Completely unrelated / Re: my birthday
« on: 2016-02-20 16:57:47 »
Happy birthday, man!

77
This has been reported multiple times, and it's rarely (if ever) permanent. It can usually be solved by restarting the game.

78
I wouldn't really call Tonberry a system, more like a texture replacer.
You download Tonberry, put the files and folders in your FF8 directory, and put hashmaps, objmaps, and textures in the respective folders.
Unfortunately, one of the main modders for this, Mcindus, has had his downloads removed due to the domain going down, but there should be some mirrors, and he is trying to get the files back up.

7thHeaven / Re: need a working link gc 7h
« on: 2016-02-17 20:19:10 »
I just downloaded it from the 7thHeaven tutorial. Have you tried redownloading it?
If that's the one you used, then it should have added everything you need.
Also, for future reference, topics like this should go here.

80
MEGA, maybe?
I can't say I'm too knowledgeable on where to upload files, but MEGA has a rather decent amount of space available, and fast download speeds.
Though Google Drive isn't that bad either.
Either way, thanks for doing something about it!  ;D

81
Most likely the models you're using for weapons aren't tested with cmh175 - Team Avalanche Edits Cloud, causing errors like this.
This happened to me, too, but with Ultima Weapon.
I'd recommend just using default TA Cloud, though it's up to you.

82
The download links are dead. If you have the files, can you upload it to MEGA or something else?

Troubleshooting / Re: Ff7 background looking smudged ?
« on: 2016-02-07 14:08:54 »
Uninstall that copy of FFVII (and backup your save folder if you wish), delete the mods from the install folder, use a registry cleaner (preferably, I didn't use one but my newer versions of FFVII still work great), and reinstall, using 7thHeaven to mod instead.
Though it could just be that that's how the upscaled backgrounds look on bootlegged FFVII, it's been a while.
Or, you could dig through the Bootleg section of the forum to see if that's already been asked.

Audio Modding / Re: .ogg file not working in opening movie
« on: 2016-02-07 03:32:11 »
Does it simply not play anything, or does it use the original track? If the latter, then most likely it's streaming the audio from the movie file itself, as the original PC version did that, I believe.
If it isn't playing anything, I can't help.

85
Yes, I believe I have a problem similar to this, except it's after the Dollet Exam, and I know for a fact it's not Tonberry, as it happens even without that.
In my case, it's right after the FMV ends, and it might be my PC being garbage.

Troubleshooting / Re: Tifa bootleg vs 7th heaven
« on: 2016-02-07 01:12:49 »
All in all, 7th Heaven is much better than Bootleg. You have more options (aside from Cloud's weapons) and you don't have to waste space on stuff you don't want.
Plus it uses Aali's OpenGL Driver 8.something (I forget the specific version) instead of 7.11.b, and vgstream instead of FF7Music.
Though, in reality, you should probably try to customize it specifically to your tastes, with external mods as well (as long as they're compatible, of course).

7thHeaven / Re: Discrepancy with attack stat
« on: 2016-01-28 20:38:53 »
It's ff7_mo.exe. Though that might just be because the version of Reunion used with 7thHeaven is R03(e), which uses that .exe, as I don't know if it's used with R04c.

88
OK, this is more of a question regarding the Menu Overhaul specifically. Is there a reason it calculates attack differently? When I use the retranslation, the attack stat is the same as a vanilla copy in the same situation, but it's different when using ff7_mo.exe.
Is there a specific reason for this, is it an error, or is there something else I'm missing?

I believe they mean shifting characters, like pressing R2 would do.

7thHeaven / Re: Discrepancy with attack stat
« on: 2016-01-27 20:13:26 »
OK, since it seems that I have 34 Attack using 7th Heaven, I'm guessing it has something to do with the Buster Sword.
EDIT: So, after disabling Menu Overhaul, I'm back to 43 Attack, so I'll check if it's like that with ReTranslated. Which seemed to work, strangely. Is there something different in ff7_mo.exe to cause this?

I'm right after helping Aerith escape the church, with Cloud equipped with Buster Sword at level 13.
And yes, when I use that save file with vanilla FF7 it gives me ~100 damage.
I'll try converting one of my PSP saves to a .ff7 file and seeing if that works.
And I'd be happy to upload my file if need be. :D
EDIT: Just in case, here's the link.

7thHeaven / Re: Discrepancy with attack stat

I'm using the Steam version, and normally is both before and after game converter, as I tried using the official launcher after converting to see if it would be like vanilla FF7.

7thHeaven / Discrepancy with attack stat
« on: 2016-01-27 00:37:46 »
So, when I play FFVII normally, the stats are, well, normal.
However, when I play it with 7th Heaven, the amount of damage I do is way less than normal. For instance, I might do above 100 damage normally, but with the same hit in 7th Heaven I'd only do 40 or so.
Here's my load order, in case that helps, and I'm using ff7_mo.exe

7thHeaven / Re: Failing to load Weapon Textures
« on: 2016-01-26 23:59:34 »
I had a problem similar to this, using the Mike + Millenia weapons for Cloud.
For most of the time I was using it, it worked, but the moment I entered the final segment with Sephiroth (where you either use Omnislash or counterattack) the textures for Ultima Weapon failed to load.
here's my load order

Is there a way to physically change the location of your party through this?
Like, I know it can activate event flags, but I need to get out of the Dollet exam due to it crashing every time I finish it, and I want to change the location where I saved at  from the Comm. Tower to Balamb's hotel.
I know there's an option to change the location name, but it doesn't change the actual location (for me, at least)

I believe so, as far as I know the main difference is the metadata.xml for cloud saving

7thHeaven / [RESOLVED] FMVs not playing sound correctly
« on: 2016-01-20 01:56:58 »
Pretty much, whenever an FMV plays in the copy of FFVII I'm using for 7thHeaven, the sound plays for, like, the first 2 seconds, and then immediately cuts out.
While I do have some audio hiccups on the Steam FMVs, they work for the most part, and I don't recall having this issue when I used Bootleg.
For reference, I'm using the Remastered FMVs from cmh175.
I can post my PC's specs if needed, but I'm not sure if it's because of me having a weak PC.
EDIT: nvm, turned out to be me using the original CD-Rom version

If it still doesn't work, keep a backup of that .dll (which can be found earlier in this thread), and uninstall and reinstall Roses and Wine, and replace the RaW.dll found when normally installed with your backup (unless that's the version used in the current installer, I don't know if DLPB has changed it)
