Instead of wasting your money, if you have a PS3, buy Heavy Rain.  It is remarkably well done and hopefully its success will encourage other developers to be creative and try new things with videogames.

Well I'm still getting FFXIII but what the hell is Heavy Rain exactly? I read the wiki and that NPR article Opine linked, but they both left me saying WTF?

Come to think of it, there were quite a few other character battle models in the works... :P
/I/ have a new character in the works that I'm sure will make some folks happy ;)

I don't even know what it is and I'm already happy! If it's as good as Barrett then, you know what, stop reading this and go work on it!!

Just joking  8) ;D :D ;) :-D  :-P

by worst i meant weakest. Safari is pretty out there, but it shows some degree of confidence n ballz. IE just says we're doing better than last time :P

It implies that it was impossible for IE users to choose a different browser before this happened. ;D

LOL, I got that impression as well.

Oh, and Firefox FTW!

It seems stupid to ask if it's difficult or long/arduous since if it wasn't I'm sure they'd be released by now.  :/

Also if it were easy then we'd all do it ourselves.

So on that note, thanks in advance Millenia!

So what you're saying is that we should kill off roughly half the population?

Or 90%, depending on where in that 100-120 range therage800 decides the passing grade will be.

In any case, it's a recipe for disaster; even the Nazis were smart enough to know that killing everyone with a double figure IQ might be a bad idea.
By definition, roughly half of the population has an IQ below 100. I don't know how steep the curve is after that, but it's not until about 120 that it really starts to decline.

It wasn't clear whether he decided that anyone with an IQ between 100 and 120 would pass or whether he hadn't decided what point in between those two would be the pass mark.

Yeah, I was undecided on the exact number. Besides I don't honestly believe that. It's just a fantasy for when the stupid get on my nerves  ;) Plus, it's like Kudistos Megistos  said, "The main problem with killing stupid people is that we need someone to do the crappy jobs we don't want to do. We'd increase global intelligence greatly if we culled everyone with an IQ below, say 120. However, we'd find out that we'd just killed everyone who takes our rubbish away, everyone who cleans our toilets, everyone who builds our houses and everyone who grows, transports and sells us our food."

Crash report:
Whenever I close ff7.exe, the game crashes.
crash.dmp

I had that problem with 0.7.4b... If you haven't already, upgrade to 0.7.5b

Since there's nothing morally wrong with being stupid (especially since morality is only a figment of people's imagination, just like religion), then what basis shall we use to decide who lives and who dies? Some test? Who decides what test? The majority? The intelligent? How do we decide who's intelligent? Even if the test was based on intelligence, can we guarantee society and people's lives will be better because only the intelligent survived (assuming we even knew what 'better' means)?

We take the already defined IQ tests... I say we make the passing grade around 100 - 120 (mid average to just above average). Hey it's unrealistic but we can dream can't we?!

looking SHARP (bad pun) man!
are you going to release them in groups of 4 like before?

Hopefully that's the plan, so we can get some of them earlier  8-) ;)

Update:

Holy crap  :-o! I'm hardware and tech support guy so it always impresses me when I see what you guys can do with graphics!

Yay movies work!

And I don't know if this was intentional or not but the game no longer crashes upon closing.

Also, love the transparent battle menu!

Edit

Just tested one of Clouds monologues; it does indeed work with fancy transparencies on!

161
I love your old driver but this new one is nothing but problems...

1. Movies don't work and I have the latest version of k-lite installed.
2. I get an in-game error saying Error: libpng_error: Read error
3. I get a windows error "ff7.exe has stopped working" after choosing quit from the menu.
4. I get an in-game error saying GL_Invalid Operation

App Log:
Code: [Select]

INFO: C:\Program Files (x86)\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\movies\eidoslogo.avi; rawvideo/null 364x353, 15.000000 FPS, duration: 0.066667, frames: 1
INFO: C:\Program Files (x86)\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\movies\sqlogo.avi; mpeg4/mp3 640x480, 15.000000 FPS, duration: 247.788000, frames: 3717

ERROR: libpng error: Read Error
ERROR: COULD NOT LOAD TEXTURE DATA FILE clf_lg.TEX
ERROR: COULD NOT LOAD TEXTURE DATA FILE clf_lg.tim

1. You have the same now-broken version of eidoslogo.avi, my guess is that "rawvideo" is not a very reliable format. If you're having problems with sqlogo.avi too that could be worth looking into.
2. You're missing a texture, in this case clf_lg. Since it's not a valid .tex file the driver tried to load it as a .png instead, which of course failed since the file is broken or doesn't exist.
3. Can't reproduce this on my end but if you don't get the same problem when you kill the game with alt-f4 the driver is probably not to blame.
4. The applog you posted does not show this error, and it's missing the important information about your OpenGL renderer. A complete applog with or without this error (preferably with) would help a lot.
1. I tried replacing the eidos logo with the original... It played, but then went to a black screen and played the sound from the eidos logo repeatedly.
2. I guess this one was irrelevant to this discussion.
3. I do get the same problem with alt f4.
4. Hmm, I thought I posted the entire log... I'll try posting the newest one. Although for some reason it still says the eidos logo is the 1 frame raw video...

There. Now the nice bot is improving the pagerank of MyBunny.org - a website for non-profit, no-kill rabbit rescue thingy.

Seemed fitting. ;D

Ha that me made me LOL again! Actually lets change that to ROFL!!  :-P :-D :D

163
Number 3 is caused by having FFVII in compatibility mode, game works fine for me in XP and Vista without needing it turned on.

Didn't work. Besides, it worked before the new driver...

164
Alright I'll lend a hand and test it when you release Midgar part  8-)

I remember in the psx version the music becomes faint at that point... So my thinking is that FF7music is misinterpreting the command to do so as stop. Can any of the editors modify things such as stops and ramps, etc.?

I have a problem that's been bugging me for days now. After using the dolphin in Junon to get to the upper level, the Highwind FMV plays but then half way through the music suddenly stops. I have found that turning off "Obey stops" fixes the issue but of course I want to leave that on! I So far up to the end of the first disk that is the only part where the problem occurs... Any ideas?
