I would also like to chime in and ask how the project is going. I have a pretty solid background in programming and would be interested to get the most recent sources
build-able and running on my pc. wonders what still needs to be done

IKEA...

An Ikea bookcase would not have the durability to hold that many books, it must be akin to a higher quality brand

I am very excited to play this field in the game, it is coming together very nicely. Hopefully the textures of the character models will blend well with the colors of the backgrounds

I dig through your trash all the time! Nice sink man

Regardless of the where the finish line may lie, you guys should be proud of the monster of a project this retranslation has become.
Who cares what negativity or pressure people impose, acknowledging that will only slow you down

I think Mayo's issue is more related to manipulating his awesomely big and beautiful model within blender than
how long it takes him to render it. Running a remote virtual machine from your pc to his laptop might help but so could
running blender from a lightweight linux distro. But I really dont know what im talking about.
I really just wanted to say that field screen looks freakin beautiful

Those 'defying laws of physics' geometry is pretty consistent throughout FF7
and is part of its style. Just look at the world map, chibi towns and forests.
In field, chibi field models and regular sized furniture.

Your field background is full of win and looks awesome. I don't think splitting hairs on the super fine details
are really necessary at this point, it certainly looks completed to me :) I kinda would like to see what
it looks like in-game against the colors of the field models. If I had to mention anything id say the tv screen looks a lot brighter in the
original and so does the color of the rope that the clothes are hanging on.

If Apple hadn't sued Samsung and tried to ban all of their products from Apple's biggest markets, I wonder if Samsung would be trolling so hard.
Being totally non-biased though, the new iPhone 5 really wasn't' that impressive. It's hardware doesn't stack up to the competition like the iPhone 4s did. When Apple's marketing team says that they are being revolutionary, it makes me giggle inside at the dummies who take what Tim Cook says seriously. Well... definitely more than when Samsung trolls Apple. If I had an upgrade on my plan i'd totally go for the galaxy s III or the note.

just to give an idea.
Neither of those two are developing qgears sillypants, we will really just have to wait and see

Q-gears won't be done for another half a decade minimum
Bury those dreams in a time capsule

Given the amount of progress over the past year and a half, I would estimate much sooner than that, actually.  :)

I wouldn't say that it would be impossible. When Q-gears matures, adding a playable field
and new characters would be as easy as adding some scripts and utilizing akari's various importers.
That won't be any time soon although q-gears seems to be picking up some steam.

That looks awesome as usual SpooX

I have a question for you guys regarding this project

Would it be unreasonable to take the latest WIP's of all the content that has been made thus far
and make an installer for a beta test. I feel like I have been thoroughly teased by
all of these pictures for the last two years and do not even have access to what has been already finished.
I would even go so far as to offer to take the source data, convert it to ff7 format and put it in the game myself.

I am seriously stalking your mercurial page Akari, I would be honored to buy you a cup of coffee :)

Great job on the Tifa model, there are only a few main characters left now 8)

It would be for the purpose of scaling, Not camera movement. Camera's would still be static. Guessing that's still out of the question though huh?

I think having fully 3d fields would be amazing for that exact reason, when cyberman brought up talk of 3d this was what initially popped in my head

Good job so far on qgears, I impatiently await the new demo :)

keep up the good work brochachos

it would seem that more focus on "save" and less focus on "save as" is in order; actually having a "save" button would be a great start. I ask because its extremely rare to find a program that has "save as" but basically doesn't have "save."

I believe a name change is in order : Black Chocobo - FF7 Save As Game Editor

I know you did this with always having a backup in mind, however, somedays, some people prefer to live on the edge as I have been lately.
I suggest a 'save' function as well, to update or rewrite the current save.

When I'm not in class or studying, sometimes I lurk qhimm o.o
I play the guitar in my dorm like it's my job whenever time permits
Also general geekery

Plants do not require 24/7 emotional support to thrive based on this one time that I grew some tomatoes (which turned out quite well) so I therefore do not believe that your qhimm time has been completely taken away with your vegetation station. I think you need to tell us what is really going on jeffdamann *humph*

Cats are pretty cool.
