Releases / Re: [FF7PC-98/Steam] New Threat Mod (v2.0.92)
« on: 2020-08-31 09:33:38 »
Hey Sega, thanks for your work.  For 2.0, has anyone else experience a problem with toggling the field music on during battles?  It worked with 1.5, but after I upgraded to 2.0 yesterday the battle music remains normal even with the field option toggled.

If you are upgrading from 1.5 to 2.0 using the same save file, you can expect things not working properly for sure. It's recommended that you start a new game with 2.0 version, as it is not compatible with games started using 1.5.

Hello everyone
I have been trying to finish this mod, however everytime i master my elemental materia it starts absorbing and thus healing me, which kills my mood to finish the mod
I tried playing on steam, played on 7th heaven, reinstalled multiple times but i have this problem no matter the platform
What should i do ? Thanks

I bet Sega Chief has been busy with the new release of NT 2.0. I'm sure he will have a look and fix it asap if it's an actual issue with the mod.

2.0 is delayed, will make a post about it in more detail.

Is there any chance Remako HD will ever be a stand-alone program? For the life of me, I cannot get 7'th Heaven to launch FF7.

For example, The Moguri patch for FF9 works like a charm, and it's so easy. I just like FF7 better and wish there was a similar solution.

Thanks
Hermy:)

Forget 7th Heaven 1.x!

You should definitely give a try to the newly released 7th Heaven 2.0 -> http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=19533.0 It's incredibly easy to setup and get it started

I'd also strongly suggest you to NOT use this graphical mod (it has not been updated in several months) and instead opt for a much better and bug free upscaling mod -> http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=19204.0

Hope this helps.

I hope this help.

Hello everyone!

I know I've mentioned this a couple times in the past, but the time has finally come...

To be clear, this document is still a work in progress and is not nearly as complete as I'd like it to be. This only covers Final Fantasy VII - New Threat 1.5!

I've worked with Sega Chief on validating the data and will continue to validate as I work on this. Please take the time to review the document, see if you like the formatting, and if you spot out any errors or have suggestions, shoot me a message either on Qhimm (personal message works best to keep the forums on topic) or on Discord (my info is in the doc). Alternatively, you can use the comment feature on Google Docs to point out an error/suggestion to me as well.

If you see any text in red, this indicates that I need to confirm the data is accurate, or I have found something that needs to be changed and will get the info over to Sega Chief in bundles to prevent a ton of mini changes being made. Much more productive to make large scale changes!

The tabs that are complete, but can always use more sets of eyes to validate are as follows:

  • 1.5 Changes & Features
  • 1.5 Passives/Base Stats/Source Point Options
  • 1.5 Limit Breaks
  • 1.5 Weapons
  • 1.5 Armors
  • 1.5 Accessories

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1X1sQP1Q6MVrxt1E7ytniaG_OEhN8XqlAH2Srv3iHjLc/edit?usp=sharing

There is still a lot of work to do here to get everything ready. Need to add locations for items/materia/enemy skills/etc...Expect more to come in the following weeks.

Thanks!

This is a great job. Thanks a ton. Can I suggest that, instead of using a spreadsheet, it would be better to just use a github gist and use markdown for the file? It would make read, access and update the file so much better/easier. I can help with that, just drop me a DM.

Thanks again for the hard work.

Oh, it's log changes you're after? I thought it was a list of where things were. In any case, here's the list I meant:
https://pastebin.com/SiJkKDVa

As for log changes, I did originally have versioning on 1.0 through to 1.0.5 and should have carried on with that. But I stopped doing it when I lost track of changes and decided to just use the date of each iteration's release instead. I'll try and get in the habit again for any patches made to the final version.

So changes with the latest version were only for steal/drops/enemy skill? Thanks!

Hey Sega, I cannot find where you put the logchanges of the latest 30th December release. Would you point that out for me? Thanks

Suggestion time: I'd use some sort of sem-versioning for the new releases, so it's easier to refer back to different versions - something like 1.5.1 for example would make clear a new version has been released and that it's just tweaking some aspects of the previous release, not a major rework.

Well, turns out that simply putting the flevel and the menu folders into the mods/Textures folder just does the job with 7Heaven (which uses also aali's driver). Great mod. Thanks!

I use this one (with a custom font for french version) : http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=18397.0

Hi Satsuki, do you use that mod with 7h? In case, how do you do it? I asked for more info in the post you linked but no luck. Thanks

Hey everyone, I'd like to give this mod a try but I'm struggling to find instructions about install. My preferred way to manage mods is using 7 Heaven but I can see that the downloaded file contains just 2 folders with a bunch of images in them (no .iro file or any reference to it).

Am I missing something obvious here?

Ty, I'll give it a try  ;)

What's the best menu(in and off battle) mod you suggest that can be used with your pack without conflicts? I feel menus are now the only thing that can actually be improved

I'll try implementing the immunities again.

I'm so happy to hear that. I felt very sad when I had to cure Sephiroth from the dragon's hits :'(

So far CaptRobau haven't fixed anything from it's initial release, i hope he will, maybe you can try to mp him.
Others packs are ready to use, check on this forum, you may find a pack more finalised.

Good to see you've edited your initial message, it was way too mean
Try to not make the "frechness" that is in you take over :D <- (I'm Italian, I love french people and this is just a joke)

Anyway, yes, I'll try to PM him. I can see from his personal blog he's on different projects, he might not want to perfect this one. It is a pity, although understandable.

22
Hey CaptRobau, are you planning to release a follow up to this release fixing bugs and issues? Would be nice to keep this mod maintained since I think it is the best looking one :D

Hey Sega, just to report possible bug on innate abilities of 1.5

This streamer: https://www.twitch.tv/gamingmule/videos has issues with innate abilities being not triggered (Tifa does not revive, Cloud doesn't get buff etc.)

He mentions that multiple times during his streams, maybe worth having a look at it?

(installed NT 1.5 with 7H)

Firstly, great work, this new models look amazing.

I've got 2 questions:

1) is there any gameplay video where this mode is used in its last release? If yes, where?
2) is this mod compatible with Remako 1.0 and New Thread 1.5 using 7Heaven? If it is, do I need to follow any particular procedure or order when applying these mods?

Thanks

Thanks for this update but i've tried it and it's always the same than before, not your fault, but gigapixel is not designed for processing this type of pictures so long story short :
-The quality is very unconsistant between files and also across a single scene
-The texture are messed up with gigapixel as it's using a database of texture so the texture used (mainly for rocks, grass,.. all "natural" elements) are not at all the same as in the original game design
-The "straight lines" desing as in buildings or houses are messed up with lost of blurry noise
-Most of the low quality source fields are overfiltered so it's realy blurry
-Lots of chromatic aberations

Also you don't have done a playthrough of the game so there's lots lighting bugs and no optimised part, for me it's not realy a 1.0 version but a beta+.
You realy should have go for esrgan or sfgan your results would have been realy better (for me better, is more natural, constant and close to original design)

To my mind my pack and the one from Manakaiser (witch is WIP) are clearly the bests choise right now and i think once the one from Manakaiser will be final it will be better than mine.

Sorry to be hard in my observations but as you relased the first an "IA" pack, it's watched by other forum and direct users, and to my mind they must know that there's alternatives...

I disagree with your observations. I still feel the remako bgs are more natural and closer to FF style. Your bg, imo, are too "sharp" and "perfect".
