Threesixty: I can't check to see if it's still there because my firewall blocks me from the site.  :x But at http://www.pcgamer.com/" TARGET=_blank>http://www.pcgamer.com/  follow the link to the Q&A section and the guy usually has a link in the Q&A that addresses the pros and cons of RDRAM and why he doesn't recommend it.

The SaiNt: I agree. Well, hopefully we can get some stuff done, then.

Jari Huttunen: You wouldn't know anything about overclocking a laptop, would you?

Threesixty: One question. Concerning your comment about RDRAM (Rambus). Are you saying that the company is the only thing keeping the P4 afloat because of its recent "political" maneuverings that make DDR RAM a tough call for retailers? Or are you saying that RDRAM is keeping the P4 afloat because of it's high quality when compared to DDR? Just not sure what you meant. I personally don't care much for RDRAM, and don't recommend using it...

Sorry, eerrrr. Easy as cake. I've still got my old 386. I almost never use it, except for typing up reports and playing old favorites like X-wing. (The *only* reason this counts, basically, is because I still use it.)

386 33MHz
16MB RAM
Dos 6.1
Win 3.1
125 MB Hard drive
3.5 and 5.25 (broken) floppy drives
No CD drive
Definately no 2D/3D card

Threesixty: Your fault. You mentioned it.   We all want to know.

StrayWings: Ha ha! Mine is worse than yours! Oh, wait...

P166 (Laptop)
48MB RAM (no idea on speed)
Win95 Explorer
2x CD Drive
12 GB Hard drive
No 3D card

I was looking around in search engines, seeing if there were any other new FF7 save editors besides Cid and FF7 Save Editor. Found the site, found some cool apps, got excited, and started asking questions on the board. That was sometime late November-ish.

eerrrr: How could you forget? The Soundfonts thread made 4 pages. And I'm relatively sure this post will make it, if for no other reason than people's unwilling stubborness.

Hey, another new person. The people just keep on being shipped in around here. Anyways, welcome. And yes, the stars are a ranking system. To learn more about Qhimm, go to his site: http://qhimm.com/" TARGET=_blank>http://qhimm.com/

This thread has served its purpose and gone off topic. People have reached their goal of another thread breaking the 100 post barrier. I don't mind either way. If Qhimm wants to take the trouble to close the post so be it. Otherwise, let it continue.

Well... I don't know about the off topic thing. Just as long as it's not in the wrong forum.

Thanks for the info everyone.

Cuddleswing: I hope you didn't do that *after* reading the Cuddleswing thread.

The SaiNt: I'm not from that forum.

Sir Canealot: I believe that is a standard feature of a lot of html wizards. For instance, the free Netscape Composer that comes with Netscape. In it, you can either right-click and select "make link", or you can just click the big "Link" button at the top of the screen. (Let me say again that I don't recommend using an html wizard to create your pages. Notepad is better than any I've come across.)
So... what makes Dreamweaver worth $200+ bucks? And is Fireworks any good?

And since everyone seems to want this to go completely off topic... Does anyone know of a program that will convert .bmp to JPEG without distorting the image?

Sir Canealot: What's so special about Dreamweaver anyway? I prefer Notepad to any html editor I've come across so far.

Cuddles Wing: Actually, I've heard some distant rumblings (Daily Radar) that Square may shift platforms to either X-Box or Gamecube in the near future.

Read the post "Best Squaresoft RPG of 2000".
From reading it, I've drawn the conclusion that FF9 is better than FF8, but gameplay is still lackluster compared to other games in the series. Square definately seems to have its priorities mixed up.

I'd sign that. Although, the porting is only part of the problem. The game quality of the FF series since 7 has also gone down.

Well that's because UT was better than Q3 (unless you judge a game solely on graphics).

The SaiNt: I agree completely.

Jari Huttunen: I have no actual data, but I seem to remember reading that FF7PSX outsold all of Square's previous games on opening day. The same report said that FF7PC went a step further on its opening day by surpassing FF7PSX's opening day sales.

Don't remind me.

Actually, if the quality of Square's games begins/continues to deteriorate, I'd rather a company with a rep for excellence (like Blizzard) took over the actual FF series (not the ports).

Edit: Something wasn't clear.

 Well, if you're going to go for something that extreme, of course your PC will die a fiery death.

I'd do the same with my one and only PC (P166), except it's a laptop/notebook.   Don't even know how to open the thing.

16.
My birthday is on Pearl Harbor Day. That's enough for me. (Who cares that I was born almost 40+ years after it actually happened.)
