Thanks, I did what you said and it definitely sounds better BUT its still kinda weird. Like when i get in a battle you hear the song play twice. like it starts when it should normally start but then the music starts a 2nd time on top of the 1rst time. like im playing two songs at the same time but i started one a half second before starting the 1rst.

if i increase the buffer to the max (20 000) can it cause any problems?

edit: pyrozen  where it says mute midi on custom playback it is checkmarked yes... unless you are referring to somewhere else.

So I have a problem.  When playing ff7, with ff7 music the music (finalfantim's) in game sounds a little funny.  its hard to explain, its like its slow or something.  almost like it stutters or like i have my two headphones or speakers on and they are both playing the same music but 1 speaker is  half a second behind/slower than the other speaker.

NOTE: When im using  finalfantims music with windows media player (not in game)  the music sounds perfectly fine, its only when it plays the music in final fantasy 7 that it gets all weird/garbled... not very bad or anything though.

im using windows vista, its a pretty new computer, in ff7 config for sound driver it says im using sigmatel high definition audio codec.  and under midi driver it says microsoft gs wavetable  synth then under midi data it says yamaha xg midi.

if there is any other info i can give to be helpful let know.

i would love to be able to fix the music so its not garbled together anymore.

also should mention,  in ff7 music it says my input plugin is C:\FF7Music\in_vgmstream.dll and my output plugin is C:\FF7Music\out_wave.dll

i have no idea if any of that matters but i want to give as much info as possible so i can fix this problem.

Wow, well i feel dumb, for some reason I assumed the only way to have ff7 music working was to use the icon on the desktop.

Thanks for the help.

I have spent a decent amount of time searching for the answer... forgive me for failing to find it.

I have ff7 music working perfect, and phoenix rejuvenation project also working fine.

BUT I don't know how to have BOTH working at the SAME TIME.

FF7 music has its own icon on the desktop to make it work and start up with the game  but so does the ff7-prp,  how can I have both at the same time?

Or do I have to choose between updated models and updated music?

Thanks in advance.

those soldiers were damn hard, i leveled up a decent amount and still couldnt win.  eventually had to go all out with status changing spells and enemy skills to actually beat those guys.

Thanks, i'll look at those links tomorrow,  kinda busy now, about to go out and watch the UFC fights, henderson is fighting franklin.

That's nice to know he finally admitted he will make a remake eventually,  I wasn't aware he actually admitted to it.

EDIT:  and this is what i meant by 1rst link is screwed up,  this is all i see on that page

maxElements) { var newCookie = ''; var delim = ''; for ( var i = (cookieParts.length - maxElements); i < cookieParts.length; i++) { if (newCookie) { delim = delimiter; } newCookie += delim + cookieParts; } return newCookie; } return cookie; } function thumbsWriteIdCookie(id) { var date = new Date(); date.setDate(date.getDate()+30); if (thumbscookiedata) { thumbscookiedata = truncateCookie(thumbscookiedata, '|', 9); document.cookie = 'thumbs=' + thumbscookiedata + '|' + id + '; expires=' + date.toGMTString() + '; path=/;'; } else { document.cookie = 'thumbs=' + id + '; expires=' + date.toGMTString() + '; path=/;'; } } function thumbscheckIdCookie(id) { thumbscookiedata = thumbsGetIdCookie('thumbs'); if (thumbscookiedata != '') { if (thumbscookiedata != 'undefined') { if (thumbscookiedata != 'null') { var nameVal = thumbscookiedata.split('|'); for (var i=0; i

1rst link is screwed up

2nd link was a waste of my time

3rd link however was quite interesting, of course a lot of people are just gonna say "it's not referring to a remake of ff7 it's referring to a sequel or spin off blah blah blah"

I for one think there will be a remake... eventually.  Maybe for whatever comes after the ps3, maybe for the ps3, I don't know, but eventually.

Wow I feel so stupid, I'm sure most of you already know this but I just figured out that you can use the control-f  function thingy with HOJO, so it is much, much easier to edit all the enemies with the same name but different formation.

Just wanted to share this incase anyone out there doesn't know (doubt it)

FF7 Tools / Re: Teioh - a FF7 kernel2 editor
« on: 2008-11-25 22:06:57 »
I don't understand what the problem is...

I used your editor on my kernel2 bin and now everytime I doubleclick on the ff7 icon to play the game, the game won't even start, it just crashes. I really, really don't want to have to replace my kernel2 with my  old backup of kernel2 because I put like 30 minutes of work into it!! I don't want to have to start from scratch again.

Can anyone be of any help? Or do I really have to start back at square one?

EDIT: File size is 14.7 KB  if that matters at all.

Also I should probably mention that every time I am finished using teioh I will save it, and it will save and replace over the old kernel2  BUT after that happens I get an error message saying

Teioh.exe-unable to locate component this application failed to start because borlndmm.dll was not found. Re-installing this application should resolve this problem.

2nd Edit: Turns out i had to keep the file size of kernel2 UNDER 14.5 or something like that to keep the game from crashing.  someone earlier in the thread said the max was about 27 kb  but  thats not the case for me...

oh and i still get that borlndmm.dll error msg BUT it doesnt seem to matter at all, it doesnt affect anything

I don't know anything about how to fix the upside down cinematics, I just wanted to say that i am pretty sure you can't have the 9999 breaker patch and the phoenix rejuv patch at the same time. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

tifa's face looks very good.  much better than the other two, although they look pretty good as well.

22
On my computer I have Gjoerulv's mod, the saints high res patch, and dzuigo's 9999 limit breaker all installed. Everything works fine... well except for the fact that I have that stupid problem where my cinematics are all upside down, but that's just a minor annoyance.

with lock venus and tera or whatever her name is  My strategy is to kill the one that revives , then kill the one that cures, then kill locke the blue one last. mindblow with barret is very helpful in that fight, and cross slash's paralyze can be helpful as well. dont forget to steal the silver armlet, there is also a fairy ring and a x potion too.

24
what is this mod exactly? a better version of NPC Recon ?

Yes, a MUCH better version.
