here is my real resolution 1440x900 the pic is also larger because of the resolution...

but the game itself forces it to play 640x480, i've tried saint patch first but, it automatically closes ff7 and i don't know why....

i've tested it with other computers and it work

The saint's patch doesn't work because your laptop's screen probably doesn't support 1280x960 or 1280x1024 or whatever the size is.

Aali's driver should work fine assuming everything's been configured properly. I feel like you have to be skipping a step or something for Aali's driver to just plain not work.

1) make sure you're using a standard ff7.exe 1.02 without the saint's patch applied and *not* Ultima Edition
2) download Aali's driver files (2 .reg files, 1 .cfg file, 1 .fgd file, the "shaders" folder, and the "textures" folder) and put them in the "Final Fantasy VII" folder
3) run ff7opengl.reg (or ff7opengl_vista64.reg if you've got a 64-bit OS)
4) configure ff7_opengl.cfg as desired (don't forget to save)
5) do not run ff7config or you'll have to redo step 2
6) run the game

or from the remix patch...

1) install the remix patch
2) configure the ff7_opengl.cfg file (this can be done from the start menu, or at the time of install)
3) [shouldn't be necessary] run ff7opengl.reg either directly or by running and closing ff7config from the start menu (a prompt should appear)

it looks like you and I have similar laptops with similar graphics cards/drivers, so I have no clue why it wouldn't work.

well my laptop max resolution is 1440x900

so it should work with the saints? right?

or maybe no?

hmmmmm.. i'll try to reinstall again with a fresh install, and i am 100% sure now that i am using the original version of the game

let's see what will happen if i do this again

EDITED

i can't see all of the log. copy and paste it into a post using the <code> tags.

Might wanna also post your ff7opengl.cfg file and a screenshot of what your "Final Fantasy VII" folder looks like.

A) turn the "linear filter" option off
B) turn fullscreen off for the time being so that we know for sure if it's working based on whether or not it runs windowed
C) I'm pretty sure that the registry key isn't going through after looking at your app.log. It's not even loading the custom driver! Are you running windows Vista? You might have to turn off User Account Control (in the control panel under "Users") before it'll let you apply the registry key. Either do that or right click the .reg file and click "Run As Administrator", that seems to work for some people....

try turning the "linear filter" option off...that's the only thing I can think of so far...

It's not apparent in the screenshots that the game is running at 640x480... does the "fullscreen = false" option work?

nope, not working dude it always runs at 640x480

oppppppppssssss!

and one more thing

when i run ff7.exe it goes black screen and then a error message pops out you know
the "send-don't send" to microsoft error pop out

but whenever i run it from ff7 music config. th game forces it to 640x480

I edited the post above.... do you have windows vista? User Account Control might be what's screwing you over...

If none of what i said above works, try this...

1) Click the start button, hit "Run..." (or you can press winlogo+R) to bring up the run dialogue
2) Type regedit and hit enter, the Windows Registry Editor should open up
3) Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Square Soft, Inc.\Final Fantasy VII\1.00\Graphics"
4) Modify the "DriverPath" key to read "ff7_opengl.fgd"
5) Modify to the "Driver" key to be dword:00000003 (all you have to type is 3)
6) Modify the "Mode" key to be dword:00000002 (" " 2)
7) Close the editor
Then run FF7 via your start menu icon

if that doesn't work, I can't think of anything that will, and if those values are already set, then I know for sure that this problem is caused by some kind of bug in your graphics card or in your graphics card driver.

when i run ff7.exe it goes black screen and then a error message pops out you know
the "send-don't send" to microsoft error pop out
That's good, that's what it's supposed to do when you haven't applied the registry key, that makes me more certain that doing the steps above will fix it!
