Hello.
I have the idea to create one or more archives grouping all the screens finished and integrated into the game (from the Team Avalanche, jmp and Jusete) and thus to make a topic for that. Since I do most of the layering, it will be easy for me to edit the posts.
But for the moment, I can't because there are several screens that I want to rework before publishing them.
Thanks mate. All my field backgrounds are on  the first post, take them if you needed.

Yeah that's what I'm trying to do. If you follow my tread, you can see that I'm trying to finish the same area ( Kalm, chocobo farm, Gaea's cliff house...) To avoid different styles. I didn't know that jmp made the barn ( I've been checking his thread and is in there so, my bad) but to be honest, I have seen that jmp started too many different areas and a lot of them aren't finished( I understand that, we have a life outside the forums and modding and sometimes you get stuck in some big backgrounds and start a new one to don't stop) and that makes difficult to choose an area. I'm going to finish the farm area to have all the backgrounds in the same style and after that I'll start with another one from kalm or gold saucer. I suggest to move jmp's thread in graphical releases to team's avalanche section and maybe edit his first post with all the backgrounds he has done so far. That will avoid this kind of mistakes in the future

Why do you do these scenes again? They are already finished ... / =

Didn't notice that were already done, just wanted to finish the farm area... my bad.

I think that you could keep doing the glitch without that square bug but now highwind is not able to land next to the edge so, never again. xD

Does stopping Square button moving Highwind everywhere fix this too?  Because that's a bug in of itself..  and I've disabled that.
Which one is that bug? I knew about the one you land on the edge but not that one you say ...

Be free to add it in Reunion, I'll be glad to contribute xD

About the editing, i'm extracting and converting the wm model to object and then editing in 3ds max. Basically I'm replacing the triangles I don't want for others where  you can't land with highwind.

I´ve fixed the glitch editing the world map to make highwind unable to land next to the cliff:

Bear in mind that I´m using "Felix Leonhart´s wm enhanced textures" so I don´t know if it´s working with the orginal ones.

Here are the files, just copy and replace in data/wm:

Exellent work Jusete, I'm looking to create an archive with what I already work in 3D to send them to you, I can not work on it, you know, it takes a long time and unfortunately this time I do not have it ... At least I do not have it any more, the archive will be rather voluminous so it takes a certain time for compression. But I'm preparing you for it. :)
Give us this remake, you work better than me on 3D!
That would be awesome!!! I'll be glad to work on what you started. Your work inspired me to start this project so it'll be a pleasure. Waiting fort what you have for me, thanks!!!

Ups, I didn't realize about the white peaks on the grass. It's because the ambient occlusion layer, easy to fix. I'll try to decrease the light a little bit as well. About the shadow f the tree, I'll apply some blur effect to make it smoother. I'll try to update it by tomorrow. Thanks for the advise Kaldarasha xD

As promised...

farm_2

I´ve changed the shingles and increase a little bit the bump and displacement effect. The grass from inside the fences is shorter than the one outside to make a grass tread effect. Some sacks with chocobo greens, mud and a puddel inside the fences as weell and some chaff inside the barn.

Hope you like it guys xD.

Nice, Grimmy is one of the best in ff7 modding so I´m happy to have him in.

PS:
I´ve updated the first post with all the pics and links to download the backgrounds xD.

They look amazing man, good work. What kind of editing are you doing in Photoshop??

Hey cmh175, nice to see you around xD. I'll do something with the shingles in post production with Photoshop. The grass is now looking great and I've changed the lighting and now is more realistic. on the other hand, I've used the 5$ trial plus 4$ more to render this background so any donations will be welcome. I'll update the first post with all the finished pics and links to download them and with the link to the donation page. Thank you for all your tips, your comments and support!
PS: I'll post the finished background during this weekend when I finish the post-production xD

I'm learning 3ds max in my free time so, hopefully, I'll start to work with this program soon. The point to work with SketchUp is because it's faster and easier, you don't need to be worried about uw mapping and the final result is good. I still need to learn a lot about rendering settings, materials and all that stuff in SketchUp so will be better and better. I'll try to set up vray swarm (network rendering in vray) and hopefully the rendering time and workload on my computer will decrease. By the way, I tested the render farm tool yesterday and I spent 3.75$ using 6 cores(4 from my computer + 2 from the render farm) on a 2500*2500 pixels scene without textures and with the ambient occlusion activated. The render was done in 2:30h(with my laptop usually takes 8-10h so definitely it's worth it). This is used to add and have more control on the ambient occlusion in post-production. I'll try later with all the full textures and 10 cores+ and see how long it takes and how much it spends. I'll keep you posted.

PS: what do you thing is the perfect/appropiate resolution in pixels for the game? Maybe 2500pxls is too much and we don't need that resolution...

I'm using vray but for some reason I can not set up the proxy renderer. I think because my vray have the black patch... I don't know if you understand me xD

I would gladly support you with some money. Send me a pm what you need to get started.
Thank you, I really appreciate your support. I'll try with the 5$ trial and see how many renders I can do. It's not too expensive,  0'02$ per hour per core, so hopefully I could do a bunch of them with that money. Thanks again for all the support, I know the renders are not perfect but I'm trying to improve in every new scene and with your comments it's more easy to continue this project. :) :) ;)
