Title: [FF8PC-Steam] KLITLIKA'S EPIC MOD - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - V26 NEW!!

ENEMIES including BOSSES now HARDER, BETTER, FASTER, STRONGER...

ENJOY MANY NEW ENEMY COMBINATIONS :) + Special LVL 100 Escapable Boss Battles in Disc4 (DARK AEON) STYLE DISC 4 Random Battles...
(slowly adding more)

ENEMY ATTACKS (some changed)+ STATS + MOVESLISTS HAVE NOW BEEN BUFFED TO BE LESS PATHETIC... :) Omega / Ultima need Testing...

it should be known that FF8 has a limit of 4 different random battles on field maps...
so if you are testing out all the fights, you gotta try to fight all 4 BattleScenes in one room/area/map before moving on... hence why reporting any bugs/crashes with a screen-shot if you can + location in-game helps allot...

few examples:
most attack powers adjusted... Certain enemy attacks now have extra negative status effects + but some can also cause aura/regen... etc...
GF Power Adjusted... Status Effects Added to some... :)
eg: Leviathan has about 16 % chance to wash away an enemy... don't want the to spoil the surprises, but I've tried to be logical about what i adjusted throughout...

CERBERUS REDESIGNED
Using Cerberus with the FF8_Hard_Launcher was previously pointless since he casts Double + Triple on the party... with this mod, he now also Casts Haste + Angel Wing - MAGICAL BERSERK ON THE WHOLE PARTY... USE Cerberus's new power Wisely...JUST LIKE "MAD RUSH" Except MAGIC not Physical Attacks :) ps: they cast using their stocked magic[/b]

I'VE SLOWED THE ATB TO 80% OF IT'S ORIGINAL SPEED... THIS WORKS WELL...
UNLOCKED DMG OVER 9999 FOR MANY SPELLS + ABILITIES + GF's too...
added small chance for status effects to most GFs...
eg Leviathan has small % to wash away an enemy... Pandemona also has a small % to blow away an enemy... that sort of thing :)

for those of you who like to use: Percent & Catastrophe...
"There are a pair of spells intended for Selphie's "Slot" Limit command that weren't used. Both can be obtained as normal spells with a GameShark (or HYNE Save EDITOR)(as can the four that are used), and work as advertised, though they weren't given unique animations, and look identical to the Fire spell. No "Slot" spells can be junctioned, however.

Percent - This drops the HP of all enemies to critical levels.
Catastrophe - Deals heavy non-elemental damage to all enemies."

I've Finally Changed The Animations for both of these... they should now look much better instead of Casting fire...
Percent now has "LIGHT PILLAR" ANIMATION - Holy - 97 Attack Power - single target - instead of always reducing enemy HP to 1, which was clearly OP... 64/255 chance to BLIND (Darkness)
Catastrophe now has "HELL's JUDGEMENT" ANIMATION - Non-Elemental - 169 Attack Power - all targets - 96/255 chance to apply DOOM

Rapture - now has a diff animation for now... i decided to try removing the EJECT Status Attack... but then you would continue fighting invisible enemies lol...so using the Animation from something else... for now it's MEGA PULSE CANNON... which looks quite funny coming out of a person's Torso imo...84 Attack Power - Non-Elemental (but i thought about making it Holy maybe...?)

ALSO... I've Stopped "THE END" from being an I-WIN-BUTTON...
it now is just incredibly strong... but NO LONGER WILL 1 SHOT EVERY BOSS...
196 Attack Power - added 96/255 chance to apply Vit0 / Confusion...

For the Sake Of Comparison... Ultima was 80 Attack Power default... now 88...  but with THE END doing 196 it's still much more powerful then even APOCALYPSE which is at 128... this feels fairly right to me... but i'd love to get more feedback :)


For eg:  I FINALLY FIXED THE STATS ON ENEMIES/BOSSES THAT WEREN'T LVLING UP...
NOW BOSSES / ENEMIES GET MUCH FASTER / RESIST MAGIC >..AS THEY GAIN LVLS...
SEIFER/ADEL ARE GREAT EXAMPLES... NOW CAST/ATTACK ALLOT MORE OFTEN... AND HE/SHE :p HAS NEW MOVES... YOU'VE BEEN WARNED !!! I'VE TESTED KEY PARTS TO MAKE SURE IT'S STILL BEATABLE... ADEL FOR EG AT LVL 100, GAVE ADEL'S "VICTIM" MORE HP... ABOUT 17K MAKES IT LESS HASSLE TO KEEP ALIVE... SINCE NOW THE DRAIN MOVE DOES MORE... SHELL STILL HELPS...[/size]

Carbuncle now available before even leaving balamb isle...
so that is now Quez + Shiva + Ifrit + Diablo and now in v17 onwards... there is a Carbuncle to draw from a Random Encounter on Balamb Beach... :)

reminder GFs attacks in my mod don't ignore SPR stats... not even Eden or Bahamut or Doomtrain...
this really helped the re-balancing of Magic VS GF VS ATTACK... :)

Starter weapons have a little less Attack power then they did... should increase motivation to upgrade...
some item drops added to make it easier for first few upgrades... fights around Balamb isle...

V26 LINK - All Known Bugs should be fixed... needs retesting for most...

Made some changes to KAMIKAZE ...
Casts "Great Attractor" on one Enemy before Ejecting+KO-ing the Caster...
Cinematic Planets being flung at your enemies... nice :)

also figured out how to make everyone do LIONHEART even with no swords :P ... just for fun... this one isn't in the mod pack anymore :)

Also Figured out how to single-cast "Angel Wing" on people other then RINOA... but this happens and then they get stuck... so my Cerberus Mod is the way to go for MAGICAL MAD RUSH...

I modified the .png files that came with the ENEMY UPSCALE MODPACK
"\Final Fantasy VIII\textures\en"
i gave all the Enemies more Color Saturation and also chose to manually adjust hue for some of them... for those i did, i used the same hue settings for the diff body parts so they match up with each or at least should :) (all good so far)
you noticed the main thing i haven't shared yet... :)
PS: i used PAINT.NET when doing individual images...
ImBatch for Batch Color Saturation +15% ish...

i think the re boss fight with adel on disk 4 is not gonna work out that well

because when you beat adel, she heaves on the floor and then screen goes white and then game might softlock

it surprised me that it was fine in-game as far as my tests went actually... it's just not super helpful since i already made ADEL LVL 100 fixed for the Real fight... but this way at least it can be fought again... without having to heal you know who... makes it very diff... needing to restrict yourself to single target moves is not something everyone liked on that part...

but if i drop the CANON ADEL to lvl 99... i can make a diff adel for lvl 100 + extra/diff moves...
could even have 3 versions of every boss in the game with the custom ranges for LOW MEDIUM HIGH Difficulty... based on lvl all the enemies in the game by default were :
lvl 1-19 = EASY...
lvl 20-29 = MEDIUM
lvl 30+ = HARD

i've made allot of changes to this ;) and since you can change the abilites/spells cast for each of the 3 DIFFICULTY/MOVE CHARTS...
there is allot of potential to turn this into a DARK AEON (FFX) STYLE MOD...


my plan was orig, to give Adel some Minions... like how Edea had Ignuion x2... in disc 1...
but fought 3v3... for now all the boss fights i've added as random encounters can be escaped from...

heya... the gameplay feels a bit different now :) (for eg GF spamming the SPR ignore moves, won;t ignore SPR anymore finally) ... especially if you are using both this multimodpack + the hard mode launcher (exclude the HP.dll imo if you do, so you keep 9999 cap on u)
i been focused on non-optional bosses until v9 where i've just added a couple small tweaks to Omega... HP is not what it was... and it should be a bit faster... but i haven't tested that part yet... i might of also added a cast or two... but although i found almost complete magic list...
eg ultima 19, apocalypse 20, Wall 52... etc... it only has a few of the many Unique boss moves listed... so i think for v10 i'll start trying to identify the magic/abilities after #55 Catastrophe...
The End for eg isn't in the list yet... despite WALL 52 + FULL-CURE 51 + RAPTURE 53 etc... being there...

i mean if you really wanted we could have OMEGA casting THE END 16x or so on repeat... with max haste... keen to read some ideas on here or the Discord page for my mods...

using pretty much all the FF8 Tools...
DELING + DOOMTRAIN + CACTILLIO + IFRIT + Hyne for some teleporting etc to test areas...

i'll be uploading v9 tonight i think, just trying to fix one of the 3 Sorceress Battles... which got corrupted... in v8 or v9wip i think...

yeah sorry about the cluster :P kinda started with one gameplay mod idea that has quickly branched out into about 50... and hundreds of tiny changes :P
i'll try to summarize the changes in a more organized way soon, trust me when i say i'm being more careful with what i change to the game then my description skills shown here would suggest...

and i found a glitch on your Mod, when i did the boss battle fight on the dollet mission, shiva damaged a invisable enemy on the dollet boss fight

should have some noticeable changes...
a TESTING Video for v9 OMEGA + ULTIMECIA could be cool if you wanna be the one to do it :P

i looked into it and i've either fixed that one or made it worse... either way the random encounters during the mission should feel really diff in v9 compared to v8 :P i was about to give it a go myself... been spending so much time on disc 3/4 that i'm finally coming back to testing disc 1...

BTW i think your the only person i have managed to get at least mildly excited by this... Despite it's potential...

so the Dollet Fight... =)  v9 seems to work but now we've somehow ended up with BIGGS + FAKE BIGGS Clone... Red Pants but top half of textures got messed up it seems... weird...
Elvoret went well... took me almost twice as long as usual to get to the shore ;)
X-ATM092 has Auto-Protect now BTW... Also more HP but i don't think i overdid it, although since the save point is accessible after the timer has started i worry about someone not being strong enough...
need to retry the run to the shore intentionally doing all battles and without magic or junctions perhaps, depends...

oh so if you using Everything... i'd love to figure out if rapture is working as intending...
i'm fairly content with most of the Holy Spells, but i thought Rapture could be somewhere between Holy's DMG and PERCENT's (renaming soon i hope)... but i wanted Rapture to be MultiTarget while keeping the others Single... although since i'm adding enemies to fights, so more of them = more total dmg, i might go the other way with its power... BUT i thought considering RAPTURE is RAPTURE :P i should add a DOOM effect...

and you'll notice Regen, Haste, Protect, Shell Etc lasting longer... i do need to tune DOOM's Duration to be short enough to actual pose a threat... it was funny though when i was testing ADEL, Gilgamesh Showed up and Did a move i added Doom to... so he cast Doom on Rinoa... LMAO... and then realized i had to try to cleanse it asap... she had Haste + Regen + Shell on... so i had to recast them after i save her / avoided Game Over lol... so i thought about adding Doom to Adel's Drain Move, but it might Refresh itself or i s'pose it would just miss after that...

so i quickly put together V10 after making some changes like reducing the Stats for the T-REX back down a bit after what you can see in this video happened :P    ... i used f2 for once to record some evidence...
basically you get hit like 2-3 times before the ATB even fills... LOL

Make Sure you update to latest (v10 as of now) :) unless of course you want this to happen to you... in that case i left v9's links up...

Thanks, your my #1 FAN :) using HYNE Save Editor... you can unlock Both, they work fine in combat... Edea has a close up Field Model but no far away one so she goes invisible... and avoid making them leader then you should be fine... probs bad idea to attempt to use TWO Seifer during Dollet Mission... i haven't tried though...

i found out WALL cast by enemies ends up on the party :P so that i have a few to change to something else :P
can't remember adjusting much on that boss so i'm surprised but obviously i'll look into it... :P thanks again for the info...

sorry you've encountered another one... the joys of being first to test that part... of the game... as i said, my biggest changes were to disc 3/4 so that's where testing has been done primarily and i'm still fixing issues here n there...
for eg, Sorceress Battles... 1st got currupted a while ago, i've since fixed it... 2nd Sorceress works but the last part of that battle vs Wormlike Sorceress is still broken... technically that is disc 4 anyway... so a while off where you are at...
i've been testing more and more boss fights, trying to confirm them as being ok...
as stated on discord i do sleep sometimes, like other humans, so sorry i was unresponsive :P
along with the Missile Base Boss (you said on of the moves did 0 DMG) i'll be modding a save to teleport to G-Garden's Big battles :P and i'll see how i go :)

the tools i use aren't all 100% either... they have bugs... so handy to use despite that, since i just wouldn't be trying without them... but it does mean... LOTS of testing...
a % of the public has gotta be trying this out yet not signing up to report bugs... so i am relying on my own testing, and anyone willing to let me know when/where there are bugs :P
once i feel like i have finished the majority of changes i have planned i'll be starting a completely fresh play-through... esp since the DRAWS available from allot of mobs + bosses have been tweaked also :P
DELING FIELD EDITOR + IFRIT ENEMY EDITOR + CACTILIO BATTLE SCENE EDITOR + DOOMTRAIN & CARBUNCLE for Kernel Edits... etc :P
changing enemies with cactilio for eg, hard to guess positioning co-ordinates in advance of seeing placement in-game... also many enemies seem to crash if loaded alongside another, so gradually making a list of small enemies / multi-mob compatible ones...

huh, i didn't add any save points... you're probably using Move-Find? and it must be a hidden one i guess?

End of Disc 2 - Edea...
Disc 3 - Mobile8 and possibly Seifer...
Start of Disc 4 - Last Phase of the Scorceress battles... needs re-testing, might work again?


a few crashes on modified random battles...
disc 1 Dollet Mission after the Bridge? needs re-testing, might be fixed...
Disc 2/3 Lunatic Pandora - not sure which room might have a crash still somewhere in there... (screen-shots of where would help)
Disc 4 should be cool, as far as my own testing goes... it's where i've modifed the most random battles but also where i've usually tested each area as i did so...

Just uploaded V15... after finishing Disc 2 fixing / tweaking...
Alexander is no longer available at the end of disc 2... for now...
i'll figure out an alternate way to acquire him just a little later in-game probs...
i had a few headaches though, things got worse before they got better...
but yeah... now to re-test Mobile8 onwards again...
oh and it seems at least one GF might be broken... just found out...

NEW :) V17 - another round of fixes + kernel mods...
Disc 1 ... should be close to perfect... i started a new game while making v17 to re-check the first few hours in-game... :)
Disc 2 ... as far as i know everything should be fixed... (except maybe one attack done by missile base boss doing 0 dmg...?)
Disc 3 ... likewise... as far as i know everything should be fixed...
Disc 4 ... about a dozen small things on my to-do list + a few bugs that prevent us from beating disc 4 currently...

Carbuncle now available before even leaving Balamb Isle...
so that is now Quez + Shiva + Ifrit + Diablo + Bahamut (if you beat 2x lvl 25 twins inside FireCavern...) and now in v17 there is a Carbuncle to draw from a Random Encounter on Balamb Beach... :)
reminder GFs attacks in my mod don't ignore SPR stats... not even Eden or Bahamut or Doomtrain...
this really helped the re-balancing of Magic VS GF VS ATTACK... :) also Starter weapons have a little less Attack power then they did... should increase motivation to upgrade... drops added to make it easier for first few upgrades... around Balamb...

well i'm re-testing random battles throughout the game... i really need more testers for those too :)
as far as disc 4, all the bosses except the final should work fine, allot of them weren't changed much because of disc 4 limitations... aka locked abilities for some of them...
and the order is not strict... if you are using my Re-Translation mod, i added a small message to let you know when you're at the Final Save Point...

i am back from my good well nap, and i just tested out the fight with the third to almost last form of ulimitea without the tail, and it softlocks when she casts the ulimite spell without animation playing on it

i can still pause the game and stuff but the battle softlocks without anymore movement

nice question you have there... i realized gradually that some slots are already marked for single target or multi / enemy as target or self-cast...
so i could only use a buff or #23 = Curaga when they were already casting something like reflect on themselves...
likewise i didn't know i'd get Single target Ultima's sometimes... etc
some mods of the kernel did happen... but apocalypse for eg is still meant to be multi-target... i didn't tick single on it...
so once i realized i tried to make sure i was replacing single target spells with single usually... but i think a little mix could be fun...
for the eg you wanted to know about, i must of replaced something like Meteor with it... :P

Well let me understand, single magic can´t hit all party like fire right?

What i trying to do is use the catastrophe magic, or replace a firaga magic to another one that should hit all enemies in stead of one, fro exe:

Edea firaga: replace firaga for ultima (but if you do that in IFRIT, ultima will still damage ONE party member)

i'm suggesting to me it seems that if a boss uses all single target magic for eg... Flare...
replacing FLARE with Ultima still gives it Single target condition somewhere in the AI code, which i've barely looked at with the beta...

BUT... if you replace GRAVIJA / METEOR / TORNADO for eg, with ULTIMA (or other multi target)...
 I'm pretty sure it works against the whole party...

also noticed a certain boss seems to target a certain character slot more... would be good to balance it out with some AI changes...
keen to gradually experiment more so anything else i can try to help with will probs also teach me something else in the process...

Ok then XD now i get it, in ifrit i know how to change the AI to in this case hit all party (you need do change the number stats 201,202,203 for 204) but when you do that in IFRIT, some bug will happen in the battle, some grafics will be messy or something like that =/ for ex:

Edea woulnd´t appear, Seifer gunblade will turn into a green line, Diablos magic animation will crash.

Hey

The red Gaint boss battle works now, but his death animation is 100% broken

and almost all of the opticail boss are fixed but dark timat, since that boss softlocked the game since there was a enemy beside him

Hey I'm new to all of this, I used the deling app to replace the files inside of the /data folder, but how can I know for sure if the mod has been applied? I just finished getting Ifrit but i honestly can't notice any difference so far

Mod is working great but fire cavern enemies are giving graphic glitches and bats that use dark mist cause a soft lock

Edit: I'm also getting random soft locks in the dream world with laguna right before getting to galbadia garden. It happens with random encounters and  comes back with "an unkown exception has occured"

Edit(2): Random soft locks in Tomb of the Unknown King in battles with Death Claw and Blobra, not sure what causes it yet.

Also just started in the Fire Cavern, had the same graphical glitch and soft lock as the user above. Looking forward to trying this more in the future.

You could always load up the v23 mod play through the cavern, then load up the v24 mod. If you're worried about the bahamut twins, they show up in the training center for some reason, at least after the dance scene when Quistis asks you to go there with her

yeah i found out at least one of the TotUK battles isn't ok... and the RED BAT extra moves...
thanks for the info that it's DARK MIST that has an issue...
the texture issue i'm not sure about there... i think my RED BAT file might of gotten Corrupted... so i'll revert that one and re-do some changes...

yeah it's just one room / field... of the Training Center... temp mod... Battle 91 got put in to replace one of the repeat battle scenes...

likewise i realized that DEATH CLAW doesn't seem to work alongside any other enemies AFAIK... so it's being removed/replaced from some areas where i had placed it... i already think i've removed it from the TOMB in v23/24...

Well like I mentioned earlier I'm not too worried about the red bats and the fire cave because you can go into the training center and the bahamut twins will randomly appear.

The Laguna dream issue, when you first fight the esthar soldiers, I took the right path and went down the ladder instead of going all the way straight where the draw point is. I still had one soft lock, but I changed my settings to "original graphic gameplay" in the FF8 launcher and idk if that was the fix, but I didn't have anymore soft locks.

As for the Tomb, I just ran away anytime I ran into them and no issues so far. Currently I'm doing the edea mission so I'll let you know if something comes up, it's my day off so I'll be playing this pretty much all day lol so I'll be able to give you some decent feedback on your update

I'll apply the patch once I'm able to get back to the Balamb area to see how it works.

Edit: Lol I'll take advantage of the temp mod before the next update then regarding the training center :p

Edit(2): So I ended having to apply the patch because I forgot there are bats in the sewers -_- the bats don't have icons anymore but use heartbreak instead of dark mist

So V26 is up... I've fixed about 4-5 Corrupted Enemy Data Files...
many other battle scene changes... added some more test battles...
Tweaked some more things... and re-reading the posts here i think the only bug i forgot about the was invisible Red Bats...
so they all need re-testing officially, but we're definetly getting there...
WENDIGO, ABYSS WORM, TIAMAT & a couple other Enemies have been reverted to Stock Stats / Moves for now...
those were some of the Corrupted files... in the recent versions...
Odin should also work again... needs testing & Feedback though...
i gave up for now trying to give him real moves for his battle...
so it's simply a small stat boost and 1 small other change they may work as intended if/when the timer runs out... ;)
