still posting here I just wanted to ask a question

Im sort of confused about the instructions you set which was given in the Sephiroth patch installer, At one point you say this:
 
3) Run NPC RP v0.6.exe
4) Run The Sephiroth Patch.exe
 
When you say "RUN" do you mean just keep clicking next in the sephiroth patch exe? Im not sure what im supposed to do. One more thing iv'e never come across the Lgptools program so iv'e got absolutely no experience with that program, could you explain to me how I Create a new char.lgp useing lgptools and delete the char folder. That was also a step in the instructions doc.
This must make me sound like an idiot, but I dont have the my ff7 yet, but my friend is getting it for me, i'd just like to know before-hand. Thanks. ^_^

When i go to install the Sephiroth patch it keeps saying

This program cannot update the installed version of because of the following reason:

C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\fft.exe: unknown version.

And i've even installed the npc rc patch a few times and after the game starts and the train stops the screen goes black but when i open the menu then close it everything works fine but none of the graphics appear any different than before. I'm pretty sure i've installed the patch right.

not exactly sure what i'm supposed to do now to get the patch to work, if anyone has any suggestions i'd be more than happy to try them. Thank you.

If you've pirated the game, Thats probably why, and remember that this forum doesnt support "FF7 Ultima edition" or any other pirated version. however, im sure this isnt teh case, and if it isnt, i would reccomend renaming "fft.exe" to "ff7.exe"
if this doesnt solve the problem, try downloading the Latest, patached version of the exe as well as the config program located on the wiki, im sure.

Excuse me, I was wondering are the sounds supposed to be buggy? I was going through the higher floors of the shinra building on disc one and instead of the sort of evil dread theme you get playing when Jenova breaks out (I know because I have this on PS1 as well as PC) it starts playing the chocobo theme, also during the boss fight on the elevator it plays no music but the victory fanfare keeps playing all through Rufus's battle and then only when you step back into the President's office afterwards does the boss theme begin playing.

I'm kind of new to using it on PC since I got it because my friends showed me the kinds of mods you can get for it such as this one and I don't know if I've done anything wrong I just followed the instructions. =/

Love the mod btw apart from the sound mix ups.

EDIT: Also the game crashes when you go down to the underground basement of the Shinra mansion during Cloud/Sephiroth's past and also the dialogue switches Sephiroth's replacement cloud's name quite alot between Sephiroth and Cloud.

ok ppl, im literally right about to pull my head off, i need some truly in-depth instructions. I'm trying to install that seph patch (needless to say, ive been wanting to play as sephy for years like everyone and their g-ma), BUUUUTT Everytime I enstall the NPC RP patch, i always get this EXACT same error: ACFE.AKI CANNOT BE READ and I noticed two people have stated this issue with NO ONE posting up how to fix this. And before you tell me to uninstall and everything else, i should let you know that i have been trying to do this for 3 SOLID DAYS. if ANYONE can help solve this stupid error PLEASE for the love of God, help me with it. I'm practically begging!!

i did but it came up with only one legit site that explained how to use lgp file fixers, but thats not the problem...the problem is when you nake your new char.lgp as the original, the error message occurs, but when i switched the char names back, it worked fine, minus the graphics change

And i am PRETTY sure im doing something wrong while doing the first extracting and creating with the tool thingy (im terrible with remembering names of stuff) and thats why i need a completely detailed, laid-out instruction for retards on how to do it,  :-(

First off, much thanks to ice cold and all, the NPC patches and this sephiroth patch are amazing stuff!

It looks like this has taken a back seat because ice cold is busy with the NPC patch, which is cool, but I had a couple things to add.

First, for what it's worth, I am using this sephiroth patch with the high res patch and it appears to be working fine.  It isn't super simple though as it stands.  In case others are curious how:  I installed ff7 full, updated to v1.02, installed high res patch, installed YAMP, installed high quality cloud mod, installed NPC RP.  Then I reverted to 1.02 ff7.exe in order to install ice cold's sephiroth patch.  Then I used a binary diff tool to see all the changes the sephiroth patch made to the ff7.exe and made the same changes to the fully modified ff7.exe -- there aren't too many changes to make.  It appears to be working fine.

So in the end it is possible though not easy.


Second, I managed to fix some of sephiroth's missing animations, using a hex editor, this handy guide: http://wiki.qhimm.com/FF7/Battle/Battle_Animation_(PC) (http://wiki.qhimm.com/FF7/Battle/Battle_Animation_(PC)), and Kimera to verify.  If/when Kimera is updated to be able to copy an entire animation into an empty or filled animation slot, it will be much easier.  As it is though, I now have an sada file that fixes the following animations:

1. wounded - I copied over anim0, normal battle stance so he just stands upright as normal (sephy's too strong to show he's wounded :-))
6. death - I removed the existing animation (which was the casting animation for some reason...) so now he looks like he's on the ground (same thing as wounded animation in the normal patch).  It doesn't look quite right but at least he's on the ground.
8. cover - stole a frame from the miss animation to make quite a nice cover animation.  The position isn't quite right though since the original was designed for him to be standing in his normal spot, not in front of someone -- but it still works well.
15. get hit - copied the animation from when an enemy misses seph (he no longer looks invincible like he does with the normal patch)

I think those are all the low hanging fruit.  Beyond that it will require actually editing the animations and creating new ones.  The two main ones I wanted to fix but wasn't able to were slash-all and use item.

Ok, I guess I can put the sada file on the same server I put the screenshots on, after work tonight -- I'm not really sure what the rules are regarding distributing modified game files like that, but seems like it should be ok.

I think I'll post more details about how I did it on the Kimera thread in case it helps there.

Hmmm I have been experiencing a problem with the Sephiroth Patch, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight?
I load up the game, and everything runs smooth. Sephiroth jumps off the train... The fight with the two guards is flawless. Even when he's hit he appears to get injured. I run into the next scene with Jessie, Biggs, and the other guy. Barret comes in... Name yourself, and him...
Then comes the next area... Sephiroth looks up and slowly runs into the next scene. The camera seems to be stuck right at the beginning of the next scene, and possibly the character too. The music is still playing, and I can go into my inventory and edit things, but I can't get the red/green arrows to show up on my screen, and the screen is just angled looking at some pipes. It never scrolls down to where Sephy should be standing...

Anyone else experience this? Or know how to fix it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

P.S. I've tried reinstalling in twice now? So I'm not sure if that route will work? Maybe there is a newer version of the patch I'm missing or something?

Hello!

I surfed round looking for good FF7 Mods and finally got to this mod..it sounds great!

I downloaded it, installed and everything seemed fine.The game starts and i get to the menu and when i go "NEW GAME" I receive the error message:"Fail to load ACFE.aki"...and that it was  :| i reinstalled all of this like 10 times  :-o >:( and tried mostly every setting...someone here knows how to solve it?

Wow necro much? 2006 four years old, This might sound harsh but maybe your Final Fantasy game wouldn't crash so much had you actually read how to install the game properly. Reading is fun try starting with the rules of the forum first then ask for help.
